Omg I was 4 in 1964 I always loved the original song by the Drifters it reminds me of when me and my siblings and parents went to Santa Cruz, CA when I was a child. But the STONES! My FAVE band since I was 2 in 1962 singing this gem?!! ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💋💋💋💋💋 the Stones amped it up to a whole new level! Love you dear Brian RIP. Great photos he was so young and handsome. 🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹
It's such a nostalgic song, isn't it? It brings back memories of those summer days spent with family during childhood. While the original is great, the Stones' cover is also superb. Brian Jones was truly a talented and handsome man.❤🎶🎸
This is one of my very favorite songs, no matter who does it! The total sound of this recording though, is phenomenal. Triangles, gourds, tamborines, 12 strings, and fabulous bass.👍👏👍
This was a huge hit in Australia in the summer of '64 - it's a brilliant version, full of atmosphere. I think Australia is the only country where it was a hit, in England I don't think they even bothered to release it as a single. In a couple of Stones Bios they say they don't like it. Weird.
i love this song! It really evokes nostalgic feelings. But why didn't they like this song? By the way, thank you for the information about this song at the time.

@@geristracener5253 But on the other hand, Brian was exceptionally sensitive and in a mentally unstable state. It's hard to imagine the considerable mental strength it must have taken for him to bounce back...😢😢
No offence but I’ve been a fan of the Stones since 1967 and though Brian was a versatile musician he couldn’t write and he used to tell people that Mick and Keith were sellouts and Satisfaction was a crappy song and was bipolar and depressive and abusive and hopelessly drugged out ( so was Keith but Keith showed up and wrote and preformed. Look I think it’s sad what happened to Brian tragically sad and I am a fan of his but I can’t deny the kind of person even his friends said he was. Charlie and Bill too. He fathered 5 children by the time he was 21 and gave practically nothing to them and abandoned them all. It says on his grave ‘ Don’t Judge Me Too Harshly ‘ very sad indeed.
I've also heard bad things bout Mick and Keith but im judging Brian Jones not on his personal but musical career and outlook. I actually agree about Satisfaction and liked what Brian Jones did , his influence and accompaniment on Under my thumb was brilliant. At the end of the day he was a kid having kids so maybe we have judged him to harshly. We all made mistakes.
@@TheRightHonourableMattyMcHoon agreed. I think he contributed so much with his versatility and eclectic input. Truly gave them some unique sounds. It’s too bad he was so damaged.
OMG what a GEM! Never heard this gorgeous version from the STONES! RIP dearest Brian Jones🌹🌹🌹🌹🌹

He was a very talented and versatile musician. He contributed so much to early Stones albums with his musical expertise.

Looks like he was a good swimmer. Hint , hint.
I still have my doubts about his death. I still think the manager and Mick knew more of it.
