  • This past weekend I had the privilege of ticking off an experience that's been very high on my bucket list by attending the 2024 edition of the legendary Inferno Festival in Oslo, Norway. Joining me on this grand odyssey was my good friend and fellow Horseman of the Podcasting Apocalypse, Shayan of the band Trivax and the host of Iblis Manifestations. On this episode we discuss our experiences over four incredible days, pick our favourite performances and moments from the weekend and also discuss our panel appearance during the Inferno Conference - among several other topics.
Later I’m also joined by another close friend, the exceptionally talented and always outspoken Katy Irizarry of Suspiria PR and Laetitia Abbenes of NorthStar Media who both work with Inferno and share their perspectives as industry insiders.

Shayan perfectly put into words what it is about, what I've been calling, the more polished and cleanly produced extreme metal bands, and why I lean towards and prefer the more raw, unclean unpolished artists. I definitely love many many "synthetic" (😂 I love his description) artists and bands, many..... but the grimey raw shredded cacophoness (yeah, I made up that word 😅😌) us what resonates most with me 😆🤘😝😌

An absolute blast, as always! 🔥

Awesome episode, it's always so much fun to listen to you and Shayan go on about... well, pretty much everything. :) Had you taken my advice I posted under EP. 150 with David Gray, you wouldn't have been so surprised by In Twilight's Embrace. :P But jokes aside, I'm really happy that you liked my countrymen, they are truly an awesome band and, in my opinion, highly underappreciated. The record Shayan spoke about - "Lawa" (lava in Polish, pronounced the same way as in English) is inspired, to some extent, by the poetic drama "Dziady" from the romanticism period, which among other topics deals with ghosts of ancestors and pagan rituals from pre-christian Poland. You should definitely check it out because it's a true gem! Take care, my man, and keep up the great work!

damn, this episode really brought me back to 07 when i was on inferno first time. Really "retro" feeling as i had very similar experience though i was significantly younger at that time hehe. Almost wondering about revisiting BUT im orthodox beyond the gates-goer as i prefer Bergen to Oslo. Highly recommended to check that fest too though it grew to a monster to what it once was.

When are you two coming to America ?

Ageee with Shayan... I respect highly religious people who really know their religion and can explain why they beleive what they believe. Dogma is despicable, both religious or atheistic
