Thank you for posting this video! Just moved into a rental and evidently no one has ever cleaned the dishwasher before…very simple and straightforward! Much appreciated 😊
A lot of people don't clean the filter, and they get gross quickly, especially if you leave a lot of food on dishes. Really appreciate the feedback on the video as I aim to make short, simple, and easy to follow videos.
Thanks a lot for this video. Really straight forward. My dishwasher literally not cleaning the dishes as I never cleaned my dishwasher filter for the last 8 years after I got it new. My spouse wants to call the handyman. Your video saved me $$. Thanks
Extremely helpful, moved into a house and the dishes weren’t getting as clean as we thought they should be, and dishwasher cleaners weren’t completely helping or getting the mold out. Being able to disassemble and wash the filters was very satisfying and helpful!
This was the source of the problem in our dishwasher. Must have been years of neglect built up. Something the technician ignored. Thanks for the insight!
Thank you for this video, I've been renting this house for many years and the dishwashers have been switched out now and again but this one stopped getting my dishes clean so I'm thankful for your video
Great video! Unfortunately, the part you call a “clasp” is misaligned and I might break those clips removing it. I can’t seem to find the part with GE. Can you tell me what GE calls this part?
I wasn't able to easily remove that screen at the bottom of the dishwasher in mine however I did lift up the corners and was able to get a long handled brush under it to do a little clean out of it
That’s not a complete job. You need to take out the large white plastic mesh filter and clean that and everything under it. That whole tub needs to be scrubbed and the heating element as well that is disgusting.
There will be a pipe that runs from the dishwasher to the drain under your sink. Mine is clear, and I can see some build-up in there. This builds up over time. Another possible reason for the dishwasher not draining is a piece of food like a bit of cabbage blocking the drain in the dishwasher. I have had that happen to me.

Same here! It's covered in ages of old junk, even broken plastic cups. So glad I found this to explain how to get in there to clean it.
All DIY videos should be like this. Straight and to the point. Thank you!

Thanks! We just got a dishwasher and had no clue how to get to the filter. I thought I was going to break it- but I see the notches now 😊
I'm glad that I could help you out.

It gets pretty gross in there, even after a few months, can't imagine years.
@@DIYwithCam yes, absolutely disgusting, but now no residue on the bottom side of the bowls, just clear water. Thanks again!

Glad it was helpful!
thank you! straightforward and clear instructions.
Glad to help.
Thank you very much for posting this!! Saved me a huge headache.
I'm glad I could help before the headache set in.

Oh, I'm not sure what that part is called. I would look in the manual if you can find it online and see what it's called.
Nice video, much easier to get off than GE model with similar look
Good to know, and thanks for watching
Is there a way to pull that white screen/mesh at the bottom out to clean under it?
You will need to remove the water inlet pipe and the grey screen to the right. You then may be in theory able to remove the screen on the bottom.

What type of dishwasher is this.
GE
Thank you!
No problem at all. I'm happy to help.
No worries
Well this video got popular.
Thanks

Filter was clean and this thing still ain’t worth a damn.
Is your drain clogged?
@@DIYwithCam not sure on how to check that in a dishwasher.

Where do we check for a piece of food? Where is the drain you mention that the cabbage could block? @@DIYwithCam
@@DIYwithCam I used a wet dry vacuum to suck out the water and whatever else might have been in there. Do you see a problem with doing that?
