Just a update, the S5 had a firmware update 1month ago and got the S6 features as rooms and faster navigation. Still the Best vacuum robot on the market for me...
Running for 4 years now, 5x times a week. Had to replace a battery, then got the dreaded E13 unable to charge, but replaced the PTC fuse and is now working great again like new.
What about the S5 Max? Supposedly improves on the mopping function. It's only sold in Europe though and not available in the US yet. I called the company and they couldn't give me a release date.
I got the S5 MAX a couple of days ago. Seems really solid and comparable to the S5. Updated app, no mopping zones and a larger water tank / dustbin makes it a better deal imo. I'm surprised that there isn't a review of the S5 max on the channel and that the channel didn't aquire a demo unit from Roborock. But I have to agree, i'm more surprised that the S5 MAX wasn't discussed and compared in this video.

@@BitCuration Yes that is the main point of the S5 Max, the improved mop with the no-mop zone software. You can actually do a no-mop zone on the S6 (although I never tried since I don't mop) by putting no go zones on the carpets and then just use that specific map while you mop (the S6 can store up to 3 maps). I also own the 950 but I don't like it all. It emphasises too much data from its bumper ignoring its laser and IR scanner hence way too rough with the home. You can see that in the two 15 second clips below. Ozmo 950 bump test 1 ruclips.net/video/BSdozyMpCv0/видео.html vs Roborock S6 bump test 1 ruclips.net/video/g7ku5EY4cO4/видео.html It sometimes also uses the same cleaning path hence re-cleaning what it already cleaned. It sometimes also acts lost and needed 5 restarts on my shag carpet. By all means I would go with the S6 or S5 Max.
Eagle Striker The S5 doesn’t store more than 1 map, I have this vacuum and you have to redraw the Nogo lines every time you want to use the mopping feature and then delete them when you want to go back to vacuum mode again. Perhaps you are thinking about one of the newer versions?
I love my S5. A month ago I bought the S4, S5, Shark IQ, and the iRobot S9 plus. I wanted to see for myself which one I liked better. S9 plus worked great but no vacuum is with $1500 (with tax). Shark IQ could be #1 if they fix the software, LOVED the S4 but it had trouble climbing a threshold, LOVE the S5 so that’s the one I kept.. Dust bin is a little small but with my cat and vacuuming twice a day I still only empty it when I remember which is maybe every 5 days or so. The suction is strong so it compacts the cat hair
Just bought the Shark IQ and I can confirm. The auto empty is amazing and basically the same cost. Just the software is not great. I’ve been running it for weeks and still hasn’t finished mapping my house.
I bought a refurbished S5 I found online and I think even in 2020 it is an outstanding value. I cannot imagine the amount of engineering went into making this device. It is so precise and so intelligent and picks up so well. I have quite literally half carpet half hardwood and it's just great. Just fyi: a firmware update allows the regular S5 to get both room select and multifloor houses. I have yet to test mopping but was one of the reasons I chose it over the S4 for the price and I plan to do a mop test tonight. Thanks vacuumwars for your outstanding videos. When people come over they're like "nice Roomba" and I'm like "this is a Roborock, not a Roomba lol"... I've converted many friends to Roborock fans because it is just such a futuristic way in how it works and navigates. It is far superior to dumb bouncing robovacs and even my friend who has a roomba with a camera in it was very impressed by how quickly it navigates a d how well it works on both hard floors and carpet. Can't say enough about it.
We love this vacuum🌼 We have hardwood and carpet with 2 dogs. It does a great job on both. The mop option due a good job as well. I love being able to run it no matter where I am.
Nearly bought the S4. During reviews, I learned that it struggles on medium/high tile carpet. We have lots of medium tile, so I went to the S5 which seems to work fine. Just an FYI for those considering between the two..
@ vacuumwars kogan are selling there Kogan R50 i looked at the manual and seems identical to the roborock S50. Any chance you can shed some slight on that as the R50 sells for $120au less then the S50
PLEASE look into the NEW S5 firmware update!! It makes it just as smart as the S6 and transformed it into an even more efficient cleaning machine. It now goes in straight lines all the way across the room instead of cleaning in squares, and added the ability to clean by rooms.
i'll have it now for a bit more than a year, it worked for more than 60hours, cleaned and more than 3200m2 the battery life is still great, Full cleanup consists of 2 levels, downstairs for aprox 701m2, clean the dustbag, bring it upstair where it also cleans additional 85m2 without recharging. after that the battery is still on 30-40% Usually use it for complete downstairs sweep and smaller jobs upstairs. i was considering buying a second one for upstairs but i just bring it upstairs, start it and that's it. The software is still updated by xiami, just had a firmware update on it.
The s5 has been my first robot vacuum and I have been very happy with it as well as impressed on how well it does clean. I have mine setup with my hass.io home automation system, to be able to do zone cleaning as well as a Mopping route. Outside of an auto empty base, it does everything that I need. Great machine!
I love mine, I can't live without it! I use it every day and the amount of dirt it collects every day it's incredible. It's the best vacuum of all market by miles
@@JulianaAgra I clean my house twice per month, but the amount of dust and hair this vacuum collects help me a lot, instead I will have to clean myself at least 1 per week or even more if I wanted everything clean.
@@aliquewilliams3080 I have 2 cats that shed fur everywhere and flick litter over the floor. I get my S5 to clean the entire place every day and I only empty it every few days, even then it's only ever been about ¼ full.
After using one year plus, the battery cannot charge and after hard reset! The battery can charge but after one/two days. Again, the app software cannot connect to the device and the battery cannot charge! Despite after changing the mother board, battery, charging unit! Headache since spending more than two hundreds dollars still cannot function properly. A let down product!
I’ve had mine for 8 months. It has worked perfectly until yesterday. I got a 106 error - left wheel open circuit. It will go for a few minutes, then stop and present this error. I tried to clean the left wheel to no avail. Now I’ve ordered a new wheel. Hope it solves the problem. It’s still under warranty but I didn’t want to bother with the RMA-process.
Just a quick update. I replaced the wheel and that fixed the problem. A wheel was about $40. I’m very happy with it. It’s really smart and adapts quickly to changing surroundings. I sometime look at it go and smile in astonishment at how it gets around obstacles - “how the hell did you figure out you could that way”? 😄 It’s the first piece of electronic I have had that actually feels intelligent.
I have owned my s5 for two and a half years now, only a few issues have occurred. The support is almost non existent, and it can be hard to get the original beater brushes ( The generic brushes hairs are cut too long) you will get a code thrown in the longer pile carpets until The new brush has wore down some. Other than that, its one of the best buys that I have ever made. Do not wash the filters they will wear out quickly if you do, Just tap the filters clean and they will last a very long time.
@@fazeelakassim1015 Yes, works well with very little issues. I just got a second vac, the s5 max. One for upstairs and one for down. They both work great.
Awesome, electronics fail rate is also subjective to use, enviromental influence, defectove components etc etc. So a sample size of 1/1 is not a complete picture of the fail rate of a product.
I just received my Roborock S5 and really happy with it so far. But I have one problem and that is my big black Carpet. I have read about it on the web and found out there is atm no solution for it to clean the carpets without tampering with the cliff sensors. I have a really great idea that maybe you can help me push out to the community so the developers at Xiaomi will get to work and update the software with this feature. I want them to add to the software a "Trusted location" that will override the cliff sensors and force the Roborock on to that area. Like we have the possibility to add a NoGo Zone. Maybe it is a good thing for you to include in future testing aswell. The response I got from the Team at Xiaomi was that i "IR" sensors need light to bounce back to the sensors and black carpets may trigger the cliff sensors do to no light bouncing back. And thx a lot for really good reviews and tests. Thx to you I decided to go for the S5 :)
After a bit under 2 years of daily use I got the "Error 1" Lidar motor problem. I have it on service now, but I also see that it is probably within my capability to fix.
How does s5 behave when you move the furniture a bit? Does it get confused and maps everything again or it can adapt? I read a comment or two stating Neato starts mapping everything again and can get lost. Thank you.
It just adjusts it's paths. I am constantly moving my furnitures (poufs, chairs, tables) and S55 is just updating the map (adding some gray blocks on it). And it's never stuck. I own it for about year now. Love it.
Hi, will be some tests of 360 S6 in comparing with the Roborock S5? Or 360 S5/6/7 series review? you haven't them even on your vacuum list. I want to know your option.
Got myself the S4 (which apparently is an Amazon exclusive?) since I don't need the mopping feature. Upgraded from an iLife V7s and I couldn't be happier with it!
I just go a S50, it worked perfectly first two days but now it won't finish cleaning the house and keep returning to its base. Very frustrating, any idea?
I tried the s4, could not get it to work on regular, medium pile carpet. Got stuck, got lost, drained all it's battery and never finished cleaning. This is a brand new 2020 model with latest firmware. The s5 on the other hand, did fine. I gotta say I'm more impressed with the s5, I think the s4 is ONLY if you have no carpet or LOW pile carpet only.
I'm still trying to decide which robo vacuum is best for long human hair & what feels like lbs of cat hair buried deep in cheap (apartment building) carpet.
For those interested be careful that this is actually the Roborock S5 v2 (you can tell the difference by looking at the buttons, the v1 has 1 large "eye" while this one as 3 buttons visible). He says it about then end of the video but one not knowing the market could get it wrong or miss it.
I am contemplating throwing my Roomba S9 in the trash and getting this one. The S9 has trash navigation, keeps going crazy and has had a ton of issues in the past year for me.
Mine did not want to carry more, was always at 20%. But I changed the motherboard and went back to work again smoothly. The water tank is fragile and over time begins to leak.
I’ve had mine for over a year. The only thing I don’t like about my S5 is over time it really seems to have trouble picking up fuzzies, think like from socks, on carpet. It just completely misses it. It continues to be great on hardwood though.
I bought this on Black Friday 2019. Overall it works great. One complaint I have is that it gets stuck on shaggy bathroom rugs and confused on multicolor living room rugs. My living room rug is dark brown mixed with very light brown and the vacuum gets confused then gets stuck. I called the manufacturer and they suggested that I put white tape over the cliff sensors. I did but nothing improved so I made all rugs no go zones as the vacuum always gets stuck on them.
Really happy with my unit 10 months in. I also have medium to short carpet. Issues are the following . setup involving WiFi or server issues..I pray I never have to set this up again. I’ve had to set it up twice over the last 10 months and each time takes 20-40 min messing with routers and international servers. The vacuum picks up a lot of hair and dust on carpet so I have to zone clean one room at a time to make sure it is properly cleaning the entire household. The “feeling” of the Vacuumed carpet is a “rougher”feeling vs using my normal traditional vacuum cleaner...but the convenience factor makes up for it. If guests are coming over I’ll break out the traditional vacuum to get that softer carpet feeling in high traffic areas. Sometimes the vacuum is glitchy when using the zone cleaning function. For example I’ll start a zone clean, and it will “finish” 1 minute later. I’ll have to start a full household clean, pause task, then start a zone clean again which corrects the issue. Also better app/Alexa support so I could just say “clean kitchen” instead of opening the app and setting zones. In the end, I’m still really satisfied...we had a baby this past year so this has been extremely helpful to help us keep the house clean!
Which would be your choice if you could buy the Roborock S5 for $360 or the Neato D7 for $399? I currently have the S5 and a D7 will be here tomorrow for me to compare them.
I have mine 3 years now. I had to mold a very cheap part on the mainboard due to error 13 charging error, and now have error 14 as battery is failing / temperature too high. well functionality is great, time to invest is really a no go. maximum a semi good product and from time to time really annoying.
I use mine since a year, love it but there is one thing I absolutely hate. If there is a problem with xiaomi's servers or my internet is down the vacuum is unusable. It's a always on device. I tried starting it manually but it only allowed spot cleanup when offline. If it isn't anymore supported you can throw it away even it still works perfectly. Even 3rd party apps require at least one time to log into your xiaomi account.
I just purchased an S5 based on all of the positive reviews. It works really well on hard floors and low pile carpet, but it does not like medium plush at all. It spins around in circles a lot, gets confused, and seems to go on a random cleaning pattern. I don't know if it is the type of carpet or the color (dark brown) that is giving it fits. It also is having problems mapping my house. I think it will be going back, just don't know what vac to replace it with.
@@noybiznatch yes i was going to but old S5, but got a discount coupon for max S5 so the price difference was less that $100. So i decided to got hat way.
@@learnlaw1363 AFAIK it has upgraded processor, mop only zones boundaries, room identification, better navigation (goes in longer straight lines before turning back to complete a rectangle) and better water control for mopping. The dust bin a little smaller.
Hi. I have 2 floors (I mean groundlevel and 1e floor). How should I do this? Take the load-station to the 1st floor and plug it in there and let him clean there or leave the loading on the groundlevel floor and only take the robot to the 1st floor ? Also, our ground level is relatively large. Create 2 zones or just keep all the ground level as 1 zone ?
also, i noticed that the toogles for cleaning the corners and cleaning twice has to be always checked when needed. if you mark then ON and move out of the screen and come back, sometimes it wont stay on, or it will take forever to turn ON. it is like there is a dealy on the app for marking the options.
Have you thought of doing a test of the rainbow vacuum vs other canister vacuums? I’ve been hearing of more people using them in the last couple of years. I’ve always wanted to know if they were worth their money? I’d also like to see a review of the Riccar 40 series premium. That would be awesome against the modern style vacuums. Thanks for the vids!
after 10 months of usage, here are the cons: -dustbin is small -getting tech support is tricky Did you try to contact the tech support to ask for bigger dustbin or are you not telling something to your viewers? And lol, comparing Xiaomi to Apple.. This is definitely paid review.
I have mine for over a year now, and I was extremely happy with it. But Now every hour or so it will say Error Dustbin removed, Dustbin installed. So that is extremely annoying and I can't get it fixed around where I live.
@@arevee9429 Yup Yup. I didn't know about this Facebook group, so I'll be going on to see if it can be fixed. For sure its something with the sensor. Hopefully an easy fix.
@@fazeelakassim1015 Yes actually. My problem was the HEPA filter on the dust bin. I had a couple of HEPA filters on hand and 1 or 2 would cause the dust bin to keep giving an Error. Not sure why, but that was the solution, to use change the HEPA filters. So some HEPA filter you will buy will simply not work, so buy a handful of them from different suppliers. What Roborock I would recommend. Well, we are in mid of 2021 so the cheapest/ best value for money would be S5Max and not the S5 because the Moping is still not that great on all robot vacuums. But the S5Max is far better than most. However, keep in mind that you will keep the vacuum for 2 to 4 years, so I would get S7 or wait for the soon-to-be release T7S Plus because down the line I can upgrade to get the Auto-Self-Emptying Dust bin Dock, which would make a world of a difference. All roborock models below/older than the S7 will not work with the Self-Emptying Dock.
The only downside for me is that sometimes the map just disappear, and I cannot use it on a different floor without losing the map, the map saving function is still in beta I wonder if it will not be in beta anymore someday
@@c4rysa1is You can use it on different floor but it needs to rescan the map everytime, so you can't save the no-go zones and virtual walls, or select a zone to clean. but it scans very fast so once it goes around the room the map is ready, but it would be nice to have different maps saved for each floor
They've updated the mapping feature on this unit now, and you can set rooms. They also moved the mopping feature to the front of the app, making it easier to set. It doesn't 100% replace my vacuum, but it sure makes my daily life easier.
I got one of these and absolutely loved the excellent pathing. However, the huge deal breaker for me was that most of my house is medium pile carpet, and unfortunately the S5 would get stuck every 5-15 minutes with an error, which required manually restarting it. There was nothing in the main brush, and it seemed like it was just not meant at all for medium pile carpet. Which is super unfortunate since i loved everything else about this vacuum. I looked online and a good number of others had experienced this exact thing.I even tried different work-arounds, like clipping the brush a bit. Nothing worked! So I settled for a Coredy. Not super smart in pathing, but at least it doesn't jam on the medium carpet!
I have been using for 2 years cleaning my house on a daily basis and i haven't had any problem with it. It has vacuumed more than 25 km2 in total, and it's like the first day. I only have changed the filter, but the side and main brush are still the original ones, they have finished their lifetime and recommended me to change them for 3 times, but they are working like the first day. The only maintenance i do is empty the trash bin every week, and clean the charging contacts when it doesn't charge because they are dirty, when i clean the contacts i also clean the sensors.
@@user-pf5xq3lq8i I have tiles on the entire floor of my house, i have 2 small superficial carpets. BTW xiaomi has updated the firmware for the S5 and now it has the same app interface than the S6 with rooms.

After 5 months the long distance sensor stopped working I sent it back and got my money back. They haven't even tried to repair it. Now I have an Ozmo 950.
Mine too. After that I bought the 950 too. And the s5 is a bit smarter with obstacles but if you use the no go zone options or virtual wall, it works perfectly. Its quiter and a little bit faster.

Thanks again! I was about to purchase S5 after your previous complete review/comparison. Now, I'm positive it's the best deal. $360 on amazon:)
We love this vacuum🌼 We have hardwood and carpet with 2 dogs. It does a great job on both. The mop option due a good job as well. I love being able to run it no matter where I am.
how do you find the in app experience? is there any minor glitches or issues to connect to the app? does it still work as it does?
I actually use the moping all the rime. The s5 is just amazing.
I take it you mean mopping. I am imagining the robocleaner pushing dirt around in circles on low energy.
Nearly bought the S4. During reviews, I learned that it struggles on medium/high tile carpet. We have lots of medium tile, so I went to the S5 which seems to work fine. Just an FYI for those considering between the two..
I have the S5 for about an year and half and so far so good, I love it with a baby and 2 dogs
I feel like the S6 is redundant now that the S5 max has better mop, software features and is cheaper.
Yeah, and I don't like how they down tuned the suction power in the S6. When my 600 series irobo vac dies, I'm going for S5 max.
I watched every videos you made and I just want to say thank you for all that clear informations !!
I'm gonna definitly buy it for Christmas !
I’m buying it this Christmas! How was it?
@ vacuumwars kogan are selling there Kogan R50 i looked at the manual and seems identical to the roborock S50. Any chance you can shed some slight on that as the R50 sells for $120au less then the S50
PLEASE look into the NEW S5 firmware update!! It makes it just as smart as the S6 and transformed it into an even more efficient cleaning machine. It now goes in straight lines all the way across the room instead of cleaning in squares, and added the ability to clean by rooms.
i'll have it now for a bit more than a year,
it worked for more than 60hours, cleaned and more than 3200m2
the battery life is still great,
Full cleanup consists of 2 levels, downstairs for aprox 701m2, clean the dustbag, bring it upstair where it also cleans additional 85m2 without recharging. after that the battery is still on 30-40%
Usually use it for complete downstairs sweep and smaller jobs upstairs.
i was considering buying a second one for upstairs but i just bring it upstairs, start it and that's it.
The software is still updated by xiami, just had a firmware update on it.
If you could do a review of the S5 Max , it would be great. Btw this is the best channel about robot vacuums ! Cheers!
2024, still using my S5 daily. It's just an excellent vaccuum.
Glad to hear it!
The s5 has been my first robot vacuum and I have been very happy with it as well as impressed on how well it does clean. I have mine setup with my hass.io home automation system, to be able to do zone cleaning as well as a Mopping route. Outside of an auto empty base, it does everything that I need. Great machine!
I have seen multiple videos re errors after software updates ? Too much money of it doesn’t work.
I love mine, I can't live without it! I use it every day and the amount of dirt it collects every day it's incredible. It's the best vacuum of all market by miles
I am planning on buying one. Tell me, how often do you have to clean the house yourself?
@@JulianaAgra I clean my house twice per month, but the amount of dust and hair this vacuum collects help me a lot, instead I will have to clean myself at least 1 per week or even more if I wanted everything clean.
I'm holding out for the Roborock with a Cleanbase.
The cleanable isn't as necessary as people are making it seem. The bin in the roborock can last easily over a week.
@@aliquewilliams3080 I have 2 cats that shed fur everywhere and flick litter over the floor. I get my S5 to clean the entire place every day and I only empty it every few days, even then it's only ever been about ¼ full.
Alique Williams because it dosnt pick up anything well
Samuel Bomorse my neato is always full s5 hardly picks up anything
After using one year plus, the battery cannot charge and after hard reset! The battery can charge but after one/two days. Again, the app software cannot connect to the device and the battery cannot charge! Despite after changing the mother board, battery, charging unit! Headache since spending more than two hundreds dollars still cannot function properly. A let down product!
Anyone in here willing to share his experiences with the RoboRock S5 Max after 12months+ ?
I’ve had mine for 8 months. It has worked perfectly until yesterday. I got a 106 error - left wheel open circuit. It will go for a few minutes, then stop and present this error. I tried to clean the left wheel to no avail. Now I’ve ordered a new wheel. Hope it solves the problem.
It’s still under warranty but I didn’t want to bother with the RMA-process.
This is why I always recommend going with irobot, their reliability is unmatched.
It’s the first piece of electronic I have had that actually feels intelligent.
Hello. Another year later would you still recommend your roborock s5? Thank you
@@fazeelakassim1015 Yes, works well with very little issues. I just got a second vac, the s5 max. One for upstairs and one for down. They both work great.
@@mrwilly41 thank you so much!
Well we have one, we had no problems at all till this day 11.2019 - 01.2021
Awesome, electronics fail rate is also subjective to use, enviromental influence, defectove components etc etc. So a sample size of 1/1 is not a complete picture of the fail rate of a product.
S5 or S5 max?
What percentage is your convertion ratio?
Thank you for your reviews. I recently purchased the s6 pure because of these reviews, and it's honestly amazing!!
After some years of use it becomes really, really noisy. Like all robots.
Not sure if this helps.. If all your house is a safe area, I'd try to cover the cliff sensors and check the behavior.
How about S5 max?
I love your style and your approach to product reviews! Subbed! Also you have got to have the cleanest house on youtube!
the s5 will get the s6 room feature. its in closed beta testing right now
Really? Like user beta test or their exclusive beta testing?
6 weeks ago they where looking for users for their closed beta. And the closed beta is running right now
@@Mansenmania sweet! Dis gon be gud. Cheers man for the good news
You can even download the beta Firmware with the android app flolevac to your s5
Mine has the beta room feature, I love it. Absolute game changer
After a bit under 2 years of daily use I got the "Error 1" Lidar motor problem. I have it on service now, but I also see that it is probably within my capability to fix.
I hope it works out for you!
Love it.
@@ac3ZOrr Great, thank you! :)
Hi, will be some tests of 360 S6 in comparing with the Roborock S5? Or 360 S5/6/7 series review? you haven't them even on your vacuum list. I want to know your option.
After 10 months my Roborock S5 stopped working. The spinning eye scanner just stopped spinning out of of the blue.
Still using the S5 mid 2024
For those interested be careful that this is actually the Roborock S5 v2 (you can tell the difference by looking at the buttons, the v1 has 1 large "eye" while this one as 3 buttons visible). He says it about then end of the video but one not knowing the market could get it wrong or miss it.
do you think there is any difference between the S4 and S5 on a medium-ish carpet (looks about like the lower middle one in your video)?
Waiting for the s5max.
I think it will be going back, just don't know what vac to replace it with.
wow that's a clean S5, mine's dirrrrrrty. It works hard.
Wow! Fan fact in Russia we have the same vacuums, but the different names. Really surprising
Any thoughts on S5 Max. I bought it yesterday. it will arrive in week.
Where'd you buy it from, Gearbest site?
@@noybiznatch yes i was going to but old S5, but got a discount coupon for max S5 so the price difference was less that $100. So i decided to got hat way.

What’s the difference between S5 Max and the normal one?
Can we put / mix liquid cleaning solution into the water tank?
also, i noticed that the toogles for cleaning the corners and cleaning twice has to be always checked when needed. if you mark then ON and move out of the screen and come back, sometimes it wont stay on, or it will take forever to turn ON. it is like there is a dealy on the app for marking the options.
Thanks for the vids!
absolutely. i have a rainbow for 10 years now. the best acquisition i made.
after 10 months of usage, here are the cons:
-dustbin is small
-getting tech support is tricky
Did you try to contact the tech support to ask for bigger dustbin or are you not telling something to your viewers? And lol, comparing Xiaomi to Apple.. This is definitely paid review.
I have mine for over a year now, and I was extremely happy with it. But Now every hour or so it will say Error Dustbin removed, Dustbin installed. So that is extremely annoying and I can't get it fixed around where I live.
Give it a good cleaning. Maybe a sensor is dirty. Or consider looking at that Facebook group he mentioned.
@@arevee9429 Yup Yup. I didn't know about this Facebook group, so I'll be going on to see if it can be fixed. For sure its something with the sensor. Hopefully an easy fix.
Hello. Another year later would you still recommend your roborock s5? Was the error resolved. Thank you
@@fazeelakassim1015 Yes actually.
@@moshumzy thanks for the advice. Will definitely keep it in mind
The only downside for me is that sometimes the map just disappear, and I cannot use it on a different floor without losing the map, the map saving function is still in beta I wonder if it will not be in beta anymore someday
you mean, it doesnt have an option to map 2 floors?
I have 3 floors in my house and Iam just tihnking abouy buiying this robot.
Dude your channel is so amazing!!! You do so well. Bravo
Unfortunately the laser on ours died within a year and only had a 30 day warranty. Bad choice.
Wood,carpet,mix?

I'm thinking of getting my mother one of these for Christmas. The problem is that she REFUSES to get a smartphone. My father has a Kindle Fire. Does the app work on that? I can't find an answer on the internet.

Roborock S5 max.... What is the life of its parts, the brush bristles... The mop cloth? .. the battery cycles...
Basically what is the life span of this robot, & parts replacement cost...
Have had my S5 for just over a year and is just great does what needs to be done, just started using the mop and it does the same no complaints, I had a My Genie VX1000 and that was ok as an intro to robots with the same type of mop, but had no resume feature, but alas it only takes about 45 minutes to do my place with S5, and the new software update makes thing really easy.
Thank You Vacuum Wars for a terrific recommendation. 😁

very informative :) keep up !
Thank you!
HI had my S5 for 10 months, cleans +- 130M2 daily (when she completes and is not getting snagged on hair ties and kids socks), I have to clean the bin daily and she needs to recharge at least once in a clean (on medium, it is a large house, only about 20M2 is carpet the rest is tile and laminate wood), I have two indoor dogs, three cats and two kids. Best money I have spent though. To Clarify before anyone gets excited, she is a she as her name is Shauna and her boyfriend is the robo mower (he came with the house another best thing since sliced cheese) whos name is Sean.....Sean the sheep. This is my 1st Robo Vacum so can't compare others I would recommend the radar guided robos, feels more efficient and it appeals to my brain the patterns etc. I have only used the mop once.
Can you please test the Viomi V2? I would like to see how it fares with the competition.. 😁
Hello to all. There has been a major problem for me. After an update my roborock s5 stopped the recharge and continue module. It turns off all of a sudden and when I get the s5 back to the charger the battery is at 0%. Is this happening to your s5 plz?. I also saw that is the roborock site the S5 does not support that feature. Can we find a work around to that?? Thank you.
We love our s50. Only issue we have had is the laser motor problem which you mentioned. We used a 9v battery to jump start it (video on how to do this is on RUclips). Replacement laser motor is only $17 Australian dollars if i ever dies and I need to replace it. Agree with everything you have said in this video. It is so good we are looking at buying another one for a guest house.
S6 owner here, I was going to buy the S5 based off your review, and decided to buy it right when the S6 came out, since it was a birthday gift to myself I decided to buy the S6 over the S5, and have now been using it for about 6 months, honestly I have no issues with it, I love it! Thanks for your reviews of these products they're really helpful.
