Man, two months, two issues in and I have to admit, I'm not feeling enthused about the Absolute Superman title and at this point I'm not even sure I'll bother trying it out. I guess only time will tell, so we'll see. Thanks for your thoughts as always, Carl!
Ultimately I think we’re on the same page here. It’s interesting, it has certain elements, like the life on Krypton stuff but it’s not a great sign when I’d rather read about the Krypton class system over Lois & Kal-El’s first meeting. I’ll keep buying it (for now)…just to see where it goes. It could be a fun story, I want to see more of the downfall of Krypton so I’m willing to give it a shot…but it’s certainly not a case of “oh man, I have to wait until next month to read more?!?”

@@CarlsCollection Yeah, I hear you. I mean in all fairness, I've never been a fan of rebooting the origin stories of classic characters and pretending these new versions live in their own separate universe. So I don't know why I even had positive feelings of hopefulness when they started publishing this line of books. I guess I'm not quite as jaded as I thought and still hold onto hope that some comics can be made that appeal to me and get me excited in this day and age! Which of course, makes it all the more disappointing when these projects fail to be any better (or even as good) than what has already come before. Either way, I look forward to hearing your continued thoughts on it for as long as you continue to stick with it.
Kal-El has more chemistry with the suit than Lois. Lois' narration tries to have her see the good in him, but you can't tell if that's because she's fallen for Kal-El and/or he saved her from being shot at by the Peacemakers. I enjoyed the Krypton storyline more as it continues the theme of the class divide of the first issue.
@@marcuswai The Krypton element remain the most interesting aspects of this comic for me too. The AI debate throughout was interesting, even to the point of it being about Lois finding “her voice” and the subtleties that AI can’t fully grasp. Interesting topic, but is it enough to keep me hooked as a Superman story? I’m not convinced.
