Akala and kano interview is worth a watch
Listen to Dave's black ... hardest shit out uk since kano
What you should definitely listen to from this specific album is "We're all alone", "Three Rivers", "Both Sides of a smile" and "Survivor's Guilt". Other than that, Dave has an insane catalog, I'm sure you will find the best recommendations here (like "Screwface Capital", etc.)
These are all excellent recommendations, exactly the Dave he's after
I think the difference is that although u can commit terror with a knife. There is a limit to how much damage u can do with knives as opposed 2 guns. There will always be violence anywhere in the world ur in its human nature unfortunately. What u hope to do is reduce the number of potential victims.
Also not everyone who can pull a trigger have the same level of guts to literally stab someone to death. Pulling a trigger is too easy. Guns are literally killing machines, knives have actual purposes.
Overall it’s a complex argument with many factors but the one thing that clearly makes a huge difference is banning weapons. If we can learn a lesson from America, the proliferation of guns made the country more dangerous, not safer and the same is true everywhere. Guns don’t make society safer or more free, they do the opposite. In the USA you’re more than 5 x more likely to get murdered than the U.K. and schools require armed guards, airport style security and kids live in fear and have to practice live gunman drills, this isn’t freedom, it’s more akin to prison. Finally and back to the original point, the argument is complex and is made up of many factors. Dave may talk about dangers of London but ultimately London is far safer than any major US city and one final point is the U.S. has a far worse knife crime problem than the U.K. - so let’s continue on focusing on removing deadly weapons from the hands of our civilians of any type.
Plus nobody can walk into kids school with a fucking ar-15 and gun the kids down in these countries that have no guns yes there’s knife crime but it’s only gang on gangs not fucking physcos knifing kids.
In an open area that may be true .. but imagine a guy in a schoolroom full of children , he could stab every single kid with just as much if not more violence and cause alot more damage. And tons more blood .
@@LeeXRV all you had to say was the word city ... those are the problems . Most of the violence comes out of those big cities. Of course you have incidents in places like uvalde. But what people don't understand is the fact that .... criminals will get guns no matter what .. they don't care about laws , that is the part where the word criminal comes into play .. a criminal has access to things that most people wouldn't.. even regular people with money can't get access to some of the things criminals can get ahold of .. because it takes a criminal to get it for you . For instance... it's illegal for me to own automatic weapons..... but if I was a criminal , that law means absolutely nothing to me .. we need less criminals .. not less guns. Hell , you can look up on youtube RIGHT NOW .... "how to make a zip gun" and a 10 year old could make one in an hour .. it's that easy ! With 3d printed parts I can make a fairly sophisticated gun in less than 24 hours. All you need is a barrel basically... the rest is simply preferences. But , for many people , it's easier to blame the big scary black gun ... than to blame the scary dangerous criminal that uses the gun to commit crimes with .
Santan Dave is insanely lyrical, I mean it's just crazy
“I ain’t crying in this beef unless the tears coming tatted on the side of my cheek” 🥵
Ouch
That’s a hard ass line oml🔥🔥
Its a masterpiece. I believe the ending is his mother telling her story
My 24th birthday is his latest drop do my 19th birthday first
It's not the same thing. When was the last time a knife wielding kid in the UK slaughtered double digits worth of Kids at school while the police cowered outside, scared of being slaughtered themselves?
There is nothing wrong with responsible gun owners. There is plenty wrong with using false equivalence to justify deregulating or never introducing regulation to deadly weapon ownership.
If it was a toy a few kids choked on, it would be recalled and nobody would bat an eye. Why are firearms treated any differently and when will innocent lives mean more to you than people who shouldn't have guns having their access to guns reduced?
The numbers of knife deaths in the UK per year do not even approach the number of gun deaths in the USA per month. Both are tragic, that doesn't mean doing nothing and allowing people to continue using automatic weapons is the right thing to do.
What’s different is the mindset of killers here in the UK and these school shooters in America, these boys in the UK think killing next man is him gaining points for his postcode and they’re focused on plugging like minded lads but the school shooters in the US are killing randoms young toddlers for crying out loud all because they think it’s their only way to get revenge for the bullying or shitty childhood they had. The two groups aren’t even comparable.
When I was growing up in Glasgow Scotland in the 90s knife crime was a lot more prevalent than london ever will be, I think the root problem is drill music. As much as I love the genre I think if we had a similar scene here in the 90s or early 00s Glasgow would’ve been a warzone. When u grow up in the gutter violence tends to be the go to form of entertainment but I think drill music motivates people to take things too far.
Exactly... another key point Knife crime in the UK is also not in school settings, Its largely drug related and targeted towards one specific group or person or used for "protection"
@@freshyyd2584 Interesting Point. But I think its important to remember that correlation is not causation. As far as I can see knifecrime is a product of its enviroment, e.g. poverty, marginalization and most of the time also abuse at home, in school and from society at large. And also the big problem of „When so and so is armed, I need to be armed too“ Same problem with guns in america. More weapons always lead to more harm, not more safety. Drill music is a symptom of that lifestyle not its cause as far as I understand it. I can really recommend looking at Akala speaking on the matter on good morning britain. Hes laying down some super important facts there.
@@freshyyd2584Your comment refutes itself. If the knife crime was way worse in Glasgow (and I’ve heard this is true) but there was no drill music, how is it drill music in London? Makes no sense. Surely look for the common denominators in Glasgow and London - poverty, ignorance, lack of opportunity, disaffected young men etc.
Yes mate, I’ve been waiting for you to do this one, there’s loads of heavy Dave tracks to do maybe panic attack live which is a sort of prequel to this or Lesley a song about domestic violence
What a shout Lesley is!
I hope dave sees this reaction someday, it's definitely a must watch.
Some of the deeper Dave tracks you should listen to: Pycho, Environment, Hangman, My 19th Birthday, My 24th Birthday, Lesley and to really learn about him you should definetely listen to his Blackbox Freestyle he was only 16 in it but it goes stupid hard, the anger in his voice and the way he told the story of his come up, hi struggles and the struggles his family had to go through
Dope reaction btw I always wish for you to discover more of Dave, he truly is one of the greatest Artist of all time in my opinion
First album had a song called panic attack this is on the second. They may end up as a series we look back on if he continues them.
Best song on the album for me
Just to let you know panic attack was on six paths which was an EP not an album, psychodrama was his first album and didn’t contain an “attack” song on it, and game over was also released between six paths and psychodrama which was another EP which didn’t either so it’s not a theme for him to have one on every album or even every project he releases, but this is deffo a spiritual sequel to panic attack and I hope he releases more of these songs to make it a series
@@bensargent2990 ah yeah thats right it was on an ep. I forget about the ep’s like that and game over its all just on a play list. My bad as was just listening to 19th birthday as well 😂
The way you speak is comforting
I hear what you're saying about gun crime and how the removal of guns will lead to increased knife crime. It's worth pointing out though that The USA already has a higher incident rate of knife crime per capita than The UK. Removal of the method doesn't address the problem; The USA has more violent crime. People need to focus on why there is more violent crime not how it's committed. I feel you addressed this more than most commentators on the subject. Banning guns is not a solution to ending violence, sure it will have an effect on the number of casualties in each incident but it won't reduce the number of incidents which should be the whole point.
It’s very common in the USA for people to always be carrying a blade of some sort though in the UK it’s illegal to be carrying a blade over 3” long
@@freshyyd2584 in my state it’s illegal to carry a knife with a blade longer than 4”
Pulling the trigger is a hell of a lot easier for those cowards than physically stabbing someone with a knife. Banning guns will almost certainly reduce the number of incidents as well
I'm with you, man. There's only a very small handful of Dave tracks I like (I'm more boombap than grime), but those couple of tracks are THE MOST important tracks ever penned. I'd love to see him ride this lane.
Dave has plenty of those, most of his older songs fall in that category you just need to look
Psycho has to be next it's one of his best songs for him showing his talent with bars and varied flows and styles throughout the song.
And talking about having manic depression whilst constantly changing emotions throughout the song
Dave one of the best lyricists in the world
Dave is so underrated he’s basically a British Kendrick lamar
13:04 😂bro really pulled out the strap
Genuine reaction with genuine comments almost impulsive comments = subscribed
Heavy track by Dave! Do “Psycho” by Dave next ! You could never go wrong with it I promise !
I love the way you explain shit, such a good reaction
Pumped to watch this one!!!!! I can't imagine you aren't a fan. Dave is cool like the other side of the pillow.
Please do dave lesley! Incredible storytelling
It’s refreshing to see a reaction when the person actually gets the bars I had to subscribe 🙌🏻
You gotta do more Dave bro honestly one of the best musicians to come out of the uk 100%
The best
"my OGs are roaming (rome-ing), i dont need to call to see them (colosseum)", then a couple bars later "sistine chapel, ima paint the ceiling" back to Rome, insane talent
survivors guilt is a good one to listen to... honestly though you could do a whole album review from his last project... masterpiece
The end is Daves mum talking about Daves brother getting locked up in prison. So heartbreaking
Bruh, I've been seeing your reactions for the past month or so now. And DAMN am I impressed. AND THEN YOU COME WITH THE NARUTO SHIRT ON?!? MY GUY!!!!!
Anyways, Dave is a gift to this Earth. So happy you're exploring more of his music. Keep it up big dawg!
“Used the word ‘fell’ with the commas inverted” 😶
More UK reactions 🙏
TFL is referring to the trainlines in London and the northern line is one of the tube lines in London.
Does anyone realise that if the lady at the end (Dave's Mum) wasn't so determined to leave Africa and get to the UK, we may never have even heard Dave?
I’ll play this 7/18/23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin!
Watched a few vids from UK I like you as a person tbh
Great reaction as always.
Lesley from his first album
I think there’s parallel between both blades and firearms, but come on, you can’t act ignorant and portray them as both equally lethal.
How many mass stabbings happen and result into the amount of casualties as mass shootings that happen bi-weekly in the US?
It's the kids who r scared so they draw knives. Us old skool settle with fists. No one dies and it's dealt with. This world is scary for the youth. Not enough years to see wisdom so the violence persists. All pushed to hate that leads to suffering and pain
Amen sir
try reacting to panic attack by dave. just as amazing
We're all alone, Three Rivers, Survivors Guilt from this album.
Never watched your videos before today, but I was not expecting you to pull out the strap.
Defo more beatles and DAVE he dropped very recently By the way my 24th birthday its a powerful great song again
Got to react to some joe James, underrated uk artist
The naruto Sweatie is lit🔥🔥🔥
MORE DAVE!
Damn, somebody trying to use a knife at a parade sounds so much better than a gun or truck. I just wanted to thank you for bringing some knowledge to an uninformed American like myself about the crime in other countries. Great reaction. I have only heard like 2 other UK rap songs. Need to keep digging. Also, love that second channel you made!
Good content ✌🏾
COLOSSEUM = CALL AND SEE THEM
I definitely agree that there needs to be an increased focus on the causes of violence in both countries however guns are legal in the UK but you have to have have a good reason to own one. There was a mass shooting in a school back in 1996 which is when the government decided to put strict regulations on gun ownership in the UK... that was the last massacre on school grounds to ever occur.
Guns can kill multiple people in a very short period of time, not equitable to a knife. No member of public should be allowed to carry either. In scotland gun crime basically does not exist (because guns are banned). We are dealing with knives through a social approach
true but you can't kill a room of people with a knife in seconds
Bout time 😂
Anemia is the lack of a blood part. Usually it’s iron but that’s not the only cause. I’m missing an enzyme in my blood that our livers make.
Shirt's fire
May I ask where you got that shirt from?
M6 is a motorway going north
And tfl is transport for London
He saying he don’t need tfl to sell drugs up north
Do psycho next
yes people will cause violence with guns or not... but... without guns that violence is alot more manageable.... love the reaction though hahhaha
Listen to kano .. fire in the booth and this is england ... gwan gwan
My OG's roamin I don't need to call to see em
you need to listen to LESLEY!!!!!
Dave dropped a song recently called my 24rh birthday defo check it out
So what if British Criminals had such easy access to guns?
You're looking at it the wrong way.
There is guns just not as accessible..
No bro. Look at mass stabbings in the last year in the uk vs mass shootings in the US In the last month
Or look at knife deaths in the uk compared to gun deaths in the Us per population numbers in the last week
Knife crime is worse in the USA than it is in the UK. Look it up. You jus don't hear about it because the guns are louder.
Check out daves .. black ... dope as fuck
thing is, usa has worse knife crime per capita than the uk so its not like guns or knives usa just has both
React to psycho next
Dave 🐐
"Leslie" or "How i met my ex"
👍
lmao you just said that knives and guns are the same thing? you cant mass kill people with a knife. simple as that
1:47sec..the difference is how many multiple mass stabbing do you HEAR off compared to Multiple mass shootings.yes they both are bad but 1 is Far less damaging than the other...👍
My OG's roaming, I don't need to call to see him
suppot battles
When you remove the guns there will be less gun violence …..yes they will be less of it. It’s to do with the power of the weapon right ? You don’t hear about mass knifings around the world ?
Watch Blue Story you lot
I couldn’t listen when the mum was speaking bro it was too much for me I could see the struggle 😕🙁😕
good reaction. more personal : PANIC ATTACK , ENVIRONMENT, My 19th birthday, HOW I met my ex
Is it possible .... to get a translator on this or something ? Maybe the lyrics on screen would help , because I couldn't understand anything but every third or fourth word. It's almost an accent way too thick .. than it needs to be. I have heard alot of artists from the uk , but none of them are this hard to understand.
Bruh what.
Rob u speak our language😂
@@qwertyreejej9584 Right , but when I " speak" that language I can be understood just fine . Unlike this guy .
For me Dave is one of the easier uk artists to understand he speaks quite clearly
@@KBTjames Yeah , I'm not saying NOBODY can understand what he is saying. Just that I couldn't. But then again , I have a hard time understanding what many american rappers are saying . So it might not be so much the accent as it could be some of the slang words that I don't get. I will give it another listen and see if I can decipher the lyrics.
