Hi James! I just found your videos while browsing the internet trying to decide which piano to buy (I've always wanted to learn how to play and I'll start my studies soon). Just want to say that what I most like about your videos is the passion you show for the instrument which you convey very naturally to your audience. I imagine many years of hard work led you to be such a good pianist. I wish I can learn to play piano as you do. My congrats and thank you for your videos :)
Beautiful playing as usual James, I can see why these are among your favourites. ("specialy that tomthumb) (but the Howard is a lot quieter than I was expecting)
Too bad the sound cut out for the Howard Piano I did read your comment and understand but I was looking forward to hearing the refurbished piano. DC Pianos do nice work, I can see why you feature them.
Hard to say which one I like more. But unfortunately the last one has no sound. I hope it is not again because of a copyright. I can completely understand that you ‘almost’ lost a friend there. That piano is so special. Although it isn’t possible to buy all the most loved pianos out there. Thank you for sharing and playing.
O boy now we can’t hear your playing. Luckily we can see you playing. And no you don’t have to say sorry. It’s just the time we live in. It becomes difficult to remember what you can play one day.
Hi, James👋 What do you say about the Blüthner Model 1? I find this piano has a very special, wonderful silk and voluminous sound. Can you introduce this piano?
I appreciate all and very much like most of your video's but sometimes these less structured ones are extra appealing to me, thanks. It does not matter so much the lost audio at the end as I was able to hear my favourite at the beginning = Bösendorfer :)
All those pianos have great sound, even the upright that we could hear. There's nothing like the sound of a real acoustic piano,i love the Bosendorfer.Too bad they muted Howard.
It was a really cool piano, but the copyright people challenged the song I played. I could have removed the last piano, but I thought it should stay just because it looked so cool.
@@ThePianoforever I have a Vose and Son's Upright Grand needs a little restoring but actually sounds very good for it's age. It has a hand written cleaning date under the keys of 1897. thanks for showing these pianos!
@@ThePianoforever Ohwell. I also had a few piano covers that were copyright striked. It's always a Russian Roulette kind of thing, this copyright detection thing...
Vintage key tops although controversial because because of the way some were obtained are the best from a pianist's perspective. Although no longer allowed on new pianos the existing ivories should be respected as the best keytops available.
Really not a fan of that 3rd steinway, sounded very weak and uninspiring to me :( The upper treble sounded good, but anything lower than that sounded very nasal to me
Natural keytops means ivory keys. I have heard of other types of bone being used but ivory was historically the go-to material for keytops. It has a grippy, lovely tactile feel that pianists love even to this day, when such keys will only be found on antique or vintage pianos.

This is right down the street from me! Glad you enjoyed your time there. It’s a great little shop.

@ThePianoforever James, You could make a Playschool piano sound beautiful...there's no doubt in my mind.
Hi James, the volume seemed to have disappeared when you started playing the Howard piano.
Yep, the copyright algorithm claimed my video and so that section had to be muted. Sorry.
@@ThePianoforever Ahh!!! I am sure it sounded wonderful!
Hello, like your videos, would you do a review of the Casio px 160?
Still love that Tom Thumb piano! Just a unique sound. The RS Howard is completely silent on my end....

Shame, shame, shame....

If you search my channel you will find a wonderful model one that I featured last year in Texas.
Nice review again, unfortunately there's no sound as of the moment you startede to play the last piano!

I so wanted to hear the R.S. Howard. I learned to play on that model (and color) piano.

Hi James. Was that a copyright issue with the weird audio cutoff at 14:26? Probably a reupload could help.
Yep, the copyright algorithm claimed my video and so that section had to be muted. Sorry.

Did the infamous youtube copyright machine strike again? could be why its muted
Yes.
James, the sound cuts out at 14:24 and doesn't come back until 15:45
Yep, the copyright algorithm claimed my video and so that section had to be muted. Sorry.
And therein lies the rub: one piano simply will not suffice. Aargh...
how many pianos do you own?
What was the name of the piece played on Steinway model S?
Why wasn't there any audio for the Howard piano?

@@ThePianoforever Oh, too bad. Hope you can reshoot it. Would be good to listen to that piano.
Can someone fill me in on the " Steinway business practices " briefly mentioned? Thanks
He had a video from a while talking about just that.
Here's one talking about Steinway's policy over rebuilt Steinways: ruclips.net/video/esDGFeJkx6A/видео.html
"Natural keytops"? So ivory or something else?

James,
I guess the last piece was under copy-write, hence no sound.
I know you edit the videos,so what happened...???
Cheers,
Rik Spector
Yep, the copyright algorithm claimed my video and so thst section had to be muted. Sorry.
The simple upright was impressive for what it is, the first piano sounded but out of tune. The two steinways were great, also the last piano is muted

ThePianoforever that’s insane !!

ThePianoforever Noooooo
that tuning in the background kinda ruined the experience but I know that's part of the store.
What are natural key tops? Not a pianist, obviously. 😋 Love this channel, though.
