"24 months is a long time and people break up" literally defines my current predicament. Currently 20k in debt due to a past relationship that I'm trying to work out now. Definitely learned a life lesson.
I really wanted to be on this show, but In December I turned my shit around and have lowered my debt by about 2k a month for the past 2 months. And watching this channel was a huge motivator.
I think it would be good for the show to compare the bank statements of someone who budgets, uses credit cards and pays them off every month and is working on a debt repayment plan on car, student and mortgage loans. A side by side comparison could be fun
You can tell this guy has a great heart, and my soul was crushed when he mentioned the restaurant bankruptcy situation. I hope he can clean this up, life is a journey not a sprint!
Whenever I have the urge to online shop, I watch this channel instead… Props to this guy for sharing his story, it must have been very difficult. I appreciate his vulnerability and hope for the best for him. Hope he can learn from everything, and come out wiser and stronger. Stick to the budget and save, save, save! Best of luck 🤙
It was less than a minute in! But he was just shocked that was his full time job. Because that is a crummy gig! Wait wait what.. 1,500 a week .. 😮I just started .. Caleb means well he can’t help his reactions, I know because I’m like that too 😅
And to finance a mattress as well? That baffles me. Just like with TV's you cam get cheaper ones. Sure. My personal one cost about 1500 AUD but I bought a quick spare for the guest room in December that cost me just over 300 AUD. So about 150 US? Though, I did go for a high tier TV. When I got it it was retailing at about 1800 but I got it on auction (damaged packaging so retailer couldn't sell it) got it for 600. It's been my TV/computer screen for 8 years now
I was forced into a situation of riding a bus since my card died and I didn’t have an emergency fund and these videos have really given me a reality check and I’m building my budget now to get all my debt gone and a new car wish me luck !
Literally have done a 180 on my mentality regarding my finances. I've lived my entire life sweeping that portion of life under the rug, ignoring it as much as possible. Since I've been following you I've quietly noticed my thinking is entirely different. I'm shocked because I didn't think I'd ever be able to change. Thank you for being the voice that I needed Caleb.
Kinda sounds like the step dad or father was a majority of that pain. Still if she had incorporated the restaurant, had its own checking account, the judge shouldn’t have been able to freeze those assets. People with businesses go through divorce all the time, they don’t get those business accounts frozen or the businesses would die.
What a good episode. This guys has made mistakes but some of it was just bad luck and he owns all of it. He’s not making excuses and shirking blame. I hope things turn around for him because he seems like a genuinely good guy willing to accept his mistakes and work to solve it
I just want to say that I’ve recently been binging all of your videos and now it’s a weird addiction that has helped me think about my current situation- where I could be in a lot worse position- but I could also be in a much better one! Thank you!
@@christopheryou5040 sorry but this comment is just dumb. There are wages that would destroy most commission based jobs, and hard work doesn't always result in higher or more frequent sales. Sometimes there isn't much demand and you're left holding no bag. Commission can be good but saying it's outright better than a wage is goofy.
@@christopheryou5040potential to make more money doesn't equal guaranteed money. He's not in a position to be gambling with potential earnings. If he has a steady income in addition to a commission based job then that's cool. But he should stick to steady (as steady as possible) income because he can always budget around that. Whether it's 17$ an hour or 40$ an hour.
This guy is brave to come on here and I think his story is very relatable even if people aren’t in his exact situation. The moral of the story is extremely relatable and I commend him for coming on here and putting it all on the table 👏🏼
I started watching all the Financial Audits chronologically in early February. I’m now caught up! It’s going to be weird watching these as they come out 😂 I hope one day I’ll be on the show 😁 I’m very invested into this show!!
My small RUclips channel just popped off and the first thing I did was put away 50% for taxes + emergency fund. I wouldn't have done either of these two things if it hadn't been for you. I just started watching you about 1.5 months ago because of your shorts. You've put me on the right path and I can't thank you enough. Your virtual slaps around the face of others felt like slaps around my face and you have woken me up at the age of 28.
bankruptcy paralegal here. it depends on the creditor but it’s usually 30-90 days of missed payments when they start the repo process. and if he voluntary surrenders the car, he could still be liable for the debt since he didn’t surrender it under the bankruptcy. if he had an attorney, he should ask them how that works post discharge.
I’m currently 18 years old and I have to give some credit to Caleb for motivating me to start saving as much of my income while I still can. I am really grateful for this content.
Yea I started with credit mid 20s and took a few years to get it going. Wish I started in late teens that's for sure. Am now almost 100k available credit lines on the good part.
In debt for family, owe money to partner, and 500+ car payment, credit score under 600 need to be on the Financial Audit bingo card! Wishing this guy the best, he seems like a decent person who made a few big financial mistakes - I think the bankruptcy could be a wake up call (but also pretty traumatic I imagine)
I love having no car debt. I own a 4x4 and a sedan that I paid 5000 for total. Having only one car would be smarter, but when you save money by driving 90s vehicles, I think it's wise to have another one for backup in case of mechanical issues. Can't miss work.
It's so good! I also like to watch clips of the Ramsey channel but I don't agree with what all the personalities have to say about the callers so I was happy to also find this channel!
I've been watching your show for about 6mo now and have tackled my CC debt. Stacking up for an emergency fund. Then onto a home purchase. I'm looking at around beg of 2024 paying off all debt, having an e fund saved, down payment ready for a home. Snowball method is growing my credit score, at the same time crushing my CC debt. Also I've learned to budget every penny.
Thats crazy what Caleb said at the end. This guy was the most receptive to what you said of any guest that youve had. He made 0 excuses and owned his mistakes. He's only 25 so he has time. Also, Caleb if you see this I would love to come on. I need some help myself.
Perhaps the first guy on here who has taken accountability for his mess and looks motivated to get things done. He never once blamed someone else for his mess . This guy will succeed in future for sure . Good luck man . Want to see a follow up video for sure .
I bet this man will become successful in the next couple of years. You can hear it in his voice how bad he wants it. And is very well spoken. Failure comes before success. Props to him for trying to open the restaurant. I'm sure he learned a lot. And will become successful in the next few years.
I feel you, i was horrible with credit cards. Drowning in them and decided to do Debt Relief as I was bad at money management and couldn't pay em off myself. Then quit my job and got something more steady and have been managing money a lot better and finally started a savings. It's a nice feeling not having to worry about a rainy day.

I am so incredibly glad I found this channel. My financial life started doing a complete nose dive after getting my first credit card and I havent been able to get it above water. But now I'm like ok no that is unacceptable for me. And I have finally managed to make a plan to take care of my 3 credit cards and 1 personal loan so hopefully within a year (a year and a half max) I will have that all completely gone and can start actually building my retirement fund/savings account and home owner fund. 🤞🤞 wish me luck! I am going to be working all the hours under the sun so pray I dont burn out before the end of all this.

I like this guys calm demeanor and I was excited hearing he’s looking to join law enforcement. Wishing you the best in that endeavor. Pay cut at first but you’ll see it will get much better in time
I know this is cliche but this channel has gotten me so much more into finance and getting my spending under control. I feel like so much financial RUclips is just full of cryptobros and wealthy investment stuff which I’m sure has some good information but it all kinda goes over my head or sounds like bs. This channel is so easy to understand and makes it easy to see the big picture. So glad I came across it
Caleb, I'm so glad to watch your journey from about 30k-40k subs (when I started supporting you) to 200k + subs. You've been grinding like hell, and I hope it's paying off man. Keep following your dream, and use these financial audits to help educate and entertain people (especially young folks) on personal finance.
Written budgets are so very important. Even if you think things are too bad to have it help, it does. 1)Knowing what you owe, 2)who you owe it to, 3)what the finance charges are 4) and WHEN things are due, 5) and where your money is kept, is critical. I've been using a budget for 30 years. It's allowed us to retire a little early. We aren't rich but it allows us a bit of relief from anxiety.
Unfortunately caffeine becomes an addiction and it isn't that easy for some people to just quit cold turkey. Wish you the best man, you're a very well spoken guy, feel like you could make more money selling cars over water heaters, or even a real estate agent. You seem like a very approachable person.
I do wanna thank you Caleb. Your videos have inspired me financially in a way never before. I turned 44 back in January, so while less screwed than most of the people on your channel, I'm more screwed because they are roughly 20 years younger. I'm a single dad, so a little more difficult to get out of debt, but your channel has inspired me to push myself. By the end of this year, I should be debt free for the first time in my adult life. Already told my almost 15 year old daughter we will be able to go on our first vacation next summer. For all the younger people out there, keep debt low, and invest(preferably in good dividend stocks) as much as you can. Financing everything costs you so much more. Been beating(not literally) into my daughter's head. Good luck to everyone, esp the younger people, who have been taught to get it now.
Take a lot of guts to go Up there and open Up about something so personal like your finances. I'm learning a lot from this videos. Thank you Caleb and all the guests for this knowledge and inspiration.
He seems like a very capable & self-aware young man. Much more so than the other guests. I've got confidence he can do better, especially recognizing the problem and being realistic about his future.
Terrible series of unfortunate circumstances. You will get through this and be wiser for it. Suffering for a time so that you can be free later is so worth it. Get rid of your stuff!
Ha I was with a guy for 7yr and we broke up. We'd all love our relationship to go forever but unfortunately life is life/love is love - never a guarantee
Caleb is going to be that fantastic parent, that the kids will hate …. until they absorb the message and get the groove. Then they will know how great his advice is.
It's so sad that a parent will bring their child into a new business venture without being financially secured. I hope the debt was shared with the mother. I feel bad for him but he is opening his eyes, he can come out of this. Is there a follow up on this story?
If we all could jump on a train or bus and know we didn't have to walk far from the station to our job or house and we could save the $800/month from not having a car most of us would love that. I moved to NY a few years back to work a job for a few years and I walked 25 min to the train and the train took me within a 5 min walk to my job. I got to relax and play on my phone without worrying about hurting someone and the train ticket was $100/month for unlimited rides between those 2 stations. I worked 7 days a week. I think only once a month there was an issue on the train but usually it was a 5 min delay. The only complaint is having to move your body.
As European I fucking hate being on a bus with a passion. Tired of waiting for a bus, always having to manage time on bus schedule, can’t be out too late cuz buses stop going after a certain time if you’re further away from the big city etc. don’t fucking do it.

You can tell this guy has a great heart, and my soul was crushed when he mentioned the restaurant bankruptcy situation. I hope he can clean this up, life is a journey not a sprint!
He has a hinged sub and hotel receipts on his debit card...
He's cheating on his girlfriend...
Good heart, lol...
Whenever I have the urge to online shop, I watch this channel instead…
Props to this guy for sharing his story, it must have been very difficult. I appreciate his vulnerability and hope for the best for him. Hope he can learn from everything, and come out wiser and stronger. Stick to the budget and save, save, save! Best of luck 🤙
Same 😂
It’s astonishing how easily this salesman is sold on absolutely terrible deals.
“You can’t afford a hotel or resorts. You can’t even afford a TV…cancel that shit” lost it 😂
You know it’s a good episode when Caleb admits “I don’t like you” within the first minute
It was less than a minute in!
But he was just shocked that was his full time job. Because that is a crummy gig! Wait wait what.. 1,500 a week .. 😮I just started ..
Caleb means well he can’t help his reactions, I know because I’m like that too 😅
Oh my goodness you’re so right
dis gonna be good!
@@lukecarlson6863 my thoughts exactly! Been feeling like this lately.
@@lukecarlson6863 it was justified in this case
Tv's are so damn cheap now also. A 55 inch is like $200-$400 now, there's no reason to finance this kind of stuff
Exactly
$75 for 24 months… who buys a tv for $1800🤦♂️
And to finance a mattress as well?
That baffles me.
Just like with TV's you cam get cheaper ones.
Sure. My personal one cost about 1500 AUD but I bought a quick spare for the guest room in December that cost me just over 300 AUD.
So about 150 US?
Though, I did go for a high tier TV. When I got it it was retailing at about 1800 but I got it on auction (damaged packaging so retailer couldn't sell it) got it for 600. It's been my TV/computer screen for 8 years now
@@baconcerberus maybe if you want like an 55 inch oled? Then it could cost around that price.
I got a 65in 4k tv for $329 on black friday forreal
I was forced into a situation of riding a bus since my card died and I didn’t have an emergency fund and these videos have really given me a reality check and I’m building my budget now to get all my debt gone and a new car wish me luck !
you got this! i had to ride the bus for almost 2 years before i had access to a car.
@@bellissimabombshell Or you can get a bike :)
Takes so much courage to be on here.
Absolutely
Yeah, im pretty decent with money but Id still start sweating when caleb got to my food budget
We are SPOILED this week! Thank you Caleb!
I’m only at the beginning of the video but I love how pure reactions Caleb has - all the time. We would be great friends
Poor Caleb - Friendzoned already :D #purereaction
🤣
I can’t believe that his mother would put him in a situation like that. I would never ever do something like that to my son in 1 million years!
Thank you!
I think the exact same way.
Same here. currently working to improve!
I’m obsessed as well, like watched them and now rewatching when there’s no new episode 😅
Same!
This guy just needs to ditch this commission job and go for a more stable, predictable one with steady paychecks.
Forreal.
@@stillnotchill2560 And calling his comment dumb proves you're yourself being dumb. Stop talking until you mature a bit.
He says he’s doing that in the episode
@@christopheryou5040potential to make more money doesn't equal guaranteed money. He's not in a position to be gambling with potential earnings. If he has a steady income in addition to a commission based job then that's cool. But he should stick to steady (as steady as possible) income because he can always budget around that. Whether it's 17$ an hour or 40$ an hour.
I've learned so much about the way people deal with money from these videos. The psychology behind this is so alien to me.
This feels like a self plug more than genuine comment.
You just want viewers for your channel
Ehhh your doing pretty gud keep grinding surfer dude 🏄♀️ 🌊 🏄♂️
bankruptcy paralegal here. it depends on the creditor but it’s usually 30-90 days of missed payments when they start the repo process. and if he voluntary surrenders the car, he could still be liable for the debt since he didn’t surrender it under the bankruptcy. if he had an attorney, he should ask them how that works post discharge.
hes so flat broke, he couldnt hire an attorney anyway. People without attorneys then start to "wing it", and always get screwed
This young man seems so sweet and genuine. Really hope he’s doing well.
I’m currently 18 years old and I have to give some credit to Caleb for motivating me to start saving as much of my income while I still can. I am really grateful for this content.
Make sure to get started on building your credit rating. Will make your life easier as you get older.
Yea I started with credit mid 20s and took a few years to get it going. Wish I started in late teens that's for sure. Am now almost 100k available credit lines on the good part.
You are unbelievably fortunate to stumble across content like this at such a young age that can have a huge impact on your life
Keep it going son
In debt for family, owe money to partner, and 500+ car payment, credit score under 600 need to be on the Financial Audit bingo card! Wishing this guy the best, he seems like a decent person who made a few big financial mistakes - I think the bankruptcy could be a wake up call (but also pretty traumatic I imagine)

I love having no car debt. I own a 4x4 and a sedan that I paid 5000 for total. Having only one car would be smarter, but when you save money by driving 90s vehicles, I think it's wise to have another one for backup in case of mechanical issues. Can't miss work.
I have no car
But I have 5 pro road bicycles. LoL

This show has totally inspired me to rethink my finances! Been binge watching since finding this channel.
You mean not atleast for the next 15 years..the hole is that deep
Why are these so binge-worthy?! One of my favorite things to watch, keep up the good work Caleb!
Caleb you’re awesome I’m 24 and you inspired me to begin building credit. Thank you for all you do for the youth that have no financial guidance.
When he said vacation, the timeshare alarm bells started ringing in my head but when he said locked in for 20 years I dead near choked on my multivitamin. 16:58
A mess!
i’m sorry i don’t rly understand time shares or why it raised alarms but why would someone have a 20 year membership for it..?

I don't really know much about timeshares, so he pays monthly for 3 years, so what's the 20 yr lock in mean?
My credit score jumped 62 points today because of you Caleb. Thanks!
Credit score is not your friend.
Just more debt
I am so incredibly glad I found this channel. My financial life started doing a complete nose dive after getting my first credit card and I havent been able to get it above water. But now I'm like ok no that is unacceptable for me. And I have finally managed to make a plan to take care of my 3 credit cards and 1 personal loan so hopefully within a year (a year and a half max) I will have that all completely gone and can start actually building my retirement fund/savings account and home owner fund. 🤞🤞 wish me luck! I am going to be working all the hours under the sun so pray I dont burn out before the end of all this.
Really grateful for this show, shined a big light on what I need to do to help teach my kids about money when they come to that stage and the responsibility of going into debt and what's a good debt and what's bad debt, thank you all and I wish the best of luck for this fella
Since finding this channel I live my life like I am about to go on the show soon trying not to get yelled at for buying bullshit 😂

I like this guys calm demeanor and I was excited hearing he’s looking to join law enforcement. Wishing you the best in that endeavor. Pay cut at first but you’ll see it will get much better in time
Gah dam Caleb was out for blood today. “Oh yea you mean like your negative account” I spat out my water 😂😂😂
What an intelligent articulate young man. Good luck on your journey to financial freedom!
You should audit a family budget, maybe a family with kids. Might be fun to have the couple on together
There’s a video 11 months ago “ every debt imaginable” 4 kids, sahm, single income family
I feel there is 8 thumbnails that say “Worst” in it and they are all true😂
Exactly lol
Binge watching all the financial audits on a Friday! It’s a good day. 😎
So glad I came across it
It doesn't just sound like bs. It actually is! What caleb is offering is legit wisdom.
These cases are so stressful but your background is so calming! Beautiful set up. Love the blue!
damn caleb was brutal. I actually liked this guy and I hope he's going to do well! would love a follow up after 8-12 mos
Yea this dude is trying, he just made some mistakes trying to achieve something
Yeah I really felt he was overly unkind about the guy's job.
The instant squint of disdain when Caleb confirmed he sells hot water heaters “to people.” If Caleb had laser vision dude would’ve been DONE FOR. 😂😂😂

When Caleb responds with "hmmmmhmmmm" - it is a bad thing.
1)Knowing what you owe,
2)who you owe it to,
3)what the finance charges are
4) and WHEN things are due,
5) and where your money is kept, is critical.
I've been using a budget for 30 years. It's allowed us to retire a little early. We aren't rich but it allows us a bit of relief from anxiety.
I’m rooting for him. I hope he finds success.
WAKE UP EVERYONE! New Financial Audit just dropped! 🤩
Man coming out of left field several times. Vacation thing, financed bed, ch 7, etc. Droppin bombs
20:29 I am ON THE FLOOR. Caleb's dry comments on people's relationship status are top notch!
Unfortunately caffeine becomes an addiction and it isn't that easy for some people to just quit cold turkey. Wish you the best man, you're a very well spoken guy, feel like you could make more money selling cars over water heaters, or even a real estate agent. You seem like a very approachable person.
My last partner couldn't go 30 minutes without coffee. She drank about 20 daily. She ended up losing the plot. I had to leave for my own sanity
Good luck to everyone, esp the younger people, who have been taught to get it now.
that is so inspiring!!! congrats!🎉🎉
This show is so relatable!!!
Here it is! Get the popcorn ready for this one folks. 🍿
Caleb is going to be that fantastic parent, that the kids will hate …. until they absorb the message and get the groove. Then they will know how great his advice is.
I laughed out loud when the vacation club subscription was revealed. What a dumb thing to get roped into for 3 years!
I think this is my favorite channel on RUclips now.
I appreciate that your back to uploading Audits a few times a week! Literally my favorite videos to watch by you!
Man that is VERY correct..."easiest people to sell to, are salesmen". I'm a salesman and he's 100% right.
the way Caleb say about people dont riding the bus after driving a car is accurate but in hard times some people do that and more
It's so sad that a parent will bring their child into a new business venture without being financially secured. I hope the debt was shared with the mother. I feel bad for him but he is opening his eyes, he can come out of this. Is there a follow up on this story?
He seemed sweet! Rooting for you!!! Would love to see some videos of these people months later and out of debt!
I’m addicted to this channel!! Never stop making videos Caleb
Is it just me or has Caleb become America's biggest bus advocate??? 😂
Low bar
Guess he’s retired from Panda Express recruiting.
I’m 61. Own my own home. No debt.
No car. I love the bus. LoL
My husband and I had one car for years when we lived in Austin! And we weren’t even debt! It was totally fine. It’s interesting to see this guy so shaken up by it, especially since it’s just temporary.
You know whats good? That hes 25 and have experienced all this (messy parent divorce, bankruptcy, falling for the vacay thing) and seems like he can only improve from here...i hope!!
He can give the car back to the finance company without any repercussions. He filed it in chapter 7 and the debt wasn't reaffirmed. Call the dealer and give it back today.
I didn’t think I was doing to bad, but once I started watching your videos I have realize how bad I was really doing.
Yes. He needs to get his money together now, more than ever. Especially since he just got a newish start.
