- How is it that I'm a night owl and possibly the busiest person on the planet and I hate mornings and love sleep?!! Why am I like this... This week I take on the challenge of waking up at 5am for a full week.

I never used to be a morning person and definitely more of a night owl. But as I get older, it's switched. My body naturally wakes me up at 5:40am on the dot without fail every single day and my family calls me crazy because I'm so high energy by 7am
I would love to get in tune with my natural alarm clock!
@@kayla.nelson the way I did it was scheduling a lot of morning activities that I would actually do and make it part of my routine so I actually enjoyed it. My body eventually got used to the early mornings

I’ve been using my Sun alarm for a few years now! I love it, I have it wake me up with some nature noises so what’s REALLY waking me up is the sounds but the sun helps me gradually wake up.
See I turned the sounds off but maybe I need them 🧐
I was never a morning person. Like ever. 😂 now, I wake up at 4:30-5:00 AM everyday. I love it! I can get so much time to myself and I see it as an opportunity for self care rather than a burden! I still do have a hard time actually getting up though.. idk if that ever goes away.

I have the same alarm clock and I love it. I think I use the bedtime light/noise setting to help me get into sleep mode more than the morning alarm.
I was doing research on the alarm, and I do love that it has froggy sounds. I keep going back and forth

I’ve used a sunrise alarm for years and now I’m fully trained to only wake up with light - in the summer I don’t need anything. Yes, I am that smug no-alarm gal.

I’ve found having dogs is the best way to consistently get up at the same time! My husband gets up at 5am seven days a week because the dogs get restless around 4:30am-4:45am. I only get up at 5am four days a week when I have a client at 8:30am. I try to get up earlier on the weekends because I know it’s bad to “catch up” on sleep but my body just knows that we sleep til 6:30am on the weekends. It is great to be able to get in a workout, meditate, and eat breakfast and still have plenty of time to get ready on weekdays.
Love that! Unfortunately as a cat owner they sleep like 16hrs per day haha
@@kayla.nelson Oh, dogs are the same too. They eat breakfast and go right back to sleep for like 6 hours! 😂

I'm getting used to go to the gym al 7.30 am, I HATE the feelling of waking up, but I love that by 9 am I have already exercised, got a shower, a coffee and I'm ready to start my workday :D
For me, I get up, immediately get out of bed and make myself a coffee. I like to get up early and have a stretch and do pilates, then a slow start doing my makeup and getting ready.
My biggest struggle is the “immediately getting up” haha

Morning routines are the best but they do take time to get used to. I love your videos and I love your new hair color ❤❤
You have trouble to wake up in the morning because you don't do it when a sleep cycle ends. One cycle is on average 90 min. Good sleep has 4 or 5 cycles depending on your bio status. Additional Light-alarm should go on 5-15 min. before the actual alarm goes off and it should play something pleasant (maybe with increasing volume). Try to find your personal sleep duration. I can recommend an app if you like.

@@claire2278 It's 'sleepytime'. At the beginning it was really helpful. Since i know my personal sleep duration, i don't use it anymore.

Kayla you should watch Spider-Man, especially the Tom holland ones. I was never a superhero person but my boyfriend loves all things hero, and the movies are pretty good. Zendaya is amazing obviously. And the old ones with Tobey Maguire are worth watching too tbh (for nostalgia and hilarity). If you ever run out of things to watch you should go for it!!

The optimal manner to wake up at 5AM in order to begin a day will always be to take in time 1 tablespoon (15 ml) castor oil on an empty stomach. In this manner you will not only eliminate the waste in your intestines but all the toxins deposed in your liver too.
I do love the feeling of getting up super early and having my workout done first thing. I struggle with the night owl factor where I can't seem to get my butt to bed early enough even if I woke up super early hahah... guess if I did like you where I force myself for over a week it might actually change my habits. Hummmmm 🤔 motivating 😄 oh yeah ironically bought the exact same sun alarm 6 months ago... I have to say I just went back to snoozing with my phone ....😬
I just need a bed that catapults me out of it. That’s the only way I’ll actually get up!!

I don’t consider myself a morning person but my brain seems to think so. I wake up early even on weekends without an alarm. Most unfortunate. But, I do enjoy having my quiet time before the world start interfering

Same. I don't do more in a day when I wake up early, as I go to bed way earlier too. It's just a different shift for me, a shift that doesn't suit me 😂
I think latest I would go to bed is 10-10:30. I genuinely think more than 7hrs I’m more tired. Sometimes I feel insanely well rested with 4-5 hours! Probably not healthy tho lol
@@kayla.nelson Every person has their own sleep metabolism (couple of "how many hours is your sleep cycle" + "how many sleep cycles do you need per day to be rested"). If 4-5 hours are enough for you, that's great, more time to do stuff (or just rest). Especially with this new routine 🙂
I am one of the lucky few who genuinely need 6-7 cycles of 90 minutes, and let's be honest, I rarely have my required 10 hours a night 😖
