Hey Caleb, I wanted to say big thanks for eliminating the dramatic preview of the episodes. You recognize that we're watching the whole thing and don't need the preview to stay. 👍
When she said "I don't care about money," I had to stop and wonder why she even signed up for this. It feels like a lot of the people on this show are just hoping their choices will be validated, rather than actually being interested in learning and fixing their finances.
The “I don’t care about money” or “money isn’t real!” Mentality that some of these folks have blows my mind. I mean it’s clear that it’s a defense or deflection method, but it won’t change the fact that money IS something they need to get smart about and fast lol
This, I just started watching this show and the episodes I've seen with "arrogant Christians" (not knocking the religion) almost seem dumbstruck that Caleb isn't validating them. It's crazy.
@@omotayosatuyi252She’s a liar… right from the start she lied about average income. Her Mom never said that, she’s just BSing to preserve this image as a “good financially responsible Christian” fantasy that she created.
Can’t deal with the terminal uniqueness. My wishes are different from everybody else, my wants are special, my life plan isn’t ordinary, my vision for my future is not like other peoples’. Girl, you want to make money doing your hobby and you don’t want to work a job you hate. That’s what pretty much everybody wants.
She’s counting on the Gubberment to forgive all her student loans and for “Lesbian Dance Theory” to suddenly become a super hot career field. She’s playing chess while the rest of us are playing checkers (at least in her mind).
This young woman has come from a privileged family. They enable her to remain carefree and whimsical at the age of 24. She got a 75% reduction on her college tuition due to her mother’s job, paid $3000 for a car from her father that is probably worth at least $15,000 and is on her parent’s health insurance. Reality has not yet hit her. It’s difficult to think about retirement in your 20s but that’s the time to start saving. Best of luck, kid.
I bet mom and dad are paying all her medical bills too. Since it doesn't take much to rack those up. Got poison sumac once and had to get a shot to treat it. That out me out $500 easy. Wait till she is 26 and gets a bill for an emergency room visit
I've noticed Caleb has a lot of "freelance"-type, work for yourself folks on this show, and not have dedicated retirement for these people is definitely a disadvantage from having a "normal" job which will almost force you to have a 401K. In your 20s you often need your work to really push you to have retirement savings.
Currently home from work sick... My mom was dropping some stuff off and goes "Are you really listening to finance videos... when you're home sick... from your job...IN finance?" 😅 No pneumonia is gonna stop me from having HAMMER TIME
@@tymondabrowski12 Lol.... Being homeless for anyone can be dangerous. There are massive amounts of women only shelters as well as shelters that cater for women. Compared to the amount of men who are denied and not able to get any place, or have to share with tons of other men. Have you ever been to a woman only shelter compared to a communal shelter? Women only shelters have private rooms. Being homeless as a woman... You really have to have messed up.
She said hope and faith is her plan of action. However, It is written that faith without works is dead. She needs do her part to secure her own future.
we were blessed with common sense... well, some of us anyway... along with skills and counsel. What's the point of asking for help and not listening to the advice when it is wise counsel? This young lady will see the wisdom in these words someday.
"i have other priorities, I dont care about the money", whilst piggybacking on all family members, Mum's moving cities for collage discount, arguing with Airbnb hosts and staying with church members. Great that those "average people" care about the money....
You don’t HAVE to go to college and you don’t HAVE to major in something silly. Me and my husband both clear 6 figures and we used the military to pay for school. We both majored in engineering. It’s not that complicated, you just have to be willing to work hard. Or you can have fun goofing off for four years and spend a lot more time paying it off with a crappy salary. But no one makes you choose such a frivolous career path. 😂
Lol im 20 and never went to college i went to a trade school and im making over 20 hr my hourly wage is more than my age i think thats is pretty good for the area i live
Generations of kids were sold the idea that a college degree guaranteed future success. The delusion is in believing that all degrees are created equal.
You should look at her last quarterly tax statement. And really you should ask every guest what last years gross income as reported to the IRS was. Then they can’t say “it was a weird month”
Yes, the weird month is annoying because it’s the crutch to lighten the blow the audit is. Last year’s gross income reported is great but I imagine covid would affect a lot of that
After watching multiple of these videos, I can't believe that everybody has a weird month with those big purchases that only happened that month that also happened to be on this show! How crazy that it ends up like that? Definitely not like everybody so far makes bad big purchases every month
@@vanguard6937 I mean she only has one card and even with that balance she was at a 30% utilization with 3 times that saved in cash and at least claims to not be carrying a balance month to month and has a 700+ credit score. she def isn't as bad as the rest of the guests by a mile. he even ends the show admitting she is financially doing better then average. these comments are going HARD.
@@Sadreath paying interest on 5k in taxes is still better then most of these people by a few miles. not going to go to prison over that amount or anything.
She read “It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.” And took it as a personal challenge
It’s crazy when you’re 23 and you feel like your body is going to hold up forever and you can work until you’re 80. Then as you go through life and your body starts to break down you start telling yourself you don’t want to go to work anymore and you should have listened to Caleb. She’s talking about doing stunts too that’s a lot of wear and tear on your body. I destroyed my body in the army but thankfully I have always had a thing for finances and I’m retired at 38
If I could summarize every video. Caleb: "You have dug yourself pretty far down into a deep hole. You need to start climbing up." Guest: "Well, what if I just start digging the hole more slowly instead?"
she has some savings, a 700+ credit score, no outrageous credit card debt she cant afford to pay off and 100% federal loans and clearly a financially secure background. her hole is pretty shallow compared to the rest of these episodes tbh. If she doesn't want to work more and is fine with the trade offs thats her prerogative tbh, at least she didnt lie and act like she was going to take his advice. good candid conversation exploring contrasting life philosophies.
Caleb I have followed you since you were at 1.1k subs. I know that you are still figuring out your style, but MAN are you hitting the nail on the head recently. Super impressed with your line of questioning, and honestly, I am blown away with your ability to just bite your tongue during some of these conversations. Keep up the incredible work, I can’t wait to see you hit 50k!
I discovered this channel only a few weeks ago and… This format is amazing and Caleb is perfect for this (financial knowledge, listening skills, firm communication when needed…) I’m French and I wish he knew French financial market and economy realities here to have the same show for French people! We’re not big on credit cards and usually use immediate debit cards, we don’t have crazy student loans but… it’s still possible to get in debt or be irresponsible with your money without those. Especially since here, money is super taboo (even between close friends, family members and even spouses sometimes…) so a lot of people don’t have a clue how to handle money wisely and would benefit from this show and from Caleb’s advice so much! This guy deserves millions of followers. Saving the financial lives of the people audited but also the people watching the show!! Thanks a lot Caleb!
the pure definition of "adult children " I don't feel bad about her. She is where she is because of her own decisions. What gets me the most is, even if she won't admit it, she has a big ego. she looks down on regular working people. She acts as if regular 9-5 jobs are beneath her. Most be nice to be able to say, "I just don't care about money" when you know you can always go back to your parents
I would love to see some of these young people to mentally put themselves into the future they are creating, but they don't understand it, I did the same and have so much regret. But I didn't have anyone telling me there was a better way, I had to figure it out the hard way!
I always get confused when Caleb asks the guests a question about themselves and their reply is "me?" "How much do you take home each month?" "Me?" Like who else would he be talking about.
My mom also planned to work until she died and never retire and then she began disabled at 62 and has been completely unable to work at all. You can't always just go get a different job.
These videos are a huge wakeup call. I used to spend like an idiot without planning for anything. Now i go through every monthly statement to see what I am doing wrong and how much I bring in. Thank you for your work caleb, appreciate it!
She talks a lot about how she's 'not average', then goes on about how much better she is than other people while not seeming to realize that's what's she's saying. She definitely feels superior to everyone around her. I think the reason she doesn't want to do door dash or uber is because she can't stand 'serving' anyone and works be horrified if someone saw her publicly in a position that wasn't considered superior to others. Meanwhile my husband does this sort of work between music opportunities, which is his passion in life, in order to save for emergencies and retirement, and he makes contacts with people in various industries during small talk on uber rides to and from the airport. She's not willing to do anything it takes to provide security for herself. Sacifice is part of success. It's frustrating to watch, because I know people like this. One is 50 with a husband and 2 grown kids, doing random pleas for money online to people she knows so they can pay for repairs, take care of the 4 stray dogs and 3 cats that eat better than they do, and cover medical bills. She fancies herself a writer, too good for the service industry jobs in the area. Arrrggggh, these types are so triggering!
I’m 52. I got serious about finances in my 30’s. I was in college trying to better myself, I promised myself I’d never be broke again. I worked full time and a part time job to get out of debt. I was a divorced mom of 3 at the time! If you are young, please start thinking about your future and start saving for when you are older! Trust me, time flies. Work hard now so later in life you won’t be stressing over money! This young gal needs to get organized and write out her budget. She seems to be underemployed. I hope this wakes her up a bit to be more proactive in her future.
She is so privileged to be able to say she’s above sacrificing now for her future. Acting like door dash and Uber is too beneath her. She’s clearly never had to face any really hardship in life because mommy and daddy are her back up plan. Until she experiences true hardship, she’s never going to be motivated enough to want to change and make a sacrifice. When older people talk about us younger people being lazy, they’re talking about her lol.
Youre so privileged, you dont know what the word "privileged" actually means. There is nothing wrong with privilege. There is no reason to feel guilty, because you arent dirt poor, scrounging through a landfill for food. She is not "privileged", because she is making poor life decisions. You Zoomer dorks are so pathetic. The most cynical, pessimistic, whinny, TOXIC, generation this world has ever known. Grow up.
I’m really confused why she did this video. She has the attitude that she’s doing what she loves and nothing else matters which is so unrealistic. Why do the video if you’re not willing to listen to ANY advice from someone who actually can help you? She’s in a much worse position than she thinks she is. She’s barely getting by and is just ignoring it. I’d love to see where she is in 2-3 years.
I had the same mentality as her till I was in my 40's. My mother used to say, "You can play now and work for the rest of your life, or, you can work hard now so you can play as much as you want later." I chose the former and now I am having to work hard while dealing with all the issues that come with getting older. Not to mention that I have been in debt for my whole adult life. I finally started working just a little bit harder and playing a little less in the past couple of years and I am close to being debt free.
Oh my gosh! When I heard her say …she had to call her mom to find her a space to stay ….she’s how old? As a parent, I would be having a VERY serious conversation with my daughter/son and also asking myself the serious question of what have I done? As a parent, my job is too “work myself out of job.” By 24, my son/daughter should 100% be making ALL of their own calls for a place to stay, their doctor appointments, etc etc. Otherwise …I have FAILED them and I’m telling them by my behaviors that I have NO life of my own. Of course, I do and will always deeply love my child, regardless. But love doesn’t mean enabling them and keeping them dependent on me so I feel needed! I see this enabling and infantilizing of grown children so much - it’s truly heartbreaking and quite deeply concerning.
The unspoken thing here once we get to the last ten minutes is that in her undergraduate educational environment and with her religious background, she has never expected or been expected to be the primary breadwinner for her life past her twenties. So why plan for retirement or a longer term emergency fund.
I had to pause the video when you got to retirement. So one of my grandmothers did not set herself up for success. She’s 80 and my family are the ones paying for everything because she made bad financial decisions all her life. I know we’re enabling the behavior and I had this discussion with my family. This a prime example why I’m getting myself together. It doesn’t sound like she wants to take a job that she doesn’t like for higher pay. However, it’s temporary. You get the job, pay off debt, start investments, 1 year of emergency fund then go back to what you love. Nothing is permanent and when you look at it that way you won’t feel like you have to be stuck somewhere that’s not suitable for you. However, you want to set yourself up for success for the future. I wish she could see my grandmas situation to put things in perspective.
It sounds like her parents have done really well for themselves including having a great faith based community, and unfortunately that's impacted her to not have any examples of what it's like to not sacrifice, to not care about the future, and to not plan. I'm like you, and I've got plenty of examples of poor financial decisions in my family! I'm sure reality will hit her at some point, and I'm glad you're able to see things the way you see them.
Yep! Get a 9-5 you don’t care about, book gigs for the weekend and build up your portfolio! And get the Bible app on your phone lol just a total unwillingness to better herself
I'm 46 and moved my mother (72) in with us a year ago because she has no retirement savings and as a single mother not only didn't save for herself but continued to financially contribute to other family member's situations instead of taking care of herself. Now we're behind on our own retirement and have to consider how we support her while also not putting our own child in the same situation in 30 years. She would say she doesn't regret all the ways she "helped" other people over the years but the fact is none of them are better off for it and I'm the one that has to deal with the consequences and as a mother I'm fighting to make sure it does not continue for generations to come.
I never, ever understood that whole cultural thing about it's the "family's" responsibility to take care of someone who was not smart enough to think about their senior years or final expenses when they should have been. I worked with a woman years ago, a really sweet younger woman who was probably in her late twenties or so. I was working with her on my line one day and we were chatting and I remember her saying that they had a "family meeting" two nights earlier about her grandmother who had just passed away a few days prior. She told me her mother and the aunts and uncles were making arrangements for the grandmother's funeral and all the costs involved, and how expensive it was. They wanted to know how much she and the other grandchildren were going to put towards the expenses. "Um, what"? Was my response. She said the uncles in particular were quite insistent that they fork up some crazy amount. Now, I'll admit, I am not a black person (I am married to a black woman though and have been in wedded bliss for almost 20 years now) and didn't "come up" in the black household or culture, but I told her I don't quite understand what they are talking about. My Dad died a LONG time ago, and my parents had money set aside for that. My Mom died probably a few years after this conversation, and obviously, she had money set aside for her final arrangements. However, even if she didn't - it would obviously fall on myself and my siblings to handle things. I mean, it's OUR MOTHER, right? Also, my Mom did live ONLY on social security and it was hard for her, but she did what she had to do and she got by just fine because she was born and raised during the depression and she learned first hand how to live with almost nothing. Anyhow, I didn't understand how her aunts, uncles and mother were LOOKING at the grandchildren for any of the money. Final expenses are very pricy and expensive. I get it, I really, really do, but no way should any adult who has even half a brain NOT have the wherewithal to plan for their senior years and final arrangements, and NO WAY, NO WAY, should anyone ever think anyone else should or would have to "take care of them" in their old age. Sorry, that's just ignorant and selfish. It's NOT HARD to put a few bucks away and work with an advisor when you are still young and also use your social security wisely. CRAZY.
As someone who goes to church every week I absolutely hate when people use faith as an excuse. God will not let you sit back and do nothing and take care of you. God will place opportunities in front of you and put you in positions to do great things. Making sacrifices for your future is part of that.
And I don't like how she doesn't bring up faith until she needs "rest". Then she pulls out the "I need time with God" card. I'm glad he focused on that and made her realize it's literally only an hour a day. All just bullshit excuses because she *needs* to have fun over making money...yikes
Same! My husband and I both attended a really inexpensive Christian college, worked all the time, graduated with no student loans and no parent help, and then we worked five+ jobs after that to get a solid foundation before my husband got a salary job. We still do multiple side jobs just because we like to keep up the hustle. I don’t understand this apathy towards doing extra work to make yourself secure!
When she said I had to call my mom to find me housing, I rolled my eyes. These people stay children for wayyyy too long. These parents have set their children up for failure.
I feel she has this laissez-faire attitude about her finances because she knows that if things were to go south her family would help her. She’s not doing horrible at 24, but she would be doing a ton better if she took Caleb’s advice. I wish her the best.
@@DM-1111 Inheretance definitely isn't what it used to be though. With how old people are living most people will be at least 50 by the time they inherit anything, many far later. If your life is shit at that stage pretty much no inheretance is going to fix it to be worthwhile.
She knows she has a substantial amount of money waiting for her in property and business when her parents pass. She isn't taking things seriously and is treating work like a hobby. She is frittering away the years waiting.
I worked DoorDash while paying off my student loans. There is downtime sometimes and I would bring a book. She can bring her bible and read when it’s slower.
Found your channel a few weeks ago. As a 22 year old I think it’s great to know I’m not the only one feeling lost. Also nice to know I shouldn’t sit in it! Thanks for the motivation!
I see so many of my own mistakes in her. This video helped me to be honest with myself and make some really really tough decisions. I’m thankful for that.
It doesn’t matter to her because she’s privileged and have her parents to fall back on (which she stated during the video) for 24 she’s absolutely “clueless.” God bless you for the patience, time, and knowledge you’re sharing via your channel, I love it and make my 19 yo watch episodes with me.
$500 per month on gas for a 2017 kia soul... She's driving like 4k miles/month. At that rate mom and dad will have to pay for a new car in 2-3 years again
Exactly. Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely essential to have a support system. I know that if something catastrophic happened I could count on my family to help. The difference is I'm building up savings of my own so that it's not necessary to lean on others. Support systems should be counted on to lend a hand, not be your life support.
@@CSpottsGamingbut you probably have a normal job. This chick is a “freelancer” who is hopping from set to set plugging in surge protectors. I’d bet within 3 years she either gets a normal job or gets married
That small speech about eating shit for a couple months to do what you want for a long time was pretty inspirational. People just won't go through a period of being tired and uncomfortable so they can do what they really want later
Too true. My last semester of undergrad, I tried sharing a studio with a friend next to campus, so I could get rent down to $200 and walk to class. I had to sleep in the kitchen, but I ended up spending more time at my part time job and studying at the library. It was certainly unpleasant compared to the dorm, but a few months of that helped me graduate with savings and not debt.

Yeah I’m in her position and I don’t wanna sacrifice anything and always prioritize my own comfort. It’s basically an addiction, I can’t stop even though it’s ruining my life.
This was so painful to watch. You have an incredible amount of patience to keep trying to get your message through to someone who had every excuse for why she should not make any changes in her life. I’m not sure why she booked this session with you? Keep up the great work! We need more people talking about the reality of growing old without any savings in place. That image of keeling over on a Walmart will definitely keep me on track with my own savings goals. ❤
As someone who works events I think she’s literally insane. Like to think you can’t be a good gig/ event employee if you’re not able to rest so many days a year it’s insane. Like she’s so brass and entitled I’m sure people at the edm festivals she works don’t love the experiences w her as much as she thinks they do.
Honest question because I'm pretty much confused as to what exactly she says does. She's an "event set up" person who sets up concerts and festivals and does "stagehand work"? As in lighting and stuff like that? I guess I should just Google it, but isn't that just a fancy way of saying you're a roadie? Also, you need a college degree to do this "career"? I'm NOT making fun because there very well may be some skills and real know how involved, but I have no idea what it'd be. Thanks in advance.
Caleb I love your new method of editing these videos lately. Your channel went from entertainment to an actual learning experience for me. You still make me laugh while maintaining the seriousness of the topic. Keep it up!
I know people keep ragging on this lady. But im honestly soo glad theres a money show with REAL people. I dont agree with everything she says, but i low key sometimes do make the same decisions. So i relate. And i am glad that he showing people who are not perfect with their finances, it makes it more real. And more relatable. And it fills the video with 10x the advice and learning lol thank you both!
I think people are ragging on her narcissistic and entitled attitude more than her financial situation. A bad financial situation can be fixed. An entitled attitude never will be.
@@sportsfan1717 She won't be fixing the financial situation with her attitude, that's for sure. She needs to have her "lifestyle", and she is unwilling to compromise it to improve her financial situation.
@@akoilngas1215 She doesn't need to. She has mom and dad. That's her mentality, she doesn't see her financial situation as a bad one, because she's still enjoying the benefits of her parents' lifestyle. Her "salary" is for her wants and needs, she's traveling around, going to her friend's weddings and all these events, but I'm sure that for all her other "expenses", she's using her parents' money. She probably gets home and goes shopping with her family for clothes, makeup, skincare, home stuff, and even groceries. So she's just "struggling" to get gas sometimes or pay her card. Once you are truly living only on your salary, that's when it hits you how bad things are. But if your parents have a beautiful home, can cover your extra expenses, and you know they have your back if anything happens, is very easy to earn barely above minimum wage and think everything is fine.
@@alepolait Of course. She's enjoying the fact that many of her expenses are subsidized. However, even with her lifestyle subsidized, the fact she's so deep in debt points to the fact that even the lifestyle her parents are helping her with isn't enough for her. Easy, just listen to what the trinity is telling you through prayer and bible reading and biblically you're not doing anything wrong, knowing that sinning is inevitable, including selfishness and sloth, she can try her best to listen to her heart and trust God, strictly speaking that's enough. That's why the biblical value system sucks imo.
as someone who struggled with depression in the past and then was able to get out of it by taking care of myself and choosing unconventional routes, I actually understand why she doesn't want to be miserable for 2 months in order to be happy later, because it is good on paper for healthy men, if you struggle with a possibility of depression already, putting yourself into a miserable environment for 2 month might actually set you back years in the end mentally
Make the sacrafices! Life will be much more freeing when you don't have all the stress! You'll be able to pick your gigs, everything's paid for and for months! Especially with irregular income, budget is key.
That retirement question shut her up 😭 she doesn’t want to be a lump on a log, but she’s not willing to make the sacrifice to prevent that in later years. I work full time and doordash after for 3 hours. I make like $60 on average every day in a small city.
She’s literally living on “a hope and a prayer”. She claims her stance from a romantic view, however all of us watching are terrified for her well being. It’s like watching a teenagers first romantic relationship with an abusive partner. It’s terrifying, so concerning, and you want to get angry for her- but it’s her choice, her life.
She's got a safety net. It's not life or death because she has family backing her up. She's really not independent nor does she want to be based on her loose plans for the future.
At 20-something, its easy to say "I'll work until I'm 60". Then when you get older, and your body aches and everything hurts, you change your tune. But by then, its too late, unless you've prepared yourself financially when you were young...which obviously isn't her priority. So sad...
This! Lots of people on here have said they'll work into their 60s, 70s etc. "I like working" yeah at 24.. you've never been 60 and felt what it's like to be burnt out from decades of hard work. Every single one of them will regret it lol
@@droid2D2C3P0 shit, I’m not quite 45 yet and I wish I could retire. I got my first job at 13 (if you don’t count the paper route I started when I was 8) and, other than about three years that I was home with my kids when they were babies, I have been working full time. I actually even worked full time when I was a junior and senior in high school. I’m exhausted. But I agree…when you’re young, you have no concept of what it will feel like in twenty or thirty years.
You’re so patient, it’s painful to watch someone like this girl. Yep, girl, she’s a long way from a woman. Her excuses are hollow, her “I’m stubborn” is childish, and her elitist attitude should embarrass her, but she doesn’t even have the insight to realize how ridiculous she is. It’s sad.
Stunt work is high risk - if she gets injured badly enough to where she can't physically work for even a week or two, having an emergency fund would be critical. Also, not sure what her medical insurance situation is but it's also something to factor when it comes to emergency savings.
This video hurt to watch. Props to you Caleb for staying strong in your vices & trying to get her to care about her financial future. Money and stability aren’t important to her so she won’t be willing make sacrifices.
This was excellent. She has so many options and she chooses the struggle bus. My thoughts: if she enjoys wedding photography/videography/editing she should go back to corporate for 6mo to a year and create that business in the background (EASY on the weekends, especially on the verge of wedding season!) she could then branch into other niches or freelance edit for others during off season. She could be chillin this time next year and enjoying her work. But sure, be average 🤷🏽♀️
I don't mean for this to sound shitty but it probably will. These videos have significantly helped me realize that I'm actually doing an ok job financially. Sometimes I get really down about where I'm at, and mistakes have been made don't get me wrong, but I am definitely not in a hole. Sometimes perspective is important. So this channel educates me and makes me feel better about myself 🤣 I hope everyone leaves these meetings with you changed, but I doubt some of these people are
As much as I say, " oh these young people should listen to Caleb. I WISH I had someone to sit me down like this at that age", I know my 24 year old self was almost EXACTLY like this girl. It took me until I was 30 to really make a change. Like most of us, she's gonna miss out on investing in her 20s and end up playing catch up in her 30s or 40s.
It’s okay, I started when I was 30, and it still fine even with the 2008 recession, etc. We actually don’t need a million, depending on your lifestyle, 800k is fine.

Caleb, your advice in this one was super encouraging to me personally. I am a freelancer in a sense (Realtor) and don’t always have a full pipeline (I.e right now lol). I have a wife (with a job) and a mortgage. Since My career isn’t booming right now I spend almost EVERY moment I have doordashing. If I’m not, I feel as if I’m literally throwing money away. I also give out business cards the entire time. If I land one client from it I’ll profit more than 2 months of delivering! Just good to hear your words and to know that I’m making wise moves!
She’s over here giving Christian’s a bad name lol cmon girl, be disciplined and be a good steward of the blessing that God has given you, aka a paycheck. Cmon now
She wants to do Stunt Work? My lad is a Stuntman. It takes money to get the training, the skills etc. He delivered Indian food. He delivered Pizza. He worked in bars at weekends. She does not have the the personality it take to do that at all.
Yeah kids who grew up in the mythical “upper middle class” of times gone by don’t understand that they are working class now. We’re all either working class or extremely wealthy now. Save and grind accordingly.
She just doesn’t want to be uncomfortable yet to achieve goals. Only wants to be “uncomfortable” doing what she wants which is not the same. I appreciated the debate and how you always say the hard things no matter how awkward and hard to hear it can be.
.... and in the next breath says she's okay being average... I guess it's easy to hop on whatever train is leaving the station if you think it's going in the direction you want to go in.
She’s saying everything worked out without having gigs booked but her mom was the person who was calling Airbnb hosts to help her secure a place to stay. She’s privileged and getting help from her family and thinks it is faith that makes things work out. That’s why she has no worries, because she has people to fall back on.
The bottom line is she doesn’t ACTUALLY want it bad enough. If she did she would do anything to get the money for the classes and professional development she claims she needs. Reality will give her a swift kick and she’s not going to like it.
I'm 40 now and I have my finances together but I wish I could go back to when I was her age. Seeing all the mistakes she's making at 20 and knowing what I know now, she could be so much better off by the time she's 40.
I wasn't as good as I could have been at her age...like why oh why did I not put more into Home Depot stock but I'm glad I didn't make as bad decisions as she has.
I'm 32 and want to stop making mistakes and learn changes to make for a better forty. I made, and likely make a lot of mistakes that I find literacy issues after watching these videos is all ages. Let's change our future.
When I was her age, I worked as an unpaid activist volunteer and I lived an incredible, dream lifestyle. It was the happiest time of my life. But my dad offered to let me stay with him and go to school, the catch was that I needed to give up what I wanted to do for a season and buckle down for school. It was a very hard decision because I did not want to go to school and wanted to keep living the life that made me happy. I finally realized the the wisest decision was to do what I didn’t want to do and go to school. 17 years later, I’m a nurse who loves what he does. My career brings meaning and purpose to my life and I make more than enough to support myself and have money left over to travel and do all the things I WANT TO do. So now, I’m 40 and I love being at this age because I made the sacrifices I needed to when I was younger to set myself up for this point now. I was only able to do it because I wasn’t so full of myself that I refused to believe I could be wrong. That’s the vibe this girl is putting out and it really irritates me because she’s only going to pay for it in the future. Do not be hard headed Listen to other opinions and admit where you could be wrong There is a balance in life between doing what you want and what you need to do. It’s not ethical or right to take advantage of your parents because you don’t want to put in work for yourself.

“My mom moved to get me a 75% discount at college. I loved my college experience and would do it all over again.” (On my mom’s back) Did I hear that right? Did I miss something? She regrets nothing?! How about a big, giant THANK YOU MOM!🤩
As someone who has come from financial incompetence, these habits are so hard to repair. It’s foreign language for some. Especially if parents or friends don’t talk about money. Some find it better to just bury their heads in the sand and hope it goes away. When that switch is flipped though, whew! Life choice can make a big change!
My sister and I don't talk. She does have way better financial literacy than me. The scary part is she has far better literacy than our mother who chose to have kids. My mother talks about how she never had a savings account. Idk how my sister learned or was better at it than our mom. I am still learning and am older. In the meantime, my mother still does not look at her bank account. I don't want to be her when at her age.
She is pampered and spoiled. She is ok sponging off relatives, sister and parents when times are tight. She just might wear put her welcome. You are right - get to work. Do whatever you have to, to be self sufficient. If she was truly hungry, truly desperate, she would be going after extra work. People always go for a soft landing and she knows that soft landing are her relatives. Ick.
Caleb, as a self-employed Austinite, you give the best advice out there. Although this video did not end happily for the participant, I've left with new financial goals to set me up for success. I cannot thank you enough.

It's crazy.

Couldn't have said it any better. You summed her mentality up perfectly.

It’s crazy how people can go to college, earn a degree, make less than $20/hour and be okay with that.

It sounds like she has her parents to fall back on so she isn't worried about an emergency.
Literally why is this person even on? She doesn't want any advice, she just wants to be told shes doing it right
She talks a lot about how she's 'not average', then goes on about how much better she is than other people while not seeming to realize that's what's she's saying.
Grow up.
Agreed.
She should just move home with her parents for 6 months instead of working at uber 9 months....
At the same time, you did used to get more out of your hard work. Now, she definitely needs to do hard work to get out of this debt.
66 year old man here, Exactly!!!
It's difficult for young people to think about their future selves. Your advice was so valuable. I hope she reflects on this and makes better choices.
FACTS, Your frontal lobe isn't fully developed until you're 25.
This should be pinned on every video

$500 per month on gas for a 2017 kia soul... She's driving like 4k miles/month. At that rate mom and dad will have to pay for a new car in 2-3 years again
I feel like she knows she always has mom and dad to fa back on and the real world has just not hit her.
If it hits. It will hit her hard like an asteroid.
That's exactly what it is.
Exactly.
Don't get me wrong, it's absolutely essential to have a support system. I know that if something catastrophic happened I could count on my family to help. The difference is I'm building up savings of my own so that it's not necessary to lean on others.
Support systems should be counted on to lend a hand, not be your life support.
At 20 sum that's sorry asf idc😂😂😂
@@gaoda1581 incredible, good on you 👏🏻
agreed... and pursing what she really wants in a sustainable way. Some people just can't see past their own noses. You can forget about decades down the road.
Seriously painful
Horrendous. I wanted to yell at her to stop talkin.
As someone who works events I think she’s literally insane. Like to think you can’t be a good gig/ event employee if you’re not able to rest so many days a year it’s insane. Like she’s so brass and entitled I’m sure people at the edm festivals she works don’t love the experiences w her as much as she thinks they do.
she is 100% psychotic and on drugs
Honest question because I'm pretty much confused as to what exactly she says does. She's an "event set up" person who sets up concerts and festivals and does "stagehand work"? As in lighting and stuff like that? I guess I should just Google it, but isn't that just a fancy way of saying you're a roadie? Also, you need a college degree to do this "career"? I'm NOT making fun because there very well may be some skills and real know how involved, but I have no idea what it'd be. Thanks in advance.
It's a young person's job. She's lucky to have parents who are her safety net.
Caleb I love your new method of editing these videos lately. Your channel went from entertainment to an actual learning experience for me. You still make me laugh while maintaining the seriousness of the topic. Keep it up!
This channel has turned from financial health to just people have some serious issues and here's how they are affecting their finances.
Agreed! Finances can really reflect a lot of the issues people have and need to resolve before their finances can be fixed!
@@courtneya2207 just like cars. Personal problems become car problems
That's literally finance
She wants even more, but isn't willing to do the work to get it.
@@alepolait Oh, and for the record, I LOVE Sylvanian Families. My husband has gifted me Sylvanian Family sets for important events in our life as a way of remembering them!
Goes to church, reads the Bible, went to private Christian university however unwilling to self-sacrifice. Sooo entitled.
be gone ye cursed, I never knew you
Is it a surprise though? That type of Christianity is a feudal lord cult unrelated to Jesus
$60 per hour right?
@@FormerPessitheRobberfan on doordash what world you livin in? He said 3 hours for 60 do some math.

She will regret it one day Caleb. Thank you for doing these I look forward to every one.
That's a compassionate take compared to most comments here, love to see it, we've all mostly been there before!
She's got a safety net. It's not life or death because she has family backing her up. She's really not independent nor does she want to be based on her loose plans for the future.
💯
Caleb literally is like amazing, I like how he brings the excuses out of their head.
Also, not sure what her medical insurance situation is but it's also something to factor when it comes to emergency savings.
shes on her parents 😂 just like everything else in her life lol
This video hurt to watch. Props to you Caleb for staying strong in your vices & trying to get her to care about her financial future. Money and stability aren’t important to her so she won’t be willing make sacrifices.
Spot on analysis
That discussion about Uber eats seemed like she thinks those gigs are below her.
Exactly! She tried to string together a BS explanation, and you can tell it was BS.
Mommy and daddy are way more convenient that gig jobs 🙃
Everything is below her. She is holy than thow
You would think its perfect for her since shes already familiar with working in the gig economy.
Fatherless or dad was a beta?
It’s okay, I started when I was 30, and it still fine even with the 2008 recession, etc. We actually don’t need a million, depending on your lifestyle, 800k is fine.

For some reason this one really enraged me. She is taking 0 accountability and ultimately has the privilege and luxury of her parents bailing her out of every single financial situation and she doesn’t see it. Oh no her car broke…guess I can just move in with my family and they will get me a new car…oh look my mom bought me costco. To use her faith as a reason for how she got out of her issues the previous month…like no…you got lucky and mommy and daddy always come to your rescue.
Proverbs 12:11: "Those who work their land will have abundant food, but those who chase fantasies have no sense."

I have friends that work 60 hours a week, making 1500 to 2000 a week, and still, Uber after work. To think she’s below ubering is beyond Me
Yeah kids who grew up in the mythical “upper middle class” of times gone by don’t understand that they are working class now.
We’re all either working class or extremely wealthy now.
Save and grind accordingly.
She doesn't want help. She keeps rationalizing her poor decisions.
Clearly, she’s being supplemented and doesn’t know what it’s like to have to grind for everything. Lol
She just doesn’t want to be uncomfortable yet to achieve goals. Only wants to be “uncomfortable” doing what she wants which is not the same. I appreciated the debate and how you always say the hard things no matter how awkward and hard to hear it can be.
Her continuing to say “I’m not like the ~average person~” is very entitled
Yeah it's hard being below average 😂😂😂
What she means by ~average person~ is avg people don’t have parents who love them like this or enable them this way. Hurts to watch
.... and in the next breath says she's okay being average...
Thanks for working so hard for us Caleb!
Thanks for supporting!

I love watching people dig themselves deeper and deeper and try to rationalize why they do certain things
What will she do when she can no longer be on her parents insurance?? That will be a huge wake up call.
Its gonna be homeless or something.. its gonna be hard for her.
She’s going to meet a man or woman who will marry her and put her on his/her insurance.
Do not be hard headed
Listen to other opinions and admit where you could be wrong
There is a balance in life between doing what you want and what you need to do.
It’s not ethical or right to take advantage of your parents because you don’t want to put in work for yourself.

As someone who has come from financial incompetence, these habits are so hard to repair. It’s foreign language for some. Especially if parents or friends don’t talk about money.
