  • Intro to how to measure, how many bits you need for what number of digits and other ramblings. Managed to mix in another SMU, because of course.
Keithley is, truly, my favorite test equipment manufacturer.

Nothing wrong with gear acquisition syndrome. I've been doing it for, ummm, many years! Also good to see someone progressing to get more PPM's!

In the spirit of improvisation I cobbled together some Kelvinish twisted pairs from lamp power cable and separately guarded them with aluminium tape. What difference do you think this kind of home made "improvement" would make to a sensitive device taking a 4 wire reading (Lets say 6 digits) over just the "standard aliexpress probe" equivalent. Not everyone has 8+ digits but getting access to a 4 wire rig with 5 is getting affordable. Almost flea market affordable. (fwiw I did my tests on a 66309B and also did some sanity tests with a Fluke 287)
Making electronics is more like playing LEGO than it ever was for the beginner, do you think that this trend to simplify protocols and package away complexity works "for" or "against" someone starting out on a non-formal learning journey....
What steps do you think we (as a global society) should be taking toward being able to provide our own power and communications infrastructures in the event of catastrophic unforeseen loss of central services. We used to have catwhisker radio and candles...
As an educator how do you envision bringing about the paradigm shift required in mindsets to question accepted practices in industry - I'm thinking Tesla level inspiration...
and I don't mean an MIA roof.
You asked for interesting talking points. They seemed like some. This is possibly the only video you ever made where I understand everything you said lol

For a 236? 350-400 euros, max, depending on the condition of the instrument. You also have to factor in buying and crimping a triaxial cable or finding a triax to bnc adapter. Those aren't cheap, actually they're a fair bit of money. Moreover, you kinda need a gpib interface for the thing to do any fancy measurements or automation. Maybe I'll do a video about GPIB, if there's interest
