Nice to see the Tenor take Centre Stage! Such exquisite playing. Ms. Petri truly a consummate artist & a living legend. Another one of Bach's many Six-Packs!
For a long time I suspected maybe her hands were too small for the tenor or bass. Of course women can often deal with a bass easier than a tenor due to the keys. I'm happy to see this amazing player on a tenor! And wow! I just saw her hit a terrific low Eb...she's actually playing this in the original key! I have it flipped into D (music writing software) to make it much "more practical" or easier you might say.
Isn't this just the greatest!..Eb at 440 .. very tricky for sure on a tenor...I've done this one in D (music writing software you know), but to do it in Eb, well, hats off to this musical giant. And also much credit to the continuo folks..beautiful job.
Excellent as always. But isn't tenor Ehlert made also of maple and wouldn't maple tenor sound more brightly? Recently I found out that the great Vilem Veverka sometimes plays an oboe the bell of which is from simple maple.
Maybe you have not noticed, she changes instrument for different movements - there are 3 recorders in total. There is a Tenor (possibly Elhert) and then a keyed Alto (Looks like Mollenhauer Modern alto with E foot) and then finally a keyless alto (I think) which looks similar to a Rottenburgh. I expect someone will correct me on the specific models.
@Dònal Brügge I was just answering the initial question about which recroders are being played. As to whether the sonata can be played without switching recorders would depending on the range of each piece. I would not be surprised though, since have come across sonatas (not written for recorder) that are too low for an alto in one movement and too high for a tenor in another.
1: Allegro moderato 0:00
2: Siciliano 3:24
3: Allegro 5:52
Thank you !

This is real music! Perfect execution!
Great Michala. Unforgettable
Fascinante..., hermoso! Me pareció ver por ahí una mozartiana escribiendo que del barroco es la mejor música. Por supuesto!
Tenor recorder solo? By God, I saw her debut as a youth; now she is in grey. No wonder I am old.
i would like to hear this harpsichordist with a regular concert flute. the tone is beautiful

Smokin'! Love the harpsichord tone.Well all of you sound amazing. The tenor is a wonderful choice for this sonata. Maker?
They have Spotify version🤩
Gorgeous performance, marred by the rather abrupt editing of the breaks between movements.

Beautiful! What make/model recorders are you playing?
Hello Keith ... do you know in the meantime which recorder models Michala plays here. Their sound is truly amazing!
@@Magnus1612 I am certain it's a Moeck Ehlert model
