Atilla's such a nice and humble guy. Always willing to have a chat aboot w/e and help folks out. Always thankful for him helpin' me get overtones properly in my throat singing. P sure I owe him a pint if I see him again. Nice to see he's still talkin' aboot the "crying muscles" we chatted aboot at a Gravetemple gig. He's the only vocalist besides Devin Townsend who intimidates me w/ their talent within metal, but as this *amazing* interview shows he's always willing to help folks get better at their own style. Awesome video. Thank you very much. And thank you for letting Attila talk shop this way - I enjoyed the hell out of it. Attila's on top of my list of "publicly known people I'd love to have a chat with talking about anything but the stuff they're most known for".
Love that he's talking about this. As a vocalist since 2012, and maybe a few years prior, I relate. In the beginning it sorta hurts to do black metal vocals, especially when you are young and your voice just isn't developed fully. My earliest shows, I could totally feel myself trying to overcompensate when I couldn't hear myself on stage, and it would definitely thrash my voice up a bit. Eventually I learned to not do that, but honestly, the biggest improvements have been made through the recording experience (trying to record vocals frequently), and getting older.
Can you do Emperor Magus Caligula next or Legion? Both huge legends in black metal. Love Attila. Only Mayhrm I can listen to is De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas and Ordo Ad Chao. He has some insane vocals on them albums. Without him De Mysteriis wouldn't sound and feel as eerie and dark as it does
Funny that even though I also (just like him) play in a Black Metal band and I am very much into the BM scene, we both grew up with the same influences. Obviously because we are from the same generation, but funny that we eneded up following the same path.
Keep these videos coming, Man …this is an excellent series and there’s a serious lack of information like this for extreme vocalists to digest & learn from. These are GOLD. Thank U
Yeah pretty much every black metal from the 80s is influenced by punk...Celtic Frost, Bathory, Sarcofago, Tormentor, early Mayhem, Goatlord, Sadistik Exekution, etc all mentioned punk as part of their influences
It's so funny that he is a really good vocalist, but doesn't know how to just talk in a microphone. Either way, he makes all the strong points one like me, a beginner live vocalist, should follow. There aren't a lot like him, especially in black metal, unfortunately...
@@botondnagy7649 Yeah! Dead is Dead, and DEADER! Look for it in the beauty section. Promise, every photo u see will never grow more dead no matter how much time goes by. Eternal Un-Deading! Thats a perk!

He was one of my dream guests for this video series. I have always admired him a lot when it comes to the vocals. Really amazing vocalist. =)
The Greatest ever
The TORMENTOR first 2 demos were incredible 😊
The honesty, the passion is a testament of his longevity. I had the chance to meet him in Toronto years ago, he's very talented. Thank you for this!

Attila looks like he fell asleep at a random party and had his hair cut off by members of Mayhem.

Attila seems like a pretty cool guy
I only need vocal lessons from Attila! Many thanks for this interview!

I can definitely try to get them IF they are willing to do it. =)
@@chaoszine appreciate it bro.
Omg, Caligula and Legion are two my favorite singers. You got great taste, man.
it helps not losing his voice that his vocal style is basically throat singing which is not very damaging on your vocal chords.

Running Wild ❤
Amazing that he loves GBH
He has strong punk roots 😊🤟
@@chaoszine Yeah I see that! this is so cool
Not really that amazing, a lot of black metal was influenced by punk/crust.

The best hair & the best moustache - he's a trendleader. This shit is gonna catch on for sure
Ive seen a similar mustache before. Cant remember where though 🤨
@fiorovante: Chaplin?
You should do Niklas Kvarforth! These interviews are amazing and a breath of fresh air to the overdone and lame, scripted interviews we usually get!
A Dead Kennedys shout out!!
A great metal frontman and best entertainer ever
I swear his hair keeps getting more ridiculous, the mustache is also interesting lmao
That haircut is a real strange choice

Wow 😮, he aged, haven’t seen him in awhile. What the hell did he do to his head? It’s not a good look for him.
What's this guy's problem anyway, he should find God Hashem the lord 🔊
God Hashem? You're saying hey hey hey hey smoke weed everyday?
I met and cooked for him at the restaurant I worked in several years ago.
