Oh my God that art is gorgeous. I like that the paper isn't glossy as well because it minimises the reflections from any room lighting. Hopefully they'll use it more on their books. Thanks for the overview Omar and have a great Christmas and new year.

Okay. You sold another one. Had no interest in this until I saw that gorgeous art. Just got my copy of House Of X/Powers of X yesterday and my copy of the Donny Cates Thanos hardcover should be here by the weekend. Currently reading the Immortal Hulk hardcover and just finished the Venom by Cates hardcover . Mr. Cates lives up to his reputation, I`ll be tracking down as much of his work as I can.

I find that the thicker matte paper provides a vastly superior reading experience. The glossy pages were a nightmare to read in daylight and artificial light due to the glare. I had to keep shifting the book to find the ideal angle to read it at.

I'm reading this right now. Snyder did a great job with Lex can't wait to finish this and hope we get 2 more volumes out of this.
The Aquaman issues add more detail. Including them would have made for a better story, though excluding them doesnt make the story unreadable
I'll have to jump on that collection.
The titans issue is also good, far from essential though, ive never read titans and I could enjoy it
While glossy paper would make the art look as if it were in HD, I really appreciate matte paper for diminishing as much light away from the book. Love looking back at your older videos to help me look at some great books that I missed during my hiatus, this is on my wishlist for sure.
I think we need an update of the JL reading order; after Book 1-2 of the deluxe edition, I have no idea where to continue as I want to keep everything in hardcover format :/
I love Francis Manapul, IDK how much of a popular opinion that is but i do love his artwork.
He is very much liked. He has a Flash omnibus.

Near Mint Condition my copy just showed up and haven’t read it yet, but thumbing through the art is great. I really like the matte paper too. It’s very “not stiff” so it lays over really nicely. Makes for an easy read/flip through. Kudos to the CGN shipping, very nicely packed!

The build of the book is great! I think I will have to upgrade my first two TPB’s of Snyder’s run for this Deluxe Edition! Thanks for the overview, I always enjoy these videos. BTW I think a Dark Nights Metal Omnibus would be fantastic and I would see No Justice being a part of that omni due to the fact that it is a direct aftermath from the fallout of Dark Nights Metal.

The Scott Snyder Justice League OSHC is one of the most colorful books I’ve seen in a while. I’m not familiar with these stories but it looks awesome!!!!
The art is gorgeous for sure.
I've bought the three Kindle/Comixilogy editions of this run.
Hardcovers would be great to have as well, but I'm still hoping for an omnibus edition if Scott Snyder's Dark Nights: Death Metal omnibus (which I also have) is really successful.
I received this in the same box as Superman Secret Origin by Geoff Johns. The Justice League book has 15 issues and the Superman has only 6, yet the Superman is considerably heavier. This is due to the cheap matte paper, which feels flimsy and newsprinty, despite its thickness. And the art looks flat and doesn't highlight at all. I think I'm done buying DC deluxe editions until I know whether they're using the matte or glossy paper stock. Which means your overviews will be the determining factor. Thanks Omar.

I've been meaning to get this. DC had really picked up their binding game and I think this and other new hardcovers like Sheriff of Babylon and Animal Man by Morrison are better bound (and have more content).
I really hope they continue that Animal Man run in OHC.
@@NearMintCondition Me too. I didn't think about that when I picked it up. I really like the quality of the existing one, and another volume would be much cheaper than the omnibus, which seems to be crazy expensive. Thanks for doing these videos, it really helps me think about what to get!

I did enjoy the story, but honestly compared to that Hytch JLA anything was better. Priest' run is solid too.

I always thought we got robbed of Scott doing a full run on justice League as James tynion th4 seem to write most of it. Which is great but I'd of like to see both of these do a run on there own

Do yourself a favor and skip Rebirth Justice League. Chris Priest, don't really know. This looks cool, No Justice was awesome. If you do want onder stuff, New52 JL is great, too.
I would at least read the two books Clayton said to. Metal mainly. Hoping they come through with Metal omnibus.

When we will find out if they are going to release a Deluxe Edition Part Two? I’m kind of new to trying to keep up with new releases, so I don’t know what the usually time frame is for releasing books like that.

I get that matte gives it more of that "comic book" feel.. Just am not a fan. The matte pages of Absolute Y: The Last Man is why I'll likely be selling it.
on a totally different topic, heard you talking about the unbeatable squirrel girl in another video, I'd tell you to give it a try. I didn't think it'd be for me, but heard so many good things about it I got vol 1 of the OHC. I loved it, and have orders in for vols 2 and 3. This coming from a 35 yr old male.
I will have to give Squirrel Girl a try. My daughter loves it. As far as paper, depends on the art. For art like this, I would have liked glossy.

I would include all the mini series, not really the "red skies" crossover events. But totally include Batman Who Laughs. At this point I don't know if they are going to keep doing it.

Hi Omar, Is this book new reader friendly? Folks are saying eventhough it is a volume 1, this book will be too confusing for someone who haven't read any prior books.
It’s new reader friendly. Snyder takes a stab at starting his own stories with this volume.

Yeah the trades actually added the Drowned Earth issues for the complete story. Good thing I collected the trades.
Or he could of pull in some other writers and call it a team effort. It's still great. I do get that DC does 2 a month which is stupid.

This book does contain more issues than the ones you are using as a comparison. One collects 8, the other collects 10, whereas the Scott Snyder hardcover collects 15.
Right, but when next to say Action by Jurgens, this is a lot thicker. But you are right, I should have held up a book with 17 issues in it.

Snyder's justice league, but it's the other Snyder, not the edgelord one.
I must be getting old because every JL story these days is just one universal threat after another. It seems that's all the writers know how to write anymore for the series. It was the same back in the day with the X-Men when it was one major mutant event after another which caused me to quit collecting for awhile. They really need to sprinkle some simple storylines that help balance out these universal end of days scenarios because they all tend to blend together. The art is great in the series though.
It's not just you, brother. It's like that. This is why I take a break and clense my pallete with manga or indie titles.
