Radishes make 100% sense! My grandfather was the Horseradish King (self proclaimed LOL!) No horseradish was ever "hot" enough for him. My mom bought every brand known to man, and he'd always complain. Every once in a while she'd find something "acceptable." After eating it, he'd growl at us kids jokingly and say, "Nothing clears the sinuses out like some good horseradish!" and he'd fake blow his nose, and all the kids would laugh. You said "radishes" and I immediately went back to that "clears the sinuses out." Hmmmm The old Horseradish King might have been onto something.

I have Mast Cell Activation Syndrome so I am very familiar with everything you mentioned. Because of the high risk of anaphylaxis, I cannot take anything over the counter as the chemicals in them cause me anaphylactic reactions. Thank you so much for sharing this home remedy. I wish I had this recipe two weeks ago! My hubby got out of the hospital last week and IMMEDIATELY started coughing and had stuffiness that just wouldn’t let him breathe! I went to the store and got all the ingredients. I included ginger and chose Meyer lemons. Boy, the produce section in our tiny town grocery store was really lacking! The regular lemons were tiny and hard as a rock! The radishes had greens that were wilted…I’m growing my own! Radishes not lemons!

How long will this recipe last if it is kept in a cool dark space? I've made the garlic and honey tincture and keep it in a quart jar in a dark cool closet. I used it when I had shingles on my leg .I took it orally and dabbed it on the areas where the sores were and I promuse you it tastes awful but it worked quickly. As for onions, my grandmother used to when she would get a bad cold , she would cut a very thick white onion and make a sandwich out of it.I asked her once, granny, why are you eating an onion sandwich? Her reply: well baby, I can't smell anything and I don't have any taste in my mouth and this hot onion is going to fix that.

I know the Lord led me to this, popped on my page and me and my son have been coughing and i believe its an upper respiratory infection, i had all the ingredients except the radishes, but i did have a old piece of ginger, so i blended it all in my vitamix and just used my mesh strainer and it actually taste good to me, the ginger was the perfect thing. God Bless you your family and your channel #Jesuslovesyall ♥

Hi Ruth Ann! Thanks for this syrup recipe. I wonder if you could freeze the syrup using those very small ice cube trays? It seems like it would still be effective; that way you could have a nice cold piece of frozen syrup to dissolve in your mouth. It would last longer too. You could make a big batch to see you and your family through the winter. What are your thoughts on this?
