"making boba from scratch is actually pretty easy" *starts with water and a kind of sugar I've never heard before* *and then again a weird named flour*
Fun fact, the Butterfly Pea flower is an example of a natural pH indicator. The reason that the colour of the tea turns purple when you add lemon juice is because the addition of citric acid lowers the pH, and increases hydronium ion concentration. This disrupts the equilibrium reaction of the Indicator found in the chemicals of the butterfly pea tea, resulting in higher concentration of the purple indicator of the tea, causing it to become purple.
My first time having boba: I was on a trip to London. I'm from northern Ireland. We don't have boba/bubble tea here, I had never heard of it before... So when my friend offered me to sip I tried it and didn't realise the pearls at the bottom were edible. It shocked me that they went up the straw so fast and I chocked on the boba pearls and accidentally became a camal and spewed the drink out. Then a drug addict began begging money from me and robbed my friend.
Fact; homemade boba taste way different than you buy it at store. Another fact: milk tea is not adding fresh milk to the tea but adding creamer powder.
We do actually make milk tea with fresh milk... Usually involves mixing half a cup of black tea with half a cup of milk... The amounts differ based on your taste, though

@@gloomyxox8437 of course!!! To be totally honest I had the same problem so I just continued to add tapioca flour until I got a similar texture. My dough was slightly dry but not crumbly.
