  • Bringing about systemic change to increase upward mobility from poverty and racial equity is no simple task, and large-scale change cannot be made by government alone. But counties and cities have powerful data, policy levers, and capacity that can catalyze this change.
This workshop is for leaders who are ready to take the next steps on increasing mobility and equity in communities. Note: attendees will have preferably already attended the first two workshops of the series (Introducing Local Leaders to the Upward Mobility Framework & the Mobility Metrics Workshop).
During the session, Urban experts will provide practical guidance on how to apply the Upward Mobility Framework and Mobility Metrics to effect meaningful change, drawing from several key elements of the mobility planning process outlined in the Planning Guide for Local Action.
Attendees will be able to engage in an interactive discussion and explore real-world case studies of communities who are using Urban’s tools and data to increase upward mobility and racial equity.
About the Upward Mobility Initiative: We provide local leaders with data, tools, and guidance to help move people out of poverty and to close equity gaps in communities. Led by our training and technical assistance experts, our Upward Mobility Workshop series will show you how to begin leveraging the Upward Mobility Framework to create pathways to economic success, ensure all community members are valued and included, and individuals have the power and autonomy to shape their own futures.
