  • Charles Hedger (aka Ghul) of Mayhem is my guest on what is, without a doubt, one of my favourite episodes of the podcast to date. We discuss everything from the making of “Daemon” to his joining the band, working out on the road, film scores and more. I also review the latest records by Kalt Vindur and Selbst and ask whether Anaal Nathrakh has run out of ideas in my roundup of the latest metal news.

Daemon is the best Mayhem album since De Mysteriis in my opinion, it's beyond great to hear them return to the type of sound and feeling I enjoy as much as DMDS, since it came out I've listened to it countless times.

This one was extra good. To be honest this one should be listened by every person regardless of their interest and taste in music. Interviews like this are what still makes me remember that internet is also a very very good tool to educate and better yourself and not just a weird digital battle space for ignorant nonsense. This works great if you are here just for the music but lets face it: Here we have a dude from a band named - MAYHEM - giving a well spoken talk about some very important and timeless matters and if that isn't a great example of the awesome people that are involved in this extreme music genre I don't know what is. I tip my virtual hat to thee and tonight I shall revisit Wolfs Lair Abyss after a loooong time 👊

That's definitely a favourite of mine too. If you enjoyed that episode and haven't checked them out yet, then make sure you listen to my chats with Sam Bean, Allan Averill and Katy Irizarry.

What a pleasure to hear these chaps articulating every day life. Great to hear such honesty that frames the love of music. We need more voices like these boyos.

I only came here because I was a massive CoF fangirl back in the day. Glad I did. It would be great to hear his opinions on more abstract, philosophical, spiritual and geopolitical subjects. Seems like someone who could make you question a few things that should be questioned.

Thanks for the great feedback and glad you enjoyed it. I actually reached out to Teloch a while ago, but his answer was as follows:
"Thanks for your interest, but I’m not really into podcasts haha (sorry)"
Hopefully he changes his mind at some point. 😁

I imagine he probably gets a ton of requests like mine every day so I understand why he'd decline. But agree - hopefully he changes his mind. Definitely one of the guests I'd be most interested in having on, that's for sure.
