- It has been a LONG while since we've reacted to an "Ultimate Salt Is Real" compilation on this channel, AKA where all the grindy clip stagers all congregate to act as if they got this combo naturally on Elite Smash. Let's harshly judge all these combos and sniff out the ones that are obviously scripted.

I remember back in 2019-2020, those clips were the pinnacle of hype among Smash clips.
Nowadays, with the improved knowledge of the game by the general community, a lot of those clips kind of fall flat. We can now easily sniff out clips that are staged, simply beating up on lower level players, or are not super optimal.
That being said, the Ultimate Salt Is Real definitely improves with more consistently spicy clips later down the line.

Every clip is either staged, against a bad player, done better by a top player, or just bad.
You just can’t win with Marss
I mean, not necessarily bad players, but players that just don’t quite understand defensive play in the way that a more experienced player does yet.
I remember watching this video when it came out and thinking YOOOO! But now that I’ve learned to air dodge, di, and tech more effectively and well, these clips seems more clearly avoidable to me. For some of these, even without air dodges or techs that do absolutely need to be timed correctly, as the opponent could intentionally delay their pressure and/or timing to throw the opponent off and get them to guess the timing wrong on the own defensive options, di’ing away was an obvious choice that just never happened.
Yes, because this video is old, but also because the players were either not taking the nag h seriously to begin with, weren’t really paying attention, weren’t effector playing defense as marss personally would, or were acting in a staged clip.
This is the thing, bro reacted to a video well over a couple years and not a lot into the games lifespan then COMPLAINED that there were not that good when the bar for good clips was so much lower back then like bro 😭
Shoutouts to Styles2x for making me satisfying in this video. Peanut was under the radar and unknown to the world about his little Mac during that time. I’m not sure that this was posted in 2019. But it is a fresh game back then.
Well tbf to the rob vs mewtwo clip at 08:35, there’s always the offstage possibility of “my opponent may be waiting for my to use a defensive option to punish me for guessing their aggression too early” so not just ripping out an air dodge immediately wasn’t necessarily bad, but just not di’ing away at all or at least when offstage was bad.

Sure, most of the time you're just spamming projectiles, fishing for reflect and praying you get at least 1 buff. But when your luck is good and you line up the perfect series of spells like in this clip, then you feel like the best character in the game.

I feel like this dude takes all the fun out of Smash with all the negativity and pretentiousness. Don't get me wrong, he's a great player, but it seems like every other player on the planet that doesn't match his skill level is unimpressive to him. A lot of these clips were either genuinely impressive or, at the very least, entertaining to watch, even for the age of the video. But most of the reactions were just, "*yawn* I've done that before. I did that this morning before breakfast."
This is why I stick to Smash RUclipsrs like Sillintor. Not only is the dude an incredible player, but he's humble and just wants to have fun and make people laugh. There's nothing worse than an elitist video game snob.

Funny thing is i AM that ganon, i was on vacation in Spain and fought this dude in my arena, i won a game by luck
First clip (Sonic vs ROB) seems staged because of it being a 1 stock match. Seems like the Sonic got random damage to make it seem legit, as well as having the timer lower to make it appear as if the game had gone on longer than it really did. However, there’s a quirk with the damage display in Ultimate. The decimal in percent starts at a lower position when the game starts; once a player takes damage, that decimal changes its position (it moves up). This is a permanent thing, lasting between stocks - you can compare ROB’s percent at the start with Sonic’s, as well as seeing the decimal jump upwards once ROB takes damage.
Tbh if I see character names instead of player names I automatically think they are staged
