Way to go guys. Love seeing the guys from the Futur and Blind realizing how well #Webflow works for them and their own clients. Now if we can only get more designers/agencies/users to see this as well!
First, thanks so much for providing such great content over the years. I really appreciate what you guys do and am grateful for everything you have done for the community. As for webflow, I am long time WordPress designer and developer (one of my many hats). I find most clients like the idea of updating their site and spend a lot for me to design, build, host their custom WordPress sites but never update it themselves or end up contracting me anyway to do the work. I have a fantastic, robust and well refined WordPress process but it's not cheap. Webflow could be great. What are you finding you cannot do in Webflow that you could with something as fully customizable as WordPress? Put another way, what walls are you running into with configuration/customization?
Frank Stallone honestly configuration and customization is always better on Webflow. Much more flexible. But. Features is where WP can still win. User logins/dashboards, complex eCommerce, etc aren’t built in - yet. I expect webflow to catch up in the next year on many common features though.
awesome content! love this series. i've been debating the merits of wordpress vs webflow lately so this bonus vid was super useful. my only suggestion is that y'all put a 'webflow' logo on the bottom of your coffee mug for the plug at the end where you take a nice big sip and zoom in.
I've been dying to learn webflow, everytime I try, I get out cause of frustration due to the resize concept of devices, thank you for mentioning flex. This took my frustration to ease , thank you thank you.
I'm excited for this. When I started with webflow, I was surprised to see that there were very few tutorials and that you actually had to know a lot of web design principle. It was simultaneously too hands off for my dev friends to teach me, and too hands on to figure out myself.
Webflow looks awesome! I've found clients looking for web design as part of their design brief more and more. Webflow looks like a great fit, might try on my next client. Thanks for sharing Ben and crew! More episodes to come?
That unlink trick you did at around 7:00 was clever. It definitely looks like a timesaver. I can already think of a few applications for it, just looking at the projects I just completed. Thanks, Ben!
Hey Ben, If you are interested, here is my journey with you in a nutshell: - I intended to watch 1 episode of the Hamilton Brewery series to get some insights. I ended up binge-watching the series twice! - I started to look for more videos including you and ended up finding you on as many platforms as possible and liking, following, subscribing to each one! I've been at it for a long time to research my possibilities to financial freedom, being my own employer, ... probably for too long even. Even though research will always be a part of my journey (never a master, always a student), here is what I started to understand watching you, hearing what you had to say, and checking your insta-posts: 1. I was fooling myself into believing I was not yet fully prepared to start acting so I had to continue my research. 2. I can never be fully prepared, but mistakes are part of the learning curve. 3. I was losing precious time not starting up. 4. I had nothing to lose starting to act upon my dream/ambition. From all the people that inspire and motivate me, you got me to that crucial step of action. When I think of your insta-post where you are telling about the day you handed in your resignation as a narcotics agent, I think you'll understand my appreciation for you in the following: Mr Ben Burns, my name is Nordin, I am 36 years young and today I decided to act upon redesigning my life and realize my dream. Thank you!!
I used Webflow at its begining for my portfolio website, but finally moved to "myportfolio.com" from adobe/behance... but I can see that Webflow got really better 4 years later... I might give it a try again... Really nice video by the way!
i see Ran convinced you guys too :) I've been working on webflow myself the last 2 months and coming from vanilla hand-coding websites, this is such a time saver!
Great video! Will be checking it out to compare to Wix and Squarespace (working on simple sites for people who want to take over when I’m done building but have low budget for website). Your mobile website looks un entered on iPhone. Really impressive for 3 days.
I've used a free trial of webflow a long time ago and loved it. I think i might revisit because I don't get this level of customization on squarespace.
Amazing tool! Amazing tips. Thank you Mr. Ben Burns. Thank you The Futur. Also... Webflow has an amazing 'University' with videotutorials for any skill-level. And the extra: the humor in them vids is on point. ;-)
Good stuff. I've been on the fence for a while now about using Weblow for client websites. Now that I see The Futur migrating their site to Webflow, that's all I need to make my decision to switch over.
I sign up for web flow due to it's free. now that I have seen it in use. I will play around with it. I was using Divi and WordPress. I wasn't sure how to start but your vid shows the benefits to using it.
Hi Ben! Congratulations on this "Building a Brand" episodes. It's been really cool to see the BTS and how you guys apply some of your frameworks in the "real world". Pure gold content! I have a question, after you build your website in Webflow how do you put it online?
Great series guys. Congrats! The sponsors will look for the reach, so, maybe on the next series you can increase the audience by making live polls or a small quiz, something that could trigger comments and shares. Hope that helps. 💪
I'm so glad someone designed web flow. I had the idea to create something like web flow for people like me who have limited coding experience but hate template web design websites. I'm glad someone beat me to it because I probably would've tried to make it all by myself and lose my mind in the process.
It would be absolutely amazing if you guys could do a video of Ben going through his process on how he designed his website on Webflow. As someone interested in migrating, and is in the process of doing so, I would love to learn how Ben got his website built in the platform. Cheers.

dude, just one comment, and I know you may be aware of this but take alook at the layout adaptation on mobile for the BEERS page, as it's displaying the content a bit wacky, like cutting out the edges of the content and not aligning the images properly. The site looks so nice, it's a shame it has this issue. Today I came across your series on the case study for the brewery and found the content and videos super helpful for a current project I'm just starting! Awesome content by the way!
this is the video that I've been waiting for after watching the latest episode of creating a brand. I was wondering how you created the website for Hamilton! Thank you so much for this.
No, it's not. Webflow Cons eCommerce functionality is still in it infancy. Needs a lot of features to compete with plugins like WooCommerce. Template library is small. Only about 200 templates and some of them are pretty old. If you want to work with another designer, you'll have to make sure they're familiar with Webflow. Hosting outside of Webflow negates some of the great features like fast publishing.
@@mrbenburns It's given a freelance designer, like me - The power to be efficient on the web when it comes to prototyping & designing. Think people need to remember this is an amazing DESIGN tool, I now take my wireframes straight to webflow to add animations and interactions in appose to using prototyping features within XD for example.
@@SharonDeCaro Hey Sharon, appreciate your thoughts on the cons of Webflow, maybe you could share that with the Webflow team? a) Webflow is constantly working every day to empower designers in different ways, they are extremely responsive to feedback, I am sure that the e-commerce feature (which is essentially still new) will be improved. b) Webflow attracts us designers because it is focused on custom-made design, I wouldn't say their template library has been a focus, but hey, the more designers that use it, the larger the library will become. c) If an agency/freelancer was to begin to slowly convert by testing out Webflow on web projects for clients, like the Hamilton Family Brewery, Webflow University offers completely free tuition about the tool, and if a 23 year old junior like myself can learn it, I'm sure any industry professional can too.
Webflow rocks!! I've been using it since 2015 and is a game changer. Usign symbols as a layout tip is an awesome idea @mrbenburns you're a genius, I'll have to give it a try with some of my current clients websites.

@@SharonDeCaro Hey Sharon! I see your comments :) Believe me, there is still a great need for Wordpress. We've used Wordpress for every single other project, and I wouldn't have a career without it! And absolutely, feature-wise, Wordpress has an advantage over webflow, especially when it comes to user logins, ecommerce, and the wide variety of plugins. But you know, for someone who doesn't want to maintain a site, or wrestle with stock themes, or deal with plugin conflicts, and just wants to stand up a simple website that's 100% custom - Webflow is great!
@@mrbenburns I appreciate your response and I do see your point. Sometimes, though, what I've seen is if a client has a website with a platform that is uncommon or proprietary, they can't find anyone to work on it or fix it. I get that Webflow is easy and I know some people who work exclusively on Webflow, they make a living at it and know very little HTML, CSS or PHP. It's just that I'm deeply involved in the WordPress Community (nationally and internationally) and know so many ways of making it easy, affordable and secure for clients. I keep current with all the latest WordPress trends, plugins, and everything WordPress. I go to WordCamps, belong to several WordPress Facebook groups. The WordPress community is welcoming and supportive. There is always someone willing to help you with your site, share info if you have a question, especially in the Divi groups (Elegant Themes). Maybe there's a WebFlow Facebook group that is helpful as well. I appreciate what you guys do and your comments, Ben. I loved watching the Build a Brand series. It's so good and informative. I have the utmost respect for Blind, Chris Do, you, Matthew and the whole team! You rock!
Would you recommend migrating my web page from WordPress to WebFlow? I loved how easy it looks, and I really have had a hard time understanding WordPress
Instead of using Symbols to reuse layouts, you guys could also Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V the elements of the structure. It takes fewer steps. Though, it was a great idea to do that as well.
What if you are working on a different project and need that same element? What if you are working on a different page and want to try out different layouts? Library gives you access to all your template so you don't need to switch back and forth between pages.
Ben, this is just SUPER USEFUL! I've just started designing my portfolio in Webflow and that certainly helps. Hope you guys will post more UI/UX/Web Design stuff in the channel! All the best to you, you must be a cool guy! :D
Holy birthday cake, batman! WebFlow! Thanks for sharing insights and how easy it is to build a custom site with WebFlow! Bye, Bye WordPress. I might even start taking on web design clients again.
Thank you for the amazing breakdown! I was wondering, is the back end section the clients use to add new beers something that had to be custom coded? Thanks!
I really have a lot of doubts using Web flow to be honest. I just started using Elementor and discovered the Advanced Custom Fields. So I'm a bit reluctant to change. But you guys inspire me a lot. I'm quite impressed that you decided to make the change on the Futur for Webflow. What was the deciding factor for you? And speaking of numbers, how much ressources will you save by project in the future using Webflow for your clients website?
I've used WP for over a decade lol and quite honestly I get sick of the updates, maintenance, plugin conflicts - so I really have been looking for a way out. But if you're into WP, and need the more advanced functionality, go for elementor! I hear it's great. They sent us a test account to check it out, so I'll be looking at that.
@@mrbenburns Hey thanks a lot for the reply. I really appreciate it. The advanced functionality? Not really to be honest. 90% of my clients are webentrepreneurs who used primarily WP as a Blog then created their info-product on an other platform like Click Funnels or Lead Pages. So there isn't much to really worry about achieving what they need. I was blown away on how you gave your computer to the Hamilton so they can edit their website. It looks like a dream come true. I really appreciate to have your feedback on Elementor tho. Made a website on a few days too. No code required. And yeah. I know the drill. You get some coffee from Webflow and that's amazing. From my end, I'll jump out of my web confort zone and try Webflow via your link. Thanks for the inspiration you provide and the content you share for this community. We surely need more people like you.
You can make use of classes instead of symbols to build similar layouts on different pages. Just give a unique class name to a two grid column layout and use it everywhere. The properties would stay the same because of the class.
Good video on the ease of use with Webflow and the extras it packs in. Just wondering if some of the bugs you encountered were viewable on the app and browser/devices? And does the client need a Webflow account to maintain the website?

Thanks... You guys are awesome! I've actually been thinking about switching over to WF for a few weeks now... This presentation has pushed me over the top... This is the type of tool I've been looking for...
lesismorepro sweet! Check it out.
I want to be like Ben Burns when I grow up! LOVE this series! And thanks for the tips on Webflow!
Lol that’s awesome
Beautiful result! The Futur strikes again, hehe! I'm definitely designing my new website with Webflow.
Thanks, Ben & Matt for continually contributing to our growth.
This is super helpful
Joseph David glad to hear :)
@@MatthewEncina Tbh, it was a few years ago when they approached me. I'll take a look again, thanks.
Webflow looks awesome! I've found clients looking for web design as part of their design brief more and more. Webflow looks like a great fit, might try on my next client. Thanks for sharing Ben and crew! More episodes to come?
Great to see more about web design. I would like to see a video that explains SEO and the way you guys use it.
👉 Hope you enjoyed those tips from Ben. If you're interested in Webflow, try it for free here: bit.ly/BABfutur
Thank you, I enjoyed. Creating an account now :)
Been using Wordpress for years great to see a new way of building sites. thank you!
That unlink trick you did at around 7:00 was clever. It definitely looks like a timesaver. I can already think of a few applications for it, just looking at the projects I just completed. Thanks, Ben!
"CENTER ALREADY" rings sooo true man!!
Hey Ben,
If you are interested, here is my journey with you in a nutshell:
- I intended to watch 1 episode of the Hamilton Brewery series to get some insights. I ended up binge-watching the series twice!
- I started to look for more videos including you and ended up finding you on as many platforms as possible and liking, following, subscribing to each one!
I've been at it for a long time to research my possibilities to financial freedom, being my own employer, ... probably for too long even.
Even though research will always be a part of my journey (never a master, always a student), here is what I started to understand watching you, hearing what you had to say, and checking your insta-posts:
When I think of your insta-post where you are telling about the day you handed in your resignation as a narcotics agent, I think you'll understand my appreciation for you in the following:
Mr Ben Burns, my name is Nordin, I am 36 years young and today I decided to act upon redesigning my life and realize my dream.
Thank you!!
I used Webflow at its begining for my portfolio website, but finally moved to "myportfolio.com" from adobe/behance... but I can see that Webflow got really better 4 years later... I might give it a try again...
Really nice video by the way!
This is definitely what I was looking for in creating a website! Thank you!
i see Ran convinced you guys too :) I've been working on webflow myself the last 2 months and coming from vanilla hand-coding websites, this is such a time saver!
Great video! Will be checking it out to compare to Wix and Squarespace (working on simple sites for people who want to take over when I’m done building but have low budget for website). Your mobile website looks un entered on iPhone. Really impressive for 3 days.
#3 is the tip of all tips!! Work flow magic at work.
Dude right?!? Sped things up for me so much.
@@mrbenburns I'm just grateful for y'all holding a glass to the futur so we can see and avoid potential landmines. You guys are the real MVPs. 💯
Best episode! I had doubts about using webflow but now I can finally give it a chance.
I love this! Love the series and I am fully intrigued by Webflow. Thanks for the inspiration, you guys. FYI, do you ever take OLDER interns? LOL
Wow, absolutely loved this video. I have been using wix for a couple years and webflow seems to be everything I've been missing in my life lol
I'm a front end web dev and will definitely check Webflow, thank you for introducing this tool :)
Links Loki yes! Check it out :)
Great series guys. Congrats!
The sponsors will look for the reach, so, maybe on the next series you can increase the audience by making live polls or a small quiz, something that could trigger comments and shares.
Hope that helps. 💪
"Initially working with Webflow was a little bit overwhelming": understatement of the year :D
I'm so glad someone designed web flow. I had the idea to create something like web flow for people like me who have limited coding experience but hate template web design websites. I'm glad someone beat me to it because I probably would've tried to make it all by myself and lose my mind in the process.
Super Helpful - super funny and super awesome. thanks Mr BenBurns and the Futur alot.
It would be absolutely amazing if you guys could do a video of Ben going through his process on how he designed his website on Webflow. As someone interested in migrating, and is in the process of doing so, I would love to learn how Ben got his website built in the platform. Cheers.
This is awesome, thank you so much for all the information you've shared.
You’re very welcome
about a year ago I discovered webflow, and I knew it was gonna be one of the best cms for designers, but it was so different from WordPress I got discouraged from learning it, and the some what price plans dont help, but im ready to get back in and learn
excellent job Ben and Matt, and the team. so amazed you did the website in 3 days and made the client speechless ;) so inspired, I finished the full portfolio website tutorial from webflow today. so fun to follow having a tutor who's quite funny. reminds me of Andrew Kramer and yes, Greg Gunn :) so excited to know more tips! planning to build my own website this week :)
@@MatthewEncina oh, would love to check your websites too :) :)
YeeeAaaahhhhhahahahahahaaaahhhhh LOVING the fact @thefutur are using the awesomeness of @webflow !!! This tool is ducking awesome!
Duck yeah!
THANK YOU! Regardless, of it is a commercial or informative video, this is a great resource to know about! THANK YOU again!
dude, just one comment, and I know you may be aware of this but take alook at the layout adaptation on mobile for the BEERS page, as it's displaying the content a bit wacky, like cutting out the edges of the content and not aligning the images properly. The site looks so nice, it's a shame it has this issue.
Today I came across your series on the case study for the brewery and found the content and videos super helpful for a current project I'm just starting! Awesome content by the way!
Thank you so much for this precious documentation.
webflow changed my life 4 years ago.
I'm interested in exploring Webflow now. Thank you for the tips.
this is the video that I've been waiting for after watching the latest episode of creating a brand. I was wondering how you created the website for Hamilton! Thank you so much for this.
this is Gold. Thank you succinct and important and easy to follow.
YES!! THE INDUSTRY IS CHANGING TO WEBFLOW!!
Lewis Child it’s just awesome that it empowers designers the way it does.
No, it's not. Webflow Cons
eCommerce functionality is still in it infancy.
@@SharonDeCaro Every CMS has its cons.
thank you
Starting this now.
I love this channel, i love building a brand
wow web flow is exactly what i've been looking for. thanks for the video, this whole series is wonderful
Webflow rocks!! I've been using it since 2015 and is a game changer. Usign symbols as a layout tip is an awesome idea @mrbenburns you're a genius, I'll have to give it a try with some of my current clients websites.
Go for it! It's the little things that save seconds that turn into hours, you know?
I've been holding off on webflow for like, a year... guess I'll give it a go. lol
Do it! It’s very freeing.

@@SharonDeCaro mind expanding on the lack of eCommerce functionality? Am considering using it, but that's my one hangup.
100% I’m going to be using symbols for footer layouts lol. Thanks man.
It’s like the moment Wordpress got annoying, Webflow saved the day.
Awesome info ! Muchas gracias 🤯👍
Great demo Mr Ben Burns! Thank you.
I really feel this could set me apart and bring my services to the next level. Thank you so much for this awesome content!
thanks, I'm really inspired by this channel it gives me a lot
Great video man! I am new to using Webflow and already love it. You have now convinced me to keep going and do even more with it.
Would love to see some portfolio site building tutorials!
Hunter Lewis good idea
Instead of using Symbols to reuse layouts, you guys could also Ctrl+C/Ctrl+V the elements of the structure. It takes fewer steps. Though, it was a great idea to do that as well.
What if you are working on a different project and need that same element? What if you are working on a different page and want to try out different layouts? Library gives you access to all your template so you don't need to switch back and forth between pages.
I have been through a great journey with you guys through your series
It was a job well done and a great series!!
Thank you guys
Wow, this can be a real game changer for Design Agencies. What were the limitations of webflow in your opinion? Is it really as good as it seems?
It absolutely is! eCommerce and user dashboards are where WP really has the advantage though.
Good move, Webflow! Marketing done right.
I totally agree with your Webflow assessment.
Ben, this is just SUPER USEFUL! I've just started designing my portfolio in Webflow and that certainly helps. Hope you guys will post more UI/UX/Web Design stuff in the channel! All the best to you, you must be a cool guy! :D
AWESOME!! .

Ben you can use % for width before but responsive layouts use media queries for screen sizes to adjust font and picture sizes on scale.
Thanks!
Beautiful design!
We surely need more people like you.
awesome use of symbols! never thought of that lol Webflow + The Futur = Awesomeness
@mrbenburns is a really good presenter.
@@MatthewEncina yeah and we love that. 😊
Waeez thanks!
@@mrbenburns 😊
You can make use of classes instead of symbols to build similar layouts on different pages. Just give a unique class name to a two grid column layout and use it everywhere. The properties would stay the same because of the class.
Good video on the ease of use with Webflow and the extras it packs in. Just wondering if some of the bugs you encountered were viewable on the app and browser/devices? And does the client need a Webflow account to maintain the website?
