@geleplejer Relationships can be hard at times... So can the breakups. There's a whole range of drama and negativity, toxicity etc etc... that can come from it. Believe me I know that story all too well! It's worth taking time to yourself after a rough breakup and learning to enjoy you, who you are, what you do, what you want to do even... and get back to your grounded roots! That way you can at least enjoy life. Believe me when I say I know the pain... I'm STILL recovering from my past relationship not just mentally and emotionally but it took a physical toll also. Take time to take care of yourself, your health, mind body and spirit. You deserve it!

Absolutely wonderful! One thought I heard some time ago and I always think about it when I am in an argument is: would you rather be happy or right? Because if you want to be right, there will always be something to argue, but if you want to be happy, the argument will be gone forever. Being right is our ego talking, being happy is your soul calling for you. Your choice :)

I can see how this can work temporarily, but from experience it only postpones the argument. This method is to avoid conflict, not work the conflict out
Purpleqaz Mellows both sides out so they aren't just screaming back and forth. May not prevent the argument, but it may help it from escalating.

Zero right, but the argument doesnt just come out of nowhere. Normally the argument is about something you and your loved one disagree on and in my opinion, i feel its better to take an hour to settle down and return to the subject later when you're not as hot headed. I do agree with ea that you need to take a minute to calm down, but he never talks about resolving the situation. Just forgetting about it
I agree with you it's a good method to prevent further heated arguments but it is not a method for working the conflict out. Hugging is good but communication and working together is more important
+Take A Walk With Me Write down on paper your argument. That will prevent escalation.

Dylan Conard no, its a good question. And it makes perfect sense: in an argument youre mad and you dont want any contact with the other.
Some people need to be alone into their own space to gather their thoughts and take those deep breaths.
I won't say it's not effective because once you do it it'll help, like once you guys are done arguing, you can open up with "i apologize for getting heated, can we just take a moment to breath..." and so on. But yes, I do agree that in that exact heated moment, randomly asking your significant other to just breath will most likely just escalate the situation lol

This video went up the day me and my girlfriend fought. I saw that it went up and clicked on it. I thought I didn’t need it. Here I am. 2 days later after this video went up my girlfriend told me she was to stressed. And that she couldn’t be in a relationship. I love her tho. And she loves me. And we talked and we know we both are going to end up together. But I’m sayin this video would of really helped me. But I didn’t pay attention to it. I learned from my mistakes. No, but with work things that are broken can be fixed. You just have to focus on why you got together in the first place, people change but feelings are still there deep down. They just are forgotten sometimes and they need to be focused on and not pushed aside. There was once a reason why a couple got together. Don't forget that. I've learned from my parents who've been through a lot that with time things can be mended. You just have to put in the effort.

This applies to a very large set of arguments but still not the full set of all arguments.
I’ll use what is surely the most common and important example. There’s a good chance what you were fighting about is something one partner is doing that is hurting the other partner. If that’s the fight you’re having, this doesn’t work, because something needs to change. No one should get over abuse just because they’re going to die someday. Communication + listening + empathy + love = resolution of all arguments.

I did all this about a week ago, my relationship was at its worst...since then, we came back to our happy stage. Funny thing is i didn't even know this video existed but YES, it works amazingly good.
