- Water Changes:
A key part of aquarium maintenance is the water change, which should be performed about every two weeks. In most cases, 20-25% of the tank volume is sufficient. A good method is to replace the water extracted while vacuuming the gravel, which will eliminate uneaten foods and other residues that settle on the substrate.
I have a water filter in the basement. The water has drinking quality.
The following materials were used:
Garden water hose
Twin-Tap Connector
Hose Repairer connector
2x Quick Hose Connectors - WATER STOP
Gravel cleaner- Buy or build yourself:
• Aquarium gravel cleane... - Животные
How do you keep track of how much water you're changing at a time?
Why not just buy a waterbed valve?
solar clapson maybe because he doesn't want the dirt in his sink?
Yea i could never do it that way.. I just drain out a door when im using the vac then 4, 5g buckets of water with prime.. my w/c takes me 10 mins a week..
Need help. I did a similar build but water is not siphoning. Could the problem be the length of the water hose. I have a 50ft and 100ft. The 50ft is a water hose and the 100ft is one of those store bought siphon. And I put the double shut off valve on the sink but did not use all the quick connect you did. I get water coming out of both but can not get it to siphon. And oh I broke down the store bought one to just the hose and gravel cleaner when I tried it. Help please????
Hi have you ever seen an increase in KH, GH, or PH in your aquarium? I always thought that the water from the warm faucet is more alkaline due to the limescale deposit in the boiler
wow this totally beats spending $60 on a python. im am going to try and avoid the hoses. maybe a 3o min trip to home depot and I can pull it off with tubing
Excellent video . What's the name of the faucet to splitter adapter called ?
+Haitham Mohamed

very good to put bacteria in public water!
bacteria in public water? you yourself put bacteria in public water every day - out of your own body. the fish live in a symbiotic relationship with this bacteria, in the wild and in the aquarium. public water also comes from natural rivers....which have bacteria! If you ever walk barefoot in a stream on slippery slimy rocks, that slime is bacteria. you do know there is good and bad bacteria right? your body is chock-ful of good bacteria. along with a very bad kind called e-coli. it's naturally living in your colon right now.
totally forbidden by the law!
What you say is absolutely ridiculous,
By connecting the aquarium hose to the faucet you bring up deadly bacteria in your city's chlorinated water system; Speak with your water supplier you will see well
We are talking about going up in the DRINKING and running water pipes of your city not your wc to which your head looks dark idiot
How can that water go back in the pipes for enough to get back into the main lines? you realize there is pressure to prevent contaminated water backwash. Or else any psycho can dump poison in a faucet and hurt a lot of people.
