    apart from being a rare document about a tragically lost potential champion, this also is a testament of jackie stewarts sportsmanship.

      But he comes across as a bit bitter towards Lewis Hamilton who is also a fantastic competitor.

      You just wouldn’t get that now in an f1 team,Jackie had nothing else to prove so he took Cevert under his wing.Master and apprentice.Jackie was never the same after Cevert died.He said so in his autobiography.He was grooming him to be World Champion

      Agree could turn any hetrosexual man into fancing him, beautiful indeed and horrible this beautiful soul died young and horrible death; he would easily won 1-2 WDC (becoming France's first F1 WDC) and wondering what his life would be post F1.

    A very handsome man, young and full of life. I know the cliched “He died doing what he loved”....but so sad when you think of what he might have accomplished along with racing.....a family, children. RIP Francois Cevert.

      leewat motor racing was just so dangerous back then. Francois was killed in such an absolutely horrific manner. His death is still the worst I've ever heard of.

    The Tyrrell 007 was a good car that Schekter took to two wins and 4 podiums, so with that I have no doubt Cevert could have won the 1974 title. Sad all around.

    What are the most destructive terrible accidents in formula 1 history...
    For many many reasons...
    When Jackie Stewart walked up to the accident he could see that Francois had literally been ripped in half...
    His legs and half his torso were laying in the grass, with his upper half, still in the wreckage...
    I only speak these details to speak of the severity of the accident in the horribleness of it...
    And could you imagine how Jackie must have felt in that moment?...
    Seeing his best friend the guy he had just talked to moments before now in the state?...
    Freaking horrible...

    F1 was glamorous back then, drivers had charisma, now in 2024 it's very sterile and quiet frankly boring

      He die at my 17 th birthday! A tragic destiny! Him and Clay Regazzoni of Ferrari they was my idols ! I was sure the next year in 1974 he became world champion ! But sorry the fate was so cruel with him! .RIP Francois !🙏❤

    Cevert most likely wins the 76 Championship in a 6 wheel had he not died in that crash. Tragic loss for the sport.

    If only François had survived to compete in the ‘74 season and beyond; with his talent, and Sir Jackie’s guidance, my God. He might have even ultimately turned out to be a better driver than Jim Clark.
