SCARY FLIGHT To Philippines Most ISOLATED Town - Palanan, Isabela

  • THERE ARE MANY ISOLATED ISLANDS IN THE PHILIPPINES.
But this might be Philippines most isolated town, since it lies on the largest island of Luzon, but is totally disconnected from the "mainland" as the locals call it by the towering Sierra Madre range.
It is so isolated, that Emilio Aguinaldo called it his last capital of the First Philippine Republic!
The only way in is a 6 hour boat trip from Aurora, or a 30 minute flight in a small plane from Cauayan!
So I took a plane from one of the smallest Filipino airlines to find out!

Thanks for coming to Isabela, mate. Come back anytime. You know you will always have a home in Aurora. Will visit you in Davao when I get back to the Philippines. Hope to meet your wife and kiddo soon! We are grateful for your visit and can't thank you enough for featuring our province. Most Isabelinos have never seen the coastal part of Isabela and through your videos, I hope the government can appreciate Isabela more and put more funding towards it. Isabela is rich in culture, history and beautiful untouched nature. Salamat ha! Balik ka ulit. Bring the whole gang next time. 😄😄😄😄 We will make you some Ilocano tupig. ( grilled rice cake with coconut) 👍👍😁😁

Be careful what you wish for. If it's my choice, I'd rather let the place as it is. Virgin, unexplored, natural scenery intact and untouched, gives more value to the rest of the Philippines.

@@michaelamontemayor448 I totally agree with you as per preserving the Philippines and keeping it untouched but also, progress is good.. I'm sure parameters will be set to prevent exploiting its beauty. Maski kalsada man lang sana, matapos na. This will give locals a chance to go to the mainland to seek medical attention without paying arm and a leg. Need pa mag plane para mangibang bayan. Just like any other provinces, I think Isabela deserves a little bit of notice. It is for people to enjoy and it is up to us to respect Mother Nature and preserve it for future generations. If we haven't seen it, we would not appreciate it. And it is up to us to preserve its culture, nature and its wonderful people especially the Dumagats❤️❤️❤️...

Be aware that even ordinary inhabitants has the rights to oppose environmental degradation in the pretext of tourism to give jobs to the locals. Yes adding my thanks. I always enjoy the videos but this one was very moving to me. For some reason I also got teary…I didn’t know quite why?! Then I read your comment & so I don’t feel strange! I do have relatives not originally from Isabella but moved there years ago from Ilocos Sur. In the “mainland” though. I especially loved -out of order- the family b4 the plane ride, the priest, the daughter of Kuya Boy & somehow how he introduced her -“this is my daughter, my youngest.” I think he said. He seemed pleased for you all to meet. Proud of her Im guessing. The trike ride. The church. The blue lagoon. The aerial views. Well everything. But the priest cracked me up with all his questions. It IS cultural. No offense meant I write this with a smile & love, but I often felt my Philippine relatives were very intrusive with strangers! Lol. It was always “how old are you? Are you married? Are you going to college? Don’t live together b4 marriage…”. 🙊🙈

If KD Anselm sees this please excuse my forwardness. I am still newish but I know you keep your art & work separate from your private life as much as you are able. But I also follow your wife, so I do see those precious aspects of your life too, a bit. You could’ve said to Father when he asked your religion, oh Father you will be glad to hear I’m married to one of your flock & also raising a wee Catholic. Though I’m not sure L is baptized, I suspect she is, just from following N. In any case, it is not your job to please others but I know that would’ve made the friendly & welcoming Father very happy…..

The food must be expensive there. Everything has to be shipped by boat. I wonder if a road can be built to cut through the Sierra Madre mountains. But I'm not even sure if that is a good idea. Once a road is built, settlements will sprout along the Sierra Madre roads. The trees in Sierra Madre might disappear in the future once settlements reach that place.
