    Nice review, it's good to see a reviewer ride this bike like it wants to be ridden - hard and fast!
    I love my 2023 Tuono Factory but mine does drink quite a lot of oil (about 100-200ml every 1,000 miles) which isn't great. I broke it in as per Aprilia's instructions (which took a lot of self discipline I must say, this bike just wants to play...) so I'm not sure why. I'm hoping the oil consumption will start to decrease over time.
    Another issue with mine is that the quickshifter occasionally cocks up a shift (I also use the quickshifter as per Aprilia's instructions). It doesn't happen too frequently but it does mean that I can't use it when overtaking as I can't take the risk of it cocking up mid overtake (it happened before). Aprilia are going to have a look at it when it goes in for its next service but it's one of those annoying ones where it happens infrequently enough that when they take it out for a test ride it probably wont happen.
    From watching reviews before I purchased the bike I knew that the quickshifter/gearbox weren't really strong points of the bike but my quickshifter seems to be worse than what the reviewers experienced.
    Fuel economy is a bit crap but I knew about that before I got the bike and I absolutely think that the fantastic sound (I upgraded to the Akra can and Aprilia race map - I 100% recommend this) and performance of this amazing v4 is easily worth the trade off against poor mpg.
    Other than these issues I absolutely love this bike, it is a stunning machine and every ride is so theatrical and visceral. I bought this bike purely for maximum run and, to be honest, I can't think of a more fun bike. The ride is also surprisingly comfortable with the plush and premium ohlins semi active suspension. It's very impressive that the handling performance is so good whilst the ride quality is so smooth and plush. In touring mode it feels like a magic carpet ride...

      Hi thanks, it is such a fun bike, surprisingly smooth but it does like to be ridden hard and carry a bit of momentum.
      On the oil consumption, 200ml for a 1,000 miles sounds pretty good (relatively speaking for these V4's) having topped mine up last week, I think mine is probably worse. I spoke to the dealership and they said it's perfectly normal for the v4... apparently the piston design is such that they burn a bit of oil (might be waffle, although I have heard that modern performance engines are designed to use more oil than older designs, something to do with reduced friction, bigger ring gap tolerance etc...). Apparently the modern Hondas, the cbr 1000 in particular, are known for something similar.
      It is a shame that you find the gearbox to be a little off, mine is like butter and the quickshifter is perfect every time, it is actually very crisp up and down (provided you are above 5k and are positive with the lever input). I do agree that it is not amazing on a partial throttle, although very few bikes are in my experience (but my mt09sp was awesome in this regard).
      I had the akra and race map (for about a week) it sounded great but was a tad loud for me.
      I rode the new mt10 the other week out of curiosity, it was a great bike but it just didn't leave the same impression as the Tuono.

      I too love my 2022 TV4 Factory.... HOWEVER, do yourself a favor and get the Gabro tune and make it the bike you really want.
      So much smoother in EVERY way.

    I hope they have addressed the oil burning issue with these bikes. My 2019 version burns a quart every 1500 miles. Sub par to say the least.

    • @tankslapmoto9999
      @tankslapmoto9999  2 года назад

      Mine is not as bad as that, but will definitely be keeping an eye on it, it used 600ml in 2800 miles but that's assuming the dealer filled it correctly at the 1st service (not everyone measures it dead level and dipstick screwed in). Also they recommend 5w50 for the 21 and up model whereas the 19 was 5w40 I believe (maybe the thicker oil helps). I do agree though that it is sub par

    Nice to see it being ridden with “ enthusiasm “ 😬👍
    What’s your experience with the fuel consumption? as I hear they’re a bit thirsty??
    Ridden like that, how many miles are on the tripmeter before the reserve light comes on?
    Also, do you fill it sat on the bike holding it upright to get the maximum in the tank, or do you fill it when it’s resting on the side stand ??
    Would be great to hear what it’s averaging over say 4 tankfuls, working it out yourself and not relying on the fuel readout on the dash as I’m told that’s a bare faced liar 🤥😂!
    Lovely bike, you enjoy 👍

      @tankslapmoto9999  2 года назад

      Thanks, it's nice to stretch its legs now and then😉👍 She is a bit thirsty for sure but not ridiculous, I normally see 90 -100 miles before the fuel light, 100 miles between stops is realistic without fuel anxiety setting in. I just fill it on the side stand, can't be messing around getting every last drop in😅

    Great review. Just ordered one and added the rad guards, akro, gel seat (i don’t like the red seat) brake guard for when on track and the Bluetooth adapter. Just have to wait 3 weeks. Any tips on running it in? Cheers.

      @tankslapmoto9999  2 года назад +2

      Cheers, I'm still in two minds about the red seat myself and definitely looking to put an Akra on (it'd be rude not to really). As far as running it in, I'd just say vary the revs, don't lug it below 3k in a high gear, let it rev to 8ish maybe 9ish here and there (dont be shy of putting a little bit of load on the engine to bed the rings in) and try not to let it get too hot when at a standstill (they run a littlel hot, especially when the engine is new and tight). Enjoy, its a weapon👍

    How does the 6 axis imu compare to the MT? Which works better do you think? Lift control, traction control etc

    • @tankslapmoto9999
      @tankslapmoto9999  2 года назад +1

      Both bikes have really good lean sensitive electronics, I'd say the MT just edges in terms of the traction control and the progressive way it will slide (the slide control being seperate from traction on the MT is a neat feature) although the Tuono is leagues ahead with the abs settings, less intrusive and you can disable the rear abs and rear anti lift👍

      Hi, yeah I have seen some of your videos👍the tuono is a great bike. I opened the exhaust valve and fitted a healtech eliminator (inspired by your videos) but I was getting some random error messages so decided to go back to stock, shame as it sounded awesome.

    • @DukeOfTwist
      @DukeOfTwist 2 года назад +1

      @@tankslapmoto9999 I've not had a single error, and I just spent last weekend hammering it on the Drag Strip both Drag Racing & Roll Racing. Have you had your software upgrade? Dealer normally does it at first Service.

    • @tankslapmoto9999
      @tankslapmoto9999  2 года назад

      It's a strange one, was fine for about 100 miles and then started throwing the "Urgent Service" warning randomly, no engine light but went into limp mode. It happened 3 or 4 times so I put it back to stock and it has been fine for over 1000 miles. I asked the dealer to check the ecu software at the first service and he confirmed it was the latest version. Maybe it is something to do with our fuel, I get the feeling it runs a little bit leaner with the valve open at lower rpm's. I am tempted to throw the race map on it with the stock exhaust and see if the richer fueling helps, but maybe I should just go the full hog and get the akropovic as well😃

      Hi cheers, yeah it's amazing how much tourque the Tuono has in the midrange and that it feels fast even at 7k (I think thats one of the things that makes the engine so special) but its a different animal altogether once you start getting into the higher rpm's, revs out like a superbike and starts to blur the scenery 😀

      Hey dude, no the 660 is actually my brothers bike which he still has. I spent a bunch of time riding his 660 which made me want the v4 version. I loved the MT09 but sold it in the end, the Tuonos are just so engaging to ride from a handling standpoint. It kinda feels like the best bits of a superbike meshed together with the best bits of a naked bike, if that makes any sense.
