Sorry, but the frame test was complete BS. The bending moments were distributed over 8 points on the frame only about a 1ft away from the pickup points. 60klbs is 15klbs per pickup point, spread over a 2ft section, that's a 7.5k ft/lb bending moment for each of the 8 cable points.

That crane stunt was a total joke, there would be such minimal force distributed on the frame at the top by the way its secured to the crane lines, the crane is the only member taking any substantial force.
If only they knew it could have been a couple of wood beams there and the result would be the same. To demonstrate strength of the frame the way they are trying they should have hung them in the middle of the frame with the crane supporting the outer portion.

They are known to be unreliable crap. My family is in the fencing business, so obviously we need strong trucks. Tried a new Ford for the fuck of it, and it was garbage. The only reason we bought one was because the Ford dealership gave sooooo many incentives lmao. With Ford offering a new truck for a super low price, why not? Well, no wonder Ford gives so many incentives that lower the price and thus get people inside their cars... Their vehicles are garbage. We only use Sierras and Silverados now. Those have been super reliable. My uncle has one at 400k in Texas. He owns a ranch lol.

+jldude84 if you have ever looked at the design of chevy the last few years it's going in a circle. the last "modern" appearance were the v style headlights from 02-06. the new body style from 06 till 2014 mimicked the 1980s single headlight and curved 98 body. the 2014- current looks like the 1990s split headlights with curved edges. who knows what style they are going to copy next from their history, maybe the 98-02 boxed lights curved body? the only major differences have been the technology. my 05 silverado I wish had a box frame, but o well I can't complain. I only have only 1 problem currently thats major. ring and pinion are going out. but what do you expect with a truck I've drag raced, tow loads, and use daily with 250k miles. can't beat the reliability!
I know from personal experience on a 99 f250 super duty v10 almost no scheduled maintenance and we hit 300k already. Sure it burns a little oil from neglected oil changes but still runs strong everyday never stranded. Transmission fluid has never been changed ethier. The 99 is reliability.
robfrmny21 ive changed the all the coils once and the spark plugs 2 times never had a problem with them blown out. The exhaust I've never had to even mess with cuase I live in florida.

The issue is vw claims the vehicle produced y amount of pollution and it does when the vehicle detects it being test for emission testing. When it's not being tested it actually produced z amount which was 40% more then vw claimed. That's fraud buddy. BMW is now caught up in this as well not meeting claimed emission levels
VW rigged their 2.0 diesels with illegal software to fool emissions testing that they were polluting less than they actually were. They lied several times about it before finally fessing up. It's a scandal. That's why their in deep shit.

all I wanted to know from this video was if the new super duty would keep its solid front axle. Its one of the very few, if the only, pick up trucks built that still has one standard.
ok... if you notice when doing the weight test with multiple trucks the anchor point on the frame is aligned with the anchor points of the cables attached to the crane. Therefore as long as the anchor points are stable there will be no bending of the frame. A better test for frame resistance to bending would be to suspend the trucks from the center of the frame. I doubt it could support a single truck without visible stress bending.
All that weights was hooked up th the same spot where crane cable is lifting the frame so that is not gonna give stress to the test frame as much as you think. It doesn't really matter other than show. Another thing or a question is after all that futures loaded super duty is gonna cost $80k instead $70k now like they did with the f150 trucks. I have 2013 f150 limited price was almost $55 k I priced new platinum sticker on the truck was almost $67 k. It just crazy.

The frame test isn't legit. They suspended the trucks directly in line with the frame's rigging, so there isn't much strain, making it an unfair test. It's testing the crane's strength more than anything.
I'm a automotive enthusiast that can find beauty in anything on wheels. I tend to lean towards GM trucks tho(own a 2014 Silverado). I have taken a liking to the Super Dutys when the 08 6.4 trucks hit the streets and really like the 2011- 6.7 trucks a lot. If I was looking to buy a heavy duty truck(which I will be in a few years) there is a few things I MUST have. It must have solid axles, it must have a locking rear diff, it must have at least 400hp 700tq, it must sit tall, it must look good and it has to have a strong aftermarket cause I like to lift and mod my trucks. I can honestly say the GM's would prob be my last consideration in the HD market. I really like the looks of this truck but can it back up the hype? We will see!! I can't wait to see one of these new ford Super Dutys lifted 6+ inches on at least 37s.
as an egnineer i can say that the "frame Strength Test " is Bull**** . For a Reasonable test the forces should travel the way they would in the truck when in use.
They also forgot to mention that the F-150 wastes more gas than a Ram 1500, Just cause your body is lighter doesnt mean anything when you have a tiny motor, Also your turbos break easily and they're a pain in the ass to fix so you have to take it to a dealership and pay out the ass for it. I think the guys at ford need an education in physics. Sure they hung 8 trucks off a super duty frame, but they hung the load right on the supporting force. You could hang a s-10 frame up there and get the same result. If they hung those f-1fittys from the center of the frame, or the outside and had the support tied to the middle, THEN it would be impressive if it held 8 trucks.

i had a 7.3 and loved it, but i just picked up a 6.7 and i am quickly starting to love it as well.
8 years later these 2017 super duties have proved themselves to be better then any 7.3 could ever dream of.

The issue is vw claims the vehicle produced y amount of pollution and it does when the vehicle detects it being test for emission testing.
When it's not being tested it actually produced z amount which was 40% more then vw claimed.

VW rigged their 2.0 diesels with illegal software to fool emissions testing that they were polluting less than they actually were. They lied several times about it before finally fessing up. It's a scandal. That's why their in deep shit.
+jldude84 small diesel engines with good emissions is just stupid. The engine will end up having less and less power while it already is small and low power. Exhaust gas recircleation is the worst thing you could do to an engine. It will ruin it's lifetime, it's power and it will cost more. Besides VW is not even a thing on american roads. If they really would be about 'cleaning' their market they would for sure make life harder for Toyota. VW must be the least thing to worry about. I have to say they have come up with some nice stuff for the 2017 but some of the things i would like to hear is what they are doing for the salt that we see up here in the north in the winter. My 350 looked great on top but it was very bad under and over the wheel wells alot of rot even rinsing it under.they boxed the frame like gm so i would assume no more body flexing.

The Ram has been the best looking truck since 2009 I think. It has that rounded truck shape. Chevy and Ford have gone as square as a box, they both used to have a rounded front end too.

ok... if you notice when doing the weight test with multiple trucks the anchor point on the frame is aligned with the anchor points of the cables attached to the crane. Therefore as long as the anchor points are stable there will be no bending of the frame. A better test for frame resistance to bending would be to suspend the trucks from the center of the frame. I doubt it could support a single truck without visible stress bending.
So this is just a 20 min ad?

All that weights was hooked up th the same spot where crane cable is lifting the frame so that is not gonna give stress to the test frame as much as you think. It doesn't really matter other than show. Another thing or a question is after all that futures loaded super duty is gonna cost $80k instead $70k now like they did with the f150 trucks. I have 2013 f150 limited price was almost $55 k I priced new platinum sticker on the truck was almost $67 k. It just crazy.
I wouldn't mind being a Tester for Ford or even an Automotive Technician for them, tried all the Ford Garages within 30 miles and also Volkswagen and Peugeot and Audi and got nothing out of my CV's, I have tried 61 places with CV's and applications to all sorts of companies, been trying since December, completed my City & Guilds Automotive Level 2 Diploma at Grade Merit in June. I also have another 10-14 qualifications that I have achieved over the years.
I use my Super Duty as a daily driver!! LoL : ) It really has motivated me to get my boat repaired!

The frame test isn't legit. They suspended the trucks directly in line with the frame's rigging, so there isn't much strain, making it an unfair test. It's testing the crane's strength more than anything.

I'm a automotive enthusiast that can find beauty in anything on wheels. I tend to lean towards GM trucks tho(own a 2014 Silverado). I have taken a liking to the Super Dutys when the 08 6.4 trucks hit the streets and really like the 2011- 6.7 trucks a lot. If I was looking to buy a heavy duty truck(which I will be in a few years) there is a few things I MUST have. It must have solid axles, it must have a locking rear diff, it must have at least 400hp 700tq, it must sit tall, it must look good and it has to have a strong aftermarket cause I like to lift and mod my trucks. I can honestly say the GM's would prob be my last consideration in the HD market. I really like the looks of this truck but can it back up the hype? We will see!! I can't wait to see one of these new ford Super Dutys lifted 6+ inches on at least 37s.

as an egnineer i can say that the "frame Strength Test " is Bull**** . For a Reasonable test the forces should travel the way they would in the truck when in use.

They also forgot to mention that the F-150 wastes more gas than a Ram 1500, Just cause your body is lighter doesnt mean anything when you have a tiny motor, Also your turbos break easily and they're a pain in the ass to fix so you have to take it to a dealership and pay out the ass for it. 10:00 Sorry to say but that frame is not experiencing much bending moment, there is no lever arm between the cables from the top of the crane and the cables hanging down the frame.

I think the guys at ford need an education in physics. Sure they hung 8 trucks off a super duty frame, but they hung the load right on the supporting force. You could hang a s-10 frame up there and get the same result. If they hung those f-1fittys from the center of the frame, or the outside and had the support tied to the middle, THEN it would be impressive if it held 8 trucks.
