@rlcopeti well.... nirvana, you see, covered a great many of their songs, so this is respect payed back. i imagine its slow because its mourning. this is an incredible cover, and like turchino92 said, any real nirvana fan gets why the vaselines would cover a song of theirs, and they would know that slowing it down makes it even more fantastic.
If you really know Nirvana and the Vaselines you'll prob agree this is one of the best covers on this album. It's such a fitting tribute from the Vaselines to Kurt. Beautiful and haunting. i agree that Kurt would have loved this.

There are plenty of bands Kurt loved that I don't like. I love Nirvana and Kurt Cobain is one of my favorite musicians but his opinions aren't solid in ground. I like the Vaselines. But this is no where near my favorite song on this album.
i love the way they stripped the track to nothing and made it there own, i think nirvana would be honored that the Vaselines paid tribute to them, definitely.
@rlcopeti i wasnt talking about the cobain/stipe album. it was the never recorded 4th album, he was going to go extremely slow. and the Vaselines are rock, this song is this slow probably to mourn their lost friend. but w/e you can have your opinion, i dont really care.

For the people who say they "lost the idea" or "kurt cobain won't like this" there's a reason to why its very different to the original, the same way nirvana covers of the vaselines were fo very different to the original, they just took the song and made their own version of it, hence the term "tribute"

+Majoras kurt was a big fan of the vasoline he would have been more than happy to know they did a cover of one of is song the vasoline way
+Majoras the "yeah's" are there, very subtle but they're there if you listen carefully. And to me it was the perfect choice, totally anti-mainstream.
