You hit it on the head with the R1. I was in Palm Spring for a golf trip and played 36 each day. The R1 was dead 5 holes into the second round. So I contacted customer service ,which is fantastic by the way, and they sent out an NX10 no questions asked and included a return label to send the R1 back. Great video!!
Picked up the R1 after talking to you about the two. Amazon had a killer 24 hour deal on October 11th and got the R1 for $232 dollars and free shipping. Couldn't be happier. Thanks my man!!
I have a R1 that I've use for 1 season (snow here fron November to April) in 2023. I tough it wouldn't be an issue but the unit won't even last 2 rounds of golf on a charge meaning that I have to bring it back home every time I play. I'm a club member and I leave my bag at the club on storage and I found it a bit frustating to have to bring that thing back every time. I should have buy the NX10 with free batteries for life instead. The added "GPS" features the R1 provide is duplicate date for me as I use also Arccos Caddy so no added value for me.
Yeah that was my major issue with R1 as well - and I imagine it was likely why it was discontinued. Really curious to see what they have in store for 2024.
@@breakingeighty I wrote to them this weekend about the possibility of having a rebate on another model because of my issues, I was reading that they had an exchange program. They answer me back today saying that they will ship me a brand new NX10 free of charge and free transport and that I could keep or get rid of the R1 I have used for almost a year. This is the kind of company I'm glad to be associated to. It's always in the service level a company gives that you can judge them. 👍
You always have great videos Ive had a precision pro nx7 for years and was thinking of upgrading to the nx9 but after listening to your advice I might give the Blue Tees 3 max a try What do you think
Major issue with the R1: yes, the USB C, but the rangefinder can’t last 2 rounds on a full charge. This appears to be an issue that PP is well aware of and they are replacing for me. Excellent customer service, but but the NX10
@@razmsuYou have to charge after every round there chief. Read my original comment. You don't "throw it on a charger once in a while" it is after EVERY round.
SAVE YOUR MONEY! I received this unit as a gift - It worked when I took it out of the box - but when I went to use it on the golf course it wouldn't power on. I figured it needed a charge but it would not charge, regardless of the cord or power outlet. I contacted customer service. They told me they would replace it and have me send the defective unit back. I then got a second email saying they would replace it and I could discard the old unit. They never sent out the new unit. When I inquired they responded that their warranty does not cover lost/stolen units but they would give me 30% off towards a new one. Each message came from a different person in customer service. SAVE YOUR MONEY, THIS COMPANY IS HORRIBLE AND CLUELESS

R1 is a non-starter for me. I had it and sent it back. Until they can get 8 rounds minimum out of the battery it's just a pain to deal with.
You can’t throw it in the charger once in a while? Pro-tip….buy an external battery too if you’re that lazy.

It should work for anything but the plain white nx10. Should work if you get one of the colored skins. Hoping to get that updated.
