I know this is a months old comment but a minute or so after this clip there is a scene where the kid is getting helped up by some people so he does survive!
I once watched this movie and from what I gathered, both characters were messed up adults - one controlling and the other one dependent. In my criminology studies, I came across a concept called traumatic bonding. Traumatic bonding occurs when one partner is abusive and the other is dependent. The two are constantly at odds, but in a traumatic relationship, they bond in an unhealthy way based on insecurities, mistrust, and the mistaken belief that abuse is something passionate or a sign of love. Its very common in turbulent relationships. I'm not entirely sure if I understood the monsters in the movie. Could they actually hear each other, or was their bond metaphorical?

I loved that movie after watching it, the concept alone was a genius outside the box.
Ok despite the fact that I love this movie, the spikes on top of kaiju Gloria's head kinda make the top of it look like a durian.
Wow. Just found this!!!!! Thank you!!!
I'm sure I'll never see this on netflix. They don't like to give us newer movies. But don't worry they'll cycle the same shit you've already seen every 3-4 months so you have no choice but to say "guess I'll just watch this AGAIN", instead of "oh, this is new! I haven't seen this yet, I'll give it a watch."
Movies like this don’t really do it for me but i can understand the appreciation. Cinema is a vast world
That Oscar character is even worse like my stepdad
Oh so this Oscar guy was the one who landed in my house

When your Biden took office, he raised the Federal Minimum wage $4.05 to $15.00 an hour through his executive order. This means theater workers 'DID' receive a raise.
Not too long after, several deep blue states followed suit with their minimum wage requirements. We have been close to two years, for a few states, living under $15.00 minimum wage. California looked to punish Fast Food specifically by raising minimum wage, for fast food, to $20.00 an hour. Depending on what state someone was living in, their fast food experience may differ. Minimum wage in North Carolina, for example, is $7.25.

Anne hathaway, who portrayed Gloria here voiced Jewel from Rio and Jason sudeikis, who portrayed Oscar here also voiced Red from The angry birds movie. So basically, Jewel and Red are here in this movie, the birds of the feather.
4:04 I liked when she threw him away
It's amazing how, despite being small against the robot, she is in fact Colossal against his inner self.
Every woman wants a telepathic bonded kaiju
It really is a gem of a movie that was a genuine pleasure to discover .
Heres the funny part about this, if Oscar didnt Panic, he would just ran straight to the monster and we have alternate ending xD
I just found this movie again... from a mistake the same I found it when I was a child on the tv
1:52 you can see the monster's leg phasing through those trees, lol

This is an awesome ending, but now I’m just realizing how many suburban family homes were probably destroyed by Anne.
Totally underrated movie .
Agree
Jason Sudeikis was incredible in this movie. So utterly terrifying in that harrowing scene at the bar when he started bullying everybody.
I never heard of this movie it looks good I have to see it .
The only similarity I can think of is the place behind the pines. It started off down a familiar path and then took a totally different direction.
Yeah, if you can find it dirt cheap, watch it, it is worth wathching *JUST ONCE*.
The movie is really not gripping enoujgh to warrant a second watch, most of the movie is just stupid fuckingn exposition, grown adults fighting each other over petty fucking things, and a fucking spoiled brat cocksucking terrorist named Oscar (the guy who got thrown)
Why in the world didn't seoul evacuate this area sooner? They know the schedule and general area the "monsters" appear. The people put themselves in danger. Is it just for dramatic effect for the ending scene? It's for dramatic effect, isn't it? To have hundreds of people fleeing the scene. This plot hole ruined the movie for me.
It’s also how she just knew what would happen if she went Seoul

This flim is way better than Pacific rim 2
DO you have any concrete logically sound explanations to back this up? Or are you just pulling nonsensical biased hate out of your niggard american Ass?
Pacific rim was not *THE BEST MOVIE EVER*, but it is *FAR* FROM BEING A LITERAL TREVESTY, WORST MOVIE IN EXISTENCE*.
The bulk of Collosal is just fucking exposition, and petty humans fighting over petty things. Is that your idea of a good movie? Watching a bunch of manchildren adults fight over each other for an hour over stupid frivolous things? Not to mention the spoiled BRAT of a self-loathing literal terrorist that is Oscar. This is not a love story, not a comedy, not a thriller nor mystery. It's just watching ppl fight about life or talk about mundane things for the large majority of the movie, the literal only interesting things about the movie are the monster scenes, the ending, and *maybe* the flashbacks.
Pacific Rim is literally, both objectively and subjectively the better movie. It has more action, more ACTUAL interesting movie content, REAL interesting character development and gripping plot, with you feeling on edge for basically the entire movie.
Although it is arguable whether the plot itself was "good" or not, you cannot deny, pacific rim 2 despite all of it's disaappointments, still has **WAY MORE ACTION** than colossal, which just sounds like one glorified documentary with little sprinkles of action
Wow the ending is so deeper dramatic Soo unique for destroy with humblely

Man this....this is making me feel way to many emotions right now just seeing this guy break down in fear weeping for his life then shout in anger I haven't even seen this film yet....I just have to right now
Lmao 🤣🤣
This movie was a pleasant surprise, and the score is absolutely top notch 😮
Oscar: PUT ME DOWN BITCH
monster: nah b I’ll follow her move and end your career :)
Joker : "poor choice of words."
this film made me miss 'War of the Monsters' on playstation.
ahh that was such a good game..
I loved that game growing up.
Yo recordaba que en su momento, los trailers mostraban está película como una comedia, pero lo que vi acá, no lo parece. Esto parece más interesante que lo que se anunció en su momento.
"Why these adults was conected to the giants?"
"Yes"
That monster's head kinda looks like Steppenwolf lol 😆
More like something out of a Dr Seuss story.
Missed opportunity to have a fractal puppet, where if you meet the other collosal as a human, there is an even larger collossal that would manifest
I don't understand why he didn't just see here walking to him and grab here first. It would have been the most natural thing for his character to do. Plot Armor I guess.
The guy does not know how this is happening. She had to figure this out. To him she just figured out how to make it appear anywhere.
@@Mystravian how did she see him though is the question? Also how did she know that her monster would be at the park if she was at the city?
Also she did even touch or grab you robot with her human hands. It was shown that she picked up or stepped on the building in the park to cause the damage in the real city.
It was a gamble. But he was notably less experienced then her. She wasn’t afraid, and because she had the element of surprise, he was LOOKING UP. Yes he could have seen her but by the time she was close he wasn’t thinking to look for her. He was looking at the big monster, not understanding how it was there but terrified!
How would that have been the most natural thing for him? That doesnt fit his character at all. Hes not smart and he's a coward who preys on weaker people to prop his weak self esteem up, killing thousands as a monster is an amazing power trip to him. He was too terrified of the monster and not smart enough to figure out what she did. He went out showing his true colors.
@@tenjenk I would say he didn't do anything for a long period of time but just stand there in the beginning. Also I would agree that he is dumb. Seeing the monster there walking towards you just means you need to run towards it to crush her.
Interesting that the robot didnt scream or make vocal sounds but the monster did when she screamed at him.
Of all the ways to kill a massive robot she had to go with the one that would prolly kill the most people
Robot disappeared before he land the ground

What if she ripped him apart and all we see is the robot getting torn in half in a very PG manner with oil LOL
I know the effects in this one aren't the best but did that monster straight-up clip through the trees?
Wasn't the ending scene. In the ending scene she gianted back to Japan and scrawled in to the soil that she was sorry and would protect the people from now on.
She’d tried apologising earlier, but had problems with fine control. The monster was her broken uncontrolled side; she couldn’t get better until she got rid of it.
