To be fair I get why people dont really respect the player that plays 2 of the top 3 characters in the game, but honestly I think it's just the fact that Leo is entertaining to watch and Acola isn't (at least for me)

@@dragnjames2190 I don't think this has anything to do with the NA bias, specially in this case. It is a bias, but more against Acola since the dude is literally the embodiment of everything wrong with Smash Ultimate. Only plays DLC 2 characters, avoid taking risk at all costs, unoptimized combos because he only play characters that don't need this and characters where risk reward isn't a thing. Factually speaking he is the best player, but saying that out is acknowledging that all this crap about ultimate is true and the game is fundamentaly bad at top level. Sonix suffers from the same thing, just less hate because he is not japanese
@@Lordin_sonix is heavy on optimization tho that’s one of the biggest things ppl talk about with him. He used sonic when many ppl didn’t consider him top tier but managed to make him top 5 in ppls lists bcuz of how much he optimized him and the combos. You’re talking out of your ass

acola does alot of really risky character privilege shit because of the nature of the characters that he plays, but abusing the strengths of your character is what competitive gaming is, also acola could almost definately whoop 100% of the people hating on him on twitter or youtube comments

fundies are dead, you either combo someone to 90% or death, or you camp them out so that they cant combo you, or you pick steve and do both
@@Keeby. The meta has always shifted gradually since the start to prioritizing characters with either strong punish games ( Peach, Yoshi, Wario, Aegis, Roy. ) or obscenely strong gameplans that run the set with little variance between matchups. ( Ala Steve, ROB, Sonic, G&W, Snake, Cloud. )
Fundies are always gonna be there, but being a neutral monster ( like Sheik, Diddy, ZSS, Rosa. ) doesn't mean as much in Ult compared to 4 and Brawl. It's just due to the pace of the game.

You only say that because the player you like more (Spargo) lost. Had he won, you would have been calling him team fundies and the better player. Also, it’s convenient you forget that Spargo has a Pythra, yet you consider him to have more fundies. Fundies aren’t dead, fundies talk is dead. Onin is not bad at the steve matchup. He beat syrup at the big house, winning the tournament over him. Just because he lost to acola doesn't mean he's bad at that matchup.

@@silverpotato4272 How would that punish you? You’re retroactively building limit while the opponent has to switch to mythra to meaningfully counter you. Regardless, it’s a losing matchup, but it’s some extra leeway.

Sparg0 has beaten top aegises, including acola, multiple times, proving that the matchup is winnable. Losing for cloud, yes, but winnable.
And if it’s not working out, he could always try one of his secondaries. No one is forcing him to stay Cloud.
At least Sparg0 himself took the loss in stride. Can’t say the same about some of his fans

I don’t think we watched the same set; Spargo was the one constantly on the aggressive having to be the point and click adventure character where Acola uses Mythra to excel at his best aspect of the game which is his defense and whiff punishing. The amount of waiting, parrying, avoiding or stuffing out of Cloud’s moves whenever Acola had the chance is what made this truly an interesting watch

If it's Spargo or Leo doing egregiously safe and mashable moves over and over again, everyone will hype them up, and if it's Acola doing that it, it's not hype.
