Great fishing your videos are very helpful was fishing mountshannon myself Monday and off tomorrow so hopefully water is good can be very dodgy their thanks for videos senan ☺️
Thanks for watching pa 👌😊 mountshannon is a lovely spot, ya keep safe man that’s the main thing 💪 il be out myself tomorrow, tight lines, catch a monster 👌
Really fun to get them on the trout gear, had a great day today, will have another video up this Sunday just need to edit todays footage. Weather was crazy wild 😁
Thank you! Making the most of the week off work, should have a video once a week after this week once the weather cooperates at the weekend, the Irish weather has a mind of its own 😁👏
Thank you! The club I’m in is impossible to get a mooring I was waiting a fair while and had to get 3 members to sign for me, il be on the list for the next 15 years waiting to get into a boat shed. Your best bet would be throw it into a public marina, but then there’s no security. It’s a joke. There is a huge demand for boat sheds on Derg but nobody cares.
@@decgunner there’s a huge demand for more fishing boat sheds on Derg but will never happen. They only care about big cruisers and sailing boats where the big money is. The fishermen are the heart and soul of the lake.
Rapala is my go to lure on the corrib. I like the floaters so if your using 2 rods and hook a fish you don't have to reel the other one in straight away. I also remove the front hook as ive convinced myself that the 2 hooks impacts hookups but that could be just me. Stayed a few nights and fished the Derg last week with the kids. Caught a fair few trout on the Nenagh river on drys and a few perch/roach from the shore but no trout. Tight lines
Good stuff Timmy, I love the rapalas for the first two months of the season, they can be deadly early on. 👌 they can be tough to catch on the best of days, sometimes the feeding spells only last 20 minutes, brilliant fun trying for them tho. 👌🎣
Hi Sean ,I’m an old timer Lough Erne ,Melvin ,Corrib,Arrow guy.Nearing the end of my seasons and was a bit worried about passing it on . Started with Lanes and Rapalas in the mid 70s , Just loved it when I hit on your videos. You are an inspiration! I’ve got my nephew and his kids tuned in up in Fermanagh . I’m now in Hospital with pneumonia and watching this video whilst doing my chest physio. You will help me be out by March 17th , Bravo . Jimmy
Hi James! Really sorry to hear that you’re in hospital I wish you a speedy recovery 🙏 you will be back out in no time ! I’m sure your nephew and the kids are buzzing to get out fishing with you, those traditional lane minnows and how to use them properly is a great way to catch trout, it’s cool to see everyone having the same interests around the country 🙏☺️
@@senanstanleyfishing thanks very much Sean . I’m still casting with you in the ward ! Coming along slow but sure .I hope to be ready for a charity fishing day up here in Dunfanaghy held by our club towards the charity fund for the recent disaster . It’s on Lough Natooey, our local Rainbow venue . If you are ever up this far ,please do give me a shout .Meanwhile I’m your virtual wingman ! Jimmy.
@@senanstanleyfishing amazing, all that going on with a small lure. Huge pike, lamprey attached and digested eel hanging out of her mouth........only it's on cam, people would think it was a fisherman's tale😂😂
Fair play, you got nice weather for it too. I'm launching the boat again from mountshannon soon. How fast should I be trolling for trout? For pike I go as slow as possible. Should I be little bit faster for trout? Thanks
Thanks pal. Keep an eye on the shoreline when your after trout and imagine a person walking at a fast pace and match that speedfor the trout, between 3-4 mph is best. 👏👏 the trout are absolute rockets if they want it they will come get it
I’m sure there’s an odd one travelling through bud the dam at ardnacrusha as stopped them, I’m fishing Derg over 20 years and never met a salmon. Although I’ve had salmon parr in the small rivers around Derg so I’m sure one or two make it to spawn every few years.
Love using the tassies, always seem to forget they’re in the box! Do you fish them often bud? I know a lot of lads swear by them! I’ve had a lot of perch take them during the warm summer months
@@senanstanleyfishing Use them a lot (have hundreds!) and you can get obsessed about what colours to use. Unreal man, really cool to hear the tassies working, il give them a go again myself after hearing that 😊👌 the rapala countdown xrap 7cm in brown trout has been the number1 lure this year so far. The lane minnows usually take over then in the next few weeks 🔥

such a pike.....did you just remove thew lamprey? Tricky to come off?
Never had to remove one
It actually came off while netting the fish, and the pike also had an eel digesting inside its mouth, they love eels, crazy to see 😅
