I know his passing will hit Jimmy Page especially hard because they started out together so long ago and Jeff was so youthful in his energy and appearance it is a very rude awakening regarding how short our lives really are even though he lived to be 78 it's hard to believe he's gone.. this will take a really long time to process I grew up with his music and there really was nobody like him. He was truly one of a kind. R.I.P.

Jeff Beck's and Jimmy Pages friendship was a rough ride. In the 70s they famously hated each other for awhile. I remember Jeff Beck in an interview saying that he thought Jimmy Page never took Led Zepplin to where it could go or something like that. Not unusuall for lifelong friends to have a falling out. Restoed relationships can be the toughest to lose.

They started out together all right. I read that Page turned down the offer to replace Clapton in the Yardbirds and recommended Beck. He was happy as a session player at the time. Then he tired of it and saw possibilities.

You are a lucky man that your father had such good taste in music. I'm 58 years old and I've been listening to these bands as well, along with the likes of The Doors, Grateful Dead, Rolling Stones and quite a few more. You mentioned a big age difference, which I don't know how much it could be, buth I wish that you will be able to listen to the music of these excellent bands for a long time.

I ran out and purchased all his records after that concert. It’s an immeasurable lose to the guitar world. What a drag.💔
