So I have been wanting to get the Fnatic Streak LP in white for quite some time, but it seems it has been out of stock for months in ANSI format. How would you compare this keyboard to the Fnatic keyboard? Which would you run as a main over the other? Thanks and great content once again!
Personally I don't think this board is worth it. $250 is just way too much. A custom keyboard, while not as fast will sound much better and feel better and especially those stabs will sound better. Someone can get a very good custom keyboard for less than $250. Razer REALLY needs to improve their stabs. If one wants a really fast gaming keyboard the Steelseries apex pro or The new Wooting keyboards are much cheaper but still perform very well if not better, especially with that rapid trigger feature. And if one is looking for a low profile keyboard the Fnatic streak 65lp is less than half the price. Don't think the extra features is worth $100+. If this keyboard was $150 or even $170 I think it would be worth it but $250 is just way too much.
Facts, I don't really see any reason to buy this keyboard when Wooting exists if it's for gaming purposes and having a great custom keeb if only for regular use . The only good feature here is the fast switching between computers and that's it.
These are pretty much the same price as the Logitech G915 lineup. As much as I like those and would probably like this board I still think they are too expensive, FOR ME. If you are looking for a more budget option check out the Redragon K621 (TKL) or K618 (Full-sized). These are also tri-mode connectivity low-profile boards. Definitely not the same build quality as the Razer or Logitech boards but they are both sub $100 and are currently on sale for around $70.
I've had this kenoard for about 6 months and last weekend I gave up on it. Both this and my razor mouse would just lose input capabilities intermittently. Sometimes for a minute or more. It would do this plugged in, with the hyperspeed dongle, and on bluetooth. Luckily I kept my Logi G peripherals which I never had an issue with. I just like the aesthetics of the Razer products more. It sucks because they look and feel great. They just don't work for shit. I always wonder how much influencers are paid to review products.
Love the good and honest reviews, I’ve had the Apex 7 TKL since launch and Razers products always stand out to me so I may give the Deathstalker TKL a go. Heck maybe even my typos will go down 😁
I like the look of this keyboard, but I also have a 915. I went from all razer to a mix as I use a 915 with brown switches now and a razer mouse, but I use the keyboard for work and play. The reason I switched was because razer and their synapse software is too intrusive (I have a company issued computer for work) and is too heavy as a background task in my opinion which was the ultimate factor in my decision to switch.
It's the opposite for me. I used to have Logitech Keyboard, Mouse, and Headset. I ended up switching to a wireless razer headset, and now I'm using the Razer Deathstalker V2 Pro keyboard. My mouse is still Logitech as I am way too invested in the positioning of the G502 buttons, but I can't stand Logitech's G Hub software (thank God for the on board memory manager).
For anyone that may bitch about the price, and the price is high, it's about on par with what Logitech is selling their G915 wireless, wired, & TKL low profile boards for, and unlike the Logitech boards they don't have the ridiculous macro buttons on the left side.
So this video really got me, I bought the keeb (well, the wired version since I don't actually need it to be wireless) from Amazon yesterday and it will arrive on Monday. I have high expectations on it since I come from a razer huntsman tournament edition. Let's see how it turns out 😳🔪.
I love Razer boards, but I'm not a low profile fan. For one thing, you can't change the keycaps easily, and I do love PBT keycaps. My daily driver is an older Razer, and it's still solid after years. Looks good, too. But they can keep the low profile keys. BTW, the volume wheel looks awfully like a Logitech one, doesn't it? I use my keyboards mainly for typing, so I do wish somebody would do a review of the best mechanical keyboard for typing!
Their first deathstalker was low profile which I used to have, and was one of their cheaper boards, this is the second version, and now 2.5x more expensive.
Not sure why you recommend Razer, worst big gaming companies products out there. I had a razer viper ultimate for less than a year, the grips are peeled off and middle button (scroll wheel button) stopped working, nothing changed with their products quality and longetivity
G915 clone and gone with massive overpricing imo. Nice looking kb (G915 style lover 🥰). To much case flex in many reviews and quality doesn’t look like it’s there imo. Cheapo looking ABS keycaps and I would love to see a 3-4 moth review after “maining” this with the keycaps. I do have a few Razer products…. But the Viper V2 and this have deflated my interest in their recent product lineups.

6:03 oh boy you did not just say a dream to type on? :S It sounds rattly and not very pleasant, to me at least. I'm glad you found your new main keyboard, I really am. I do however get the "safe guard" vs Razer fanboyism; you do really sound overly enthusiastic for quite generic features found on several other keyboards out there. 8:27 once you actually claimed that the Wooting 60HE doesn't "even come anywhere near" the Deathstalker V2 in terms of: -Features -Functions -Sound -Feel - That made me giggle. The Deathstalker lacks several features seen on the Wooting 60HE. I'm not a fanboy, I'm just spitting some facts while stating an example. If you think the Deathstalker has the edge in terms of both sound and feel, well I don't know what to say, I guess I'm happy if you like it that much but I strongly disagree on a personal point of view. I have the Razer Huntsman Mini with the V2 optical red switches, and if this sound or feel anything even remotely close to that (it sure looks that way) I just don't know what to say. I have the Wooting 60HE. Hall effect switches are pretty much as smooth as they come on a stock gaming keyboard, heck even the stabs are very generously lubed, and they sound and feel really good out of the box. *NO RATTLE, NO KEY WOBBLE* I just can't comprehend putting these two boards side to side and give the edge to Razer on all of the above. Price is also quite hilarious considering what you actually end up getting. And yes, the Wooting 60HE (Wooting in general) is in the wind these days, there's definitely hype, but there's a reason for that. I trust I don't have to mention all the features this board sports - which several other contenders do not - including Razer? I'm honestly pretty surprised on your take here.
Wow, heck of a comment. As for features/function, how many average gamers are going to utilize the 60he features? This board has real day to day features.
@@TheTechne Fair point / statement there bud. It sure has, just like the 60HE also sports its own features. Sure, it lacks the wireless connectivity and it has a smaller form factor, but other than that it really shines in terms of sound, feel, performance and that sort of thing. Just thought I'd point that out. How one perceive all of this is somewhat subjective though. It just sounded a bit like the Deathstalker was superior in every single way and - well, I don't own the Deathstalker so I'm not going to be a wiseguy here - simply wanted to point out the fact that the stalker isn't necessarily superior in all aspects aforementioned. The 60HE is highly versatile in its own way. Like you mentioned, these two are quite different in terms of use, but overall they did get compared within a few key areas - just wanted to share my take on that. Happy you like the Deathstalker though, I'm sure it's a great keeb

@ Keyboard format, size, keycaps etc, it's all personal preference. Custom keyboards are nice, but they are more or less solely there for aesthetics - sound, feel, customization and so forth. For gaming however, you'd usually prefer something fast, responsive. Functions and features are also considered to be a necessity, even though it's not for everyone. Look at the pro gamers out there, gaming for a living. They're all sponsored by Logitech, Xtrfy, Steelseries, Corsair and so on - that being keyboard, mouse and headset. It doesn't really matter all that much as they are adaptive and skilled at what they do - regardless of what type of peripherals they use. Gaming headsets are a joke in terms of sound quality. However, they're not required to live up to that mark as most headsets cater for your average game experience. I totally agree though, when it comes to gaming peripherals.. "PRO" doesn't really mean it's all that good. At least not if we're talking gear intended for gaming. The Deathstalker (just like the Apex PRO series) is insanely overpriced. You simply can not justify it IMO. Don't buy a keyboard because some person claims it to be hands down the best there is. I'd rather take advice from people who review peripherals objectively; leaving it up to you, the consumer to decide whether this is either good or bad - by pointing out their personal take on build quality - features - sound and performance, leaving you with their impressions rather than their personal verdict.
my issue with this is the fact that it has absolutely nothing in common to the original deathstalker, pretty much everything is changed except the name. I say this as someone who used the original deathstalker chroma for years as well as a corsair low profile keyboard that looks very similar to this new release and its not like this is razers *lowest* profile switch either, they literally make laptops that have more of a "deathstalker" look than this. if they had gone that route than id probably think of this more positively besides that, yeah this is a killer board
@@shaman42 the og deathstalker was pretty nice tbh. the switches obviously brought it down but if they made a version with better switches and some other features I could see myself using it again

Honestly the G915 was pretty mediocre.. It’s just the feel of the switches, the mushy media buttons and the volume wheel that has no resistance nor tactility at all. Razer’s keyboard is also more compact compared to Logitech’s massive top portion, where it houses all the media buttons and the volume wheel.

FINALLY! someone is taking on logitech in more than just the gaming space, cause this taking on the g915 AND the mxkeys love it
Razer and Logitech is like Apple and Samsung for mouse, keyboard, and headset for gaming.
Thank god they got rid of the fugly illuminates snake logo
Definitely not the same build quality as the Razer or Logitech boards but they are both sub $100 and are currently on sale for around $70.
only high latency bluetooth
You just said the Wooten 60HE was your new main...
Funny, innit
I've had this kenoard for about 6 months and last weekend I gave up on it. Both this and my razor mouse would just lose input capabilities intermittently. Sometimes for a minute or more. It would do this plugged in, with the hyperspeed dongle, and on bluetooth. Luckily I kept my Logi G peripherals which I never had an issue with. I just like the aesthetics of the Razer products more. It sucks because they look and feel great. They just don't work for shit.
I always wonder how much influencers are paid to review products.
Can you check to see if this works with PS4/PS5? With 2.4ghz? No one has this info yet.

Love the good and honest reviews, I’ve had the Apex 7 TKL since launch and Razers products always stand out to me so I may give the Deathstalker TKL a go. Heck maybe even my typos will go down 😁
It’s ok but 2 years ago Logitech released already the same lineup without optical but nah it’s not new, big f for me
I like the look of this keyboard, but I also have a 915.
Nice review but one question remains unanswered😊 It's not even answer on the Razer website. Can it be used with Android and/or iPhone/Apple TV?
For anyone that may bitch about the price, and the price is high, it's about on par with what Logitech is selling their G915 wireless, wired, & TKL low profile boards for, and unlike the Logitech boards they don't have the ridiculous macro buttons on the left side.
with the features packed in here, I really think t he price is justified. expensive yes, but again Kia VS Honda
huntsman with gen2 linear optical switches (red) is where it's at, though... this one's good, but not as good as the huntsman version, lol.
So this video really got me, I bought the keeb (well, the wired version since I don't actually need it to be wireless) from Amazon yesterday and it will arrive on Monday. I have high expectations on it since I come from a razer huntsman tournament edition. Let's see how it turns out 😳🔪.
Other reviewers mentioned some connectivity issues at 8-10 ft distance with Razer wireless keyboards, is it the case with this one as well?
really bummed out that they didn't include a 60%.... wouldve bought it in a heart beat
Or even a 65% 😁
I feel 60% and 65% hype is slowing down. I "was" cool. But at the end of the day, it's like 2"
@@TheTechne I can't go back to full size, after the Huntsman mini. It would be perfect if it was 65%.
@@blesner I mained 65% for so long, went back to TKL, and man so much better. I do enjoy the occasional 60% for gaming here and there
Question I have is if you have dabbled with custom keyboards then why would this one become your main? No hate just curiosity

Really digging companies checking low profile for their keyboards.
Only issue about these though, for me, is battery life since switches are optical.
you can RAZER DEATHSTALKER V2 PRO TENKEYLESS wired.
How would you choose between Razer DeathStalker V2 Pro TKL and Razer BlackWidow V4 75% with Yellow switches for gaming?
The fact that Logitech is still on Micro-USB was enough to make me choose Razer this time around.
Thanks maan for such a passionate video .. Definitely adding this to my wishlist..
Razer finally goes low-profile! 🔥👌
Awesome video btw
Their first deathstalker was low profile which I used to have, and was one of their cheaper boards, this is the second version, and now 2.5x more expensive.
I wouldn’t spend 300$ for low profile when you can get wireless low profile kb for 60$ from keychron example or a custom low profile

G915 is also abs you know?
I guess I'm the only weirdo who likes the purple clicky over silent reds. Silent reds always feel stiff and mushy
@ the techne They did not market this as hotswapable but it is, you can use the low profile keychron switches!
performance and qulaity is the way to go, that is why I always go with razer :) those other brand are just for casual office player.
"I test products. I don't study spreadsheets!" hahaha preach it brotha
Its so cool thst your one of the first people to get out a video on this thing. Its just like the logitech g915 which i wanted to love but it just fell short. This is perfect. Thanks Techne. Keep em comin!
thanks for watching man!
Try keychron low profile ist better typing experience and 60$
@@oppi263 I know about that board but unfortunately it doesn't do it for me in terms of aesthetics and I cant remap the keys. I hate big box premium prices as much as the next guy but this one has everything I want in a keyboard. So gonna have to suck it up. Appreciate the recommendation though!

Anyone else have connection issues with this keyboard? I have seen some complaints about it online and have tried various fixes to no avail.
I'm sorry £250 here in the UK for basically a carbon copy of what logitech did with the 915. I built my GMMK Pro for £210 which I can customize anyway I like
i used razer fro my whole life....never really dissapointed me for the price. have my blackwidow chroma v2 for 5 year now..working fine..never cleaned properly
i always love your reviews so much! and from the perspective of a gamer! Im sold, i wanna get this keyboard now :D
I've always liked it whenever there was like easter eggs in stuff like the video's timestamp thingies, made me smile whenever I saw "Now I can't pay my bills" "Yeah because you're skipping" keep doing those if you have just started them lol
lol, I have done them a few times before
I'm stuck between this and the TKL version. Thoughts? I've never used anything beside full sized keyboard. Gonna be playing FPS games and Diablo 4.
are you ready sir for the new mouse from pulsar- the pulsar X2
The question is are u? I have been using it 😉 video coming very soon

6:03 oh boy you did not just say a dream to type on? :S
It sounds rattly and not very pleasant, to me at least.
I'm glad you found your new main keyboard, I really am. I do however get the "safe guard" vs Razer fanboyism;
you do really sound overly enthusiastic for quite generic features found on several other keyboards out there.
8:27 once you actually claimed that the Wooting 60HE doesn't "even come anywhere near" the Deathstalker V2 in terms of:
-Features
-Functions
-Sound
-Feel
- That made me giggle. The Deathstalker lacks several features seen on the Wooting 60HE.
I'm not a fanboy, I'm just spitting some facts while stating an example.
If you think the Deathstalker has the edge in terms of both sound and feel, well
I don't know what to say, I guess I'm happy if you like it that much but I strongly disagree on a personal point of view.
I have the Razer Huntsman Mini with the V2 optical red switches, and if this sound or feel anything even remotely
close to that (it sure looks that way) I just don't know what to say.
I have the Wooting 60HE. Hall effect switches are pretty much as smooth as they come on a stock gaming
keyboard, heck even the stabs are very generously
lubed, and they sound and feel really good out of the box. *NO RATTLE, NO KEY WOBBLE*
I just can't comprehend putting these two boards side to side and give the edge to Razer on all of the above.
Price is also quite hilarious considering what you actually end up getting.
And yes, the Wooting 60HE (Wooting in general) is in the wind these days, there's definitely hype,
but there's a reason for that. I trust I don't have to mention all the features this board sports -
which several other contenders do not - including Razer?
@@sjofelumsk agree, product features differ for everyone. A bug area this plays in is headsets. But heck it's with everything, cars, food.....,..
@@sjofelumsk y agree abit but after a while with 60-65% i dont want go back to tkl or full size and didnt like the apex pro mini wireless usb c was hard to plug in just with adapter and prefer cable I am glad that wooting 60 he has arrivedf it sounds better than my amateur custom or gmmk and mountain everest 60 maybe for 100$ i would try da v2 pro but to many pro and gaming terms in name
I say this as someone who used the original deathstalker chroma for years as well as a corsair low profile keyboard that looks very similar to this new release
and its not like this is razers *lowest* profile switch either, they literally make laptops that have more of a "deathstalker" look than this. if they had gone that route than id probably think of this more positively
besides that, yeah this is a killer board

well the og deathstalker wasn't that good. I had it because I wanted low profile gaming keyboard which didn't exist back then.
@@shaman42 the og deathstalker was pretty nice tbh. the switches obviously brought it down but if they made a version with better switches and some other features I could see myself using it again
Man, you always release vids at the PERFECT time, I'm looking to get a keyboard pretty soon and this review solidified my choice, thanks!
I'm waiting for a revised Huntsman Elite or equivalent with that fabulous built in led wrist rest.
What's funny is I just pulled out my 915 right before watching this. I love this board but gosh darn I wish it had usb-c.
I just odered this. Do you think it will be good for competitive fps games. Because of it being wireless? Can't you just use it wired.
The pricing on this board is crazy. No reason for this to cost more than 150. You have totally lost touch as a reviewer trying to rationalize this.
Question for anyone who has this. Has anyone tried putting their ear next to the power button while the keyboard is on only to hear a buzzing/electrical sound? Wondering if this is normal. It's a very low noise, and noticeable during quiet hours if you lean in.
Can't notice it on mine though my hearing may not be as good as yours. Like most things like what you stated, the more you try and listen out for it the more you'll notice it. Just try and ignore.
Techne, this or huntsman v2? Both wired and red switch. Best overall?
If you do not touch the keyboard, how long will the backlight stay on. Can that be adjusted? If you use it whired, will the backlight stay on?
typo in the last chapter... however he lost me at 2 macs and razor.....
You may like the red switch but I really wanna see the purple version
looks like a great board but after using 75 and 65% boards that thing looks like a giant. I could never go back to using something that large
Good review techne!! Please make a review on the new kone xp air😱
Thank u, and will do
Hey ! I hesitate between huntsman v2 / apex pro Tkl / asus rog strix scope rx. My priority is confort, not speed activation.
An advice ?
Great review as always! I hope they make a Wired version of the TKL, if they do that, I may be interested on this keyboard
U can just leave the wireless one plugged in
@@sethterwilliger9434 nope, I think the TKL version can only be connected via wireless
@@jo-mf7wl then how would I charge it any and all wireless keyboards can be connected to pc by usb cable
@@sethterwilliger9434 just toke another look, nvm I was wrong it can be connected via Wired too, but since I dont really use wireless an only Wired version would spare some money

My worry with razor products is the software is trash, I have a deathadder and don't use it, it conflicts ams is system heavy, what is your experience?
does quick access switching only work for bluetooth or does it work for hyperspeed as well?
can we all agree that we need white keycaps separate that work with this keyboard
I got this keyboard im having trouble pairing it to bluetube but it works just not wireless any help
wooting should be main keyboard or apex pro mini
why? 90% of us gamers will never utilize adjustable switches.
wooting actually sounds better than my custom which is also cheap like wooting around 180$ and i dont like tkl or full size anymore since we got used to it but might try deathstalker v2 pro when it get chapaer 65% would be perfect
@ I have customs that sound better, and cost about the same. But I love everything about the DS .
i would buy deathstalker v2 pro when they improve it and release 60/65% or improved tkl version which cost less than 200$ maybe next year 60/65% version too but there will be other razer keyboards released no need buy all and i dont like wireless on keyboards too much
LETS GO!! Find a feature this thing doesn’t have lol! I’m still sticking with my Apex Pro TKL and saving my money for other gaming peripherals. Nice to see Razer perfecting their keyboards.. even though they almost have too many line ups now lol.
man this keyboard is a dream chime true
@@TheTechne I hope you didn't type your answer on it with that incorrect spelling of 'come'.
Techne, I suggest if your looking for low profile, look at the g915 keyboards. They are thinner and it just looks better in my opinion
had two, this one blows it away
Honestly the G915 was pretty mediocre.. It’s just the feel of the switches, the mushy media buttons and the volume wheel that has no resistance nor tactility at all. Razer’s keyboard is also more compact compared to Logitech’s massive top portion, where it houses all the media buttons and the volume wheel.
Yeah I looked more into it... Logitech is f'd
there was this brand that was called bloody and make an optical keyboard and the price was cheap only $20 but the optic sensor was really good Its below 1ms i test it out
I have tested some bloody products before. I believe their parent company actually makes the razer switches. If I'm thinking correctly
@@TheTechne yes they're actually just a rebranded LK switches
And ofcourse razer is over pricing them 🤣🤣🤣🤣
Considering getting the wired full size v2, how does it fare playing FPS games despite the bigger layout- is it still comfortable?
I used it playing a bunch of halo. I prefer TKL, but the fullsize was fine
Honestly? This is like the Logitech’s low profile keyboard but in USB type C and without those annoying macro buttons on the side.
