I am not able to use these entire features on my Samsung phone, only some. Can't do read aloud, I only have a phone and I have been a Chrome only guy. After some other videos and comments read and your video, I made the switch including downloading the Microsoft launcher and I am really enjoying better than my Ex-Chrome app. I exported all my saved passwords and disabled Chrome after clearing cache and storage, Samsung doesn't allow uninstalling Chrome.
I usually used chrome as my default browser but seeing this video makes me want to use Edge now. Thank you for sharing this information it really helps a lot. 😊
5:41 the one you just demonstrated wasn't OCR. OCR is when you select something from an image format and extract its text data. What you selected was already a text data from that website, it wasn't an image.
What a spectacularly helpful and pertinent video! I work mostly on a Mac, but I have to run a couple of Windows computers, as well. So I've been exposed to Edge for about 4 years now, but I still found it confusing. This video explained so much that I can hardly believe what I've been missing.
Great post, I knew you could open PDFs and Edge but I did not know you can edit them. My favorite has always been read out loud I'll get PDF books and I'll just let Edge
I've been playing around with Edge lately. But I'm totally impressed with all the embedded features I wasn't even aware of, till I watched your video. Thanks again, very help tips to maximise productivity. Bye bye Chrome.
Thanks for another useful video. For me the PDF annotation and immersive reader make Edge my favourite browser for using on the interactive whiteboard - it works well with a stylus. One oddity I noticed was that ctrl Z didn't work with with annotations in my tests a few months ago, things may have changed since then. Of course you can just erase a mistake and start a new annotation.
Thx for the video. Didn't know edge can do so many things chrome can. Edge seems to be catching up. Nice to see my favourite edtech source (eric) as an example. Would it be fun to set up a battle of the browsers video?
As Associate Professor of Biology i need a software in which i can Generate edit Graphics for paper publications. Please make a good video like this one.
Number one reason I physically uninstalled Edge: Restore Pages tab that pops up every....single....time I open the browser. It is an incredibly annoying PITA. And a major fail from MS. If anyone knows how to completely remove this feature, I'd consider redownloading Edge and using it. Until then...nope.
Pity edge doesn't allow custom thumbnails for the homepage/speed dial. Such a basic thing to overlook. Instead you get tiny squares with random favicons and an extra searchbar I'll never use.
No i wont ! I was having Program Files\Edge_Bitsxxx folders popping up and seeing Flashes of my screen made And When i remove Edge like i did 24 hour's ago Where i used you have LOTS of those Folders created during that time NEVER running Edge? SO Not A SINGLE ONE ??? Oke so Edge SPY's on my screens Without me Ever running it ? I Don't Have a microsoft account So they never go anywhere
Edge uses Chromium codebase and can run Chrome plugin extensions, other features like split screen or visual search are difficult to do with plugins in Chrome or other browsers or 3rd party apps
@@turkeyphant That means No need for Pushbullet and ShareX anymore, but you can still use them optionally while using Edge, I can see a huge advantage instead of a "worst version" of something else
Er. Sharex isn't plug in. And Sharex is actually useful with a incredible feature set. This is like comparing paint with photoshop. And the point is why bake these into your browser for everyone who might not even want them and why reinvent the wheel (but worse)?
@@turkeyphant All browsers are customizable now, you can use features or disable features, Sharex is dumb, this is comparing paint-AI with photoshop, because with Sharex you can do more but cannot do simple steps to get more, for instance to search images or translate what is inside an image real quick, also Sharex is not multiplatform, won't run on linux, a browser runs on multiplatform, capturing part of the screen with a browser and get browser options is something better than having tons of options but missing the most important
Edge is a cheap "third-world-banana" poor quality browser with copied style ideas from Google Chrome. This browser is just about advertising Microsoft ... when you open a new tab it opens their own shit and there is no way to change that, got sick of it. I will stick with Google Chrome....
As with any service online there is always a chance they will get/use your data. The same goes for Chrome, and any other service such as Social Media Platforms. Its a personal descision people make. If data and privacy is a real concern, have a look at Brave browser and the DuckDuckGo browser

PDF Editor and Drop Tool are the best ones for me. Thank you
Thank you for sharing you favourites. I do agree the drop feature is incredibly helpful once you start using it!
Immersive reader is better than any extension I could find for google chrome. It makes listening to articles a breeze.

Thank you for those very kind words. It's definitely a very different experience, but one that has gotten a lot better over time.
Amazing video, and amazing tools.
Thanks! Which is your favourite?
Another useful feature is Split Screen. I use this when viewing two web pages side by side.
Great post, I knew you could open PDFs and Edge but I did not know you can edit them. My favorite has always been read out loud I'll get PDF books and I'll just let Edge
Very compact and useful. Will try using drop
Too much useful 😊 thank you 🙏🏼
Great to hear that 👍
awesome explanation!
Thank you!
I like the video, thank you!
Glad you like it
I don't see grammar tools anymore on the immersive reader mode, did they remove it? Bing said so, but I just don't understand why they did it
It also has mouse gestures - one of the only features that was keeping me from switching away from Opera all these years.
It's come a long way indeed!
May I ask what screen recording tool did you use?
Great tips. Thanks for sharing!
Thank you!

I just started today
read aloud and immersive reading is just insane!
I agree! They are incredible

Love the annotations and must say I agree with you when looking at responsiveness and my IWB.
Does Edge still have 'Make a Note'? The ability to mark up a webpage and save the webpage + annotations as a pdf?
I am watching the video from the MS Edge :)
The OCR is not shown on mine. Could my admin have turned it off?
great tips
Thanks!
You should be a brand ambassador of Edge
Haha! Thanks!

Would it be fun to set up a battle of the browsers video?
Many great browsers are available! Most Chromium based, so yes, would be a lot of fun.
Honestly, Edge caught up to and surpassed Chrome a while ago.
And it keeps getting better. What are your favourite features?
As Associate Professor of Biology i need a software in which i can Generate edit Graphics for paper publications. Please make a good video like this one.
is citation still alive? I cannot even find it on developer tools
No, this feature was removed in previous versions as unnecessary.
OMG the PDF editor! All this time messing around with Adobe's BS and Edge has a built in tool.
Yes! All built in, and it eorks great. I'm glad you like it.
There are browser based tools like ilovepdf and pdf candy as well that you can use.

The collections now show sponsored creators in them. I don't like that. How to have collections without those sponsored creator contents?
I tested this. If you add more and more collections, eventually the sponsored ones go away.
@@paul5324 thank you. They removed the global media control. Without it, I prefer the UI of Firefox
Waooooooo amazing

Edge browser and Windows OS cannot be together

so basically half of these "features" are worse versions of pushbullet and sharex?
Edge uses Chromium codebase and can run Chrome plugin extensions, other features like split screen or visual search are difficult to do with plugins in Chrome or other browsers or 3rd party apps
What's that got to do with what I said?

edge gave me 40 extra frames

Imressive.
I'm glad you liked the video. What's your favorite Edge feature?
