      It depends on what you are looking for, both clean well. The 950 has the carpet avoidance and longer battery life, where as the S5 Max has the better navigation. You can’t go wrong with either!!

    Hi.
    I have Roborock s5 MAX.
    Water seems to be leaking from the water tank.
    I try to look for replacements for the water tank filters, but so far I only see parts for S5, not S5 Max. Are they compatible?
    I can't change the filter. Can you show how? They seem to be different than other models.
    Thank you.

    Another great video Nathan. From the app screen shots as 12:21 and 12:45 I assume all of your mopping test was done with water flow set to low?
    For a mixed run on a hard floor that has rugs on it is it possible (and would it work) to define the rugs as a different rooms or named areas then have the s5 max vacuum all the rug areas first then go onto the hard floors to mop all of that? If that’s possible I assume that’s the optimal order since by doing the rugs before any mopping has started it isn’t dragging a dirty and, even though the water would be set to off probably still damp mopping pad across the rugs. Presumably it would still drag the fresh-off-the-dock and bone dry mopping pad across the rugs but is there little enough friction there that it doesn’t interfere with doing a decent vacuum job.
    I have a lot of research to do still but I’m thinking that my previous plan of something like a roomba i7+ plus an m6 might not be the way to go and maybe a single robot like the s5 max can do my hard floor and rugs downstairs and I can carry it upstairs to do my all-carpeted bedrooms.
    One other thing I would like it to be able to do is to carry it out onto my tiled balcony to clean that. I didn’t see any mention of the s5 max having a really aggressive back and forwards or even y-pattern mopping mode. I assume that’s because there isn’t one. How do you think it would handle some really yucky mopping like a garage or outside patio or balcony area vs the mopping robots that do have those more aggressive cleaning pattern?
    Questions, questions! 😀

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  4 года назад

      Those are some good questions 🤔. Ok so the Roborock does have an option to allow the user to create No Mopping areas with the Aop. Unfortunately you can not label them specifically like you can with Rooms. You can’t create an room if it doesn’t expand the entire length wall to wall. With that said you would need to physically remove the mopping module to Vacuum the Carpet than put the mopping module on to do the hardwood floors. Also dragging the mopping pad across the carpeted area makes the robot harder to maneuver. Check out this mopping robot ruclips.net/video/ol7hafWcWL8/видео.html, the robot has the ability to do what you described. Anyways that robot is more of a concept but in a year or so the robot will have this ability. For the harder stains the Braava m6 is the best since, so I think getting a i7 and Combo the best option right now.

    Do you think it is a good idea to buy roborock s6 and roborock s5 max at the same time so that you vacuum and mop everything at once in a automatic way?

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  4 года назад

      The S5 Max can Mop and Vacuum simultaneously so you wouldn't need to have two robots. I would say if you want more control of the water flow and Vacuum power the S5 Max the better option. The S6 is a little more expensive but is slightly quieter, has a larger dock that allows the cable to be wrapped around.

    Hi Nathan, love your videos! I just got an S5 Max from Gearbest (wish I used your coupon, but I did get it on sale) and we have soft medium-pile carpet. On the carpet, the side brush drags behind, twists, and gets tangled. Would the old style bristle side brush be better on soft carpet? Should I just remove the side brush when vacuuming my carpet? The robot works great on our tile.

    • @RobotMasters
      @RobotMasters  4 года назад +1

      I would recommend leaving the new side brush on, because the new one is softer but designed to last longer. Also the newer models side brush motors are very sensitive to any load on the motor so it may stop the motor since the old side brush is stiffer and running on carpet. It worth a try though, but I would keep the side brush on to prevent the exposed shaft getting tangled up or damaged.

      Ok I just reinstalled the Roborock App on my other smartphone so I can do a quick comparison of the two. In a Nut Shell both Apps have the same Pairing Process, graphics are slightly different amount the two. Keep in mind the Roborock App only allows the Roborock Vacuums to pair up not other Mi home products such as fans and security camera, something the MI Home App allows. The Layout is both are basically the same across both Apps except for the minor graphics changes. I did quickly run through all the features the robot has and both Mi Home and Roborock App offers the same features. So if you just want to pair the Roborock Vacuum and no other Mi Home products than the Roborock or Mi Home will work. The Mi Home allows you to pair other devices. Hope this helps and sorry for the confusion on my last comment.

    *I run the m6 daily, and my floors look awesome🌼 **allabout.wiki/BoostIQ** I wet mop 2 days and dry sweep the rest of the days. When I first got it, I used the included disposable pads. I didn't like them--the dry pad has no depth so if it picks up a chunk of something, like dry cat food, then it pushes it around or drags it around the floor. The wet pad wasn't very absorbent so left streaks and wheel marks.*

      Both clean the same in terms of suction and mopping. The S5 Max gives you more control

      Yes but if it can clean them it would handle anything your house can throw at it. Never even know they made one

    Why the name Robot Masters instead of Robot Master? You’re only one person and Robot Master sounds cooler.
