    I’ve never used range finders before and just purchased the pro x3+. Already shaved strokes off my game. The wind feature is a must have and the connectivity is super easy and no issues at all. Best purchase I’ve made by far

    great review. I will say i both agree and disagree about the wind data ---- i agree that it's a huge waste of time having to wait on that wind data with a bluetooth linkup app, but i disagree in that the wind data isn't useful. If you're a shotmaker that really knows his distances, wind data is absolutely crucial (especially when it's significant, like over 5 mph or gusting or somesuch). Hvaing said that, i've been an Arccos user for several years now, and while the wind data on that app is magnificent, it's only as good as what the wind is actually doing right where you're at. There's work to be done by the industry on trying to figure out the wind, and right now educated guesses are all that anybody is able to provide (and to top that off, if you're allowing for wind in your golf game, you better know how wind works --- for example, does the layout of the whole block the wind, or cause a "wind tunnel" effect, or perhaps even reverse it?).
    While i don't think tossing grass up in the air where you're at is very helpful at all, just knowing if it's blowing by looking at tree tops, or knowing it's being altered due to the terrain of where you're at on the course is as good as it gets nowadays. I've had a Bushnell Pro X7 (it's a big ol' beast😄) for years now, i think the next rangefinder i get will be that Caddytalk Cube thing. It provides everything except wind, has a "triangulation" feature, and actually has this "M-slope" deal where they supposedly take ballistics into account. I think that's a real step up from some of the others where slope is concerned.

    I personally use a basic Bushnell rangefinder and the Garmin approach S70 watch in combination. I stopped using the wind data on the watch for the very reasons your described. I do find combining the exact yardage with the GPS front middle and back to be the best for my game. A basic GPS device plus a basic rangefinder not only gives you backup in case one device isn’t working, but it’s also cheaper overall. Thanks Sean for all the good work!

      Agreed! I use an app on my phone for tee shots on new courses and blind shots and a laser for approach shots. It’s the perfect combo for me.

      Which basic Bushnell exactly? I have the Garmin S70 as well and wanted to buy a rangefinder as backup or to double-check the watche's data as you mentioned

    Went with the Pro X3+ not so much for the wind data, but it clicked all the other boxes for me, and I got it new in the 4s

    The X3+ was FANTASTIC on the course! I didn't bother pairing for wind data, so can't speak to that. The X3 was $599 at the PGA Superstore, but the X3+ was on sale ($70 off). I'm extremely happy with this purchase and I would not consider the other recommendations. As you said, Bushnell is the leader in this. You can't go wrong with the leader.

    thanks, I lost my v5 shift recently and was going to replace it was the x3+ because of the wind reading. I'm so glad i watched this because i don't want to have to connect to any apps or third party to slow down my reading and playing time
    well done....thanks again... what should i buy? x6 shift?

      V6 Shift is solid, but the voice caddie tl1 at $280 has a better display, and is way cheaper. I’d personally go with that.

    너무 좋은 리뷰였네요.
    어떻게 바람의 값을 측정할까 했는데…
    역시 제품을 버벅 거리게 할수 있는거네요. 너무 감사합니다!!

    Can you check out the swing logic SLX hybrid stuff? They're at such a cheap price it's hard to say no to them, but they're so cheap I fear they're useless. The hybrid mini launch monitor is really compelling to buy as a gift for someone

    Good review! When is it time to upgrade for accurate distance to the pin? I have the V3 still and don't find any issues other than accidentally shooting a random object behind the pin. What am I missing from say a V5 or V6?

    • @breakingeighty
      @breakingeighty  3 месяца назад +2

      Honestly? Not much. I feel like all the V models are mostly incremental updates. So if you're V3 is still working for you? I don't think there's much need to upgrade.

    Wind is a wasted metric. You need to understand wind at height and at the green. Device can't calculate that. AND part of the real fun in golf shots, is FEELING the effects of wind. Unless you play simulator golf. Also not a lot of fun compared to REAL golf.
