One of the greatest instruments Keithley ever made. I used them at ADI working on various precision circuits such as the ADL5304 logamp. When compared to the more modern SMUs the Keithley was far quieter. Which was important as transients on the input of the logamp could easily reverse bias the translinear device and crashing the logamp. To really appreciate these boxes you should measure into an hp3458. The greatest box hp made.
i have seen that a defective Bridecamera was sold for 90eur and a few seconds later the same model in working condition for 60eur :D. (same outer appearance)
I had a good laugh on bear part :) And thanks for reference. K237/238 units has higher voltage output power stage mostly, AFAIK. LED display is looking great, much better than small VFDs like on K2000.
I will always be a supporter and huge fan of your content. You’ve taught me a lot and open me up to an entire New World of equipment and work When I started watching you, I was happy with my stack of new HP 6 1/2 digit meters, and thought I was Mr. fancy pants. 😂 Now here I am years later trying to explain to my family why I need another 8.5 digit meter. 😂 I know you’re super busy, but would be amazing to see more laser content from you… But the MOST IMPORTANT THING… Is the OSMU. If you could give us any kind of update or info?… There are a lot of folks who would really appreciate it. Stay safe and thanks for all you teach us!!!
I've seen this video multiple times out of curiosity and possiblity of purchasing a broken one from eBay but never in the uncountable times that I saw this 6:08 I had a hearty kek when I noticed it
I'm just a proud new owner of a Keithley 236 It came without cables as expected. I want to make my own cable. You, and Keithley also using triaxial cable. I'm just wondering. The cable itself also working as a capacitor, also have some leakage current flowing through the insulator between the wire core and the first shielding layer. What if I choose two thin coaxial cable instead, connecting the shielding to the outer guard and use the two inner core as the poles of the instrument. This way the poles not just shielded from the outside word, but also from each other.
its a long time i have seen these typical pcbs, i remember they where a hassle to solder stuff out so i threw them away when i was a kid xD. ( In the ~1990 i got my electronic components by desoldering them from devices i found)
Hey Marco You make absolutly hilarious but informative videos, thank you so much! Do you know what type of Triaxial cable you got there and how you searched for it? I'm asking because I really can't find anything reasonably priced on ebay right now :(( The PL75-9 can be had for a reasonable 10$ per pice but cable seems to be in short supply. Maybe you could start selling a couple meters of yours (DE)? I could also offer to trade in some PL75-9's since I have to pay for postage anyway...
I have reduced my triaxial mountain to a manageable pile by selling 10m pieces for 10 EUR on eBay. There is still enough left tho. My email address is on my channel's about tab.
I find it absolutely amazing that there is a small chance that you are handling one of the meters that my grandmother may have assembled/tested.
Ask her if she kept any interesting souvenirs from that job?

At 05:00 -- Laughing out loud at the idea of complaining that the broken unit you purchased is actually fully functional... thanks, Marco!

"Ten Kilo-Dollars" lol! Now I'm going to start referencing every nice new piece of equipment in KDs. Vielen Dank Marco!
I am at 1:11 and I am already blown away by how amazing the video is.

They say its faulty so they do not have to offer returns on them according to eBay policy

Old school Reps, I wish there would be some techno backrounds nowadays
A wonderful tool and a great video. 5 points!
Hard to believe you cut that coax with that floppy bare razor blade, and apparently without mangling your fingers in the process.
Wow, great video. Thanks

What brand of nail polish are you using? Mind linking it in the description?
what happened at 5:27?
Cool video i like your channel 👍
Hello, where I can buy a tri axial male connector with 2 lug for keithley model 617/619? I can only find factory made cables... Thanks all!
Always insightful.
What is the brand/part number of the triax cable you are using?
Can't be sure, might be 'Huber und Suhner' because there seems to a flood of that on German eBay at the moment. That's where I got it.
Why not replace the triaxial connectors on the 236 with BNC ones??
best connector for triaxial cables is this:

;D
Nice gloves :D
It would be great if you randomly feature that awful sound of the 619 powering on in future videos.
Fantastic work as always!
Anyone know what that rack he's using to hold his cables is called? Maybe a coat/clothes rack?
Ooo, Astra superior platinum. Nice! You use those for shaving or for general utility?
nightshine First shaving, then when dull utility :)
Mann weiß was gut (und günstig) ist :)
Use that exact same Astra blade in my safety razor oddly.
Who read the title in Marco's voice when you saw it in your recommended feed?
2:37 my ears i was using earphones
The Music in the beginning reminds me of a musician named "Nostrum"
I just rearranged some things in an FL Studio example ... Now we know the truth about Nostrum :)
