My mother bought perfume in Egypt during WW2 made from pure oils with no alcohol, it’s in a blue bottle with a rubber stopper (not silicone) with a real silver cap and label. The perfume is still as good today in 2022 as it was when she bought it. Best thing you only need the smallest drop and it last for days on the skin even after bathing.💯👍💕🇦🇺

Im Shocked there is no mention of the Aztecs or Mayans. Both were extremely clean societies who when they encountered the Spanish would cover them in fregrent flower wreaths like they do in Hawaii and cover the ground with rose pedals like in a wedding all while burning giant plumes of incenses in their presence. The Spanish thought they were being treated as kings. But in reality they just smelled really bad and were extremely offensive to the Natives.😂

As to ambergris, for quite a long while, we didn't know where it came from from. These waxy blobs that smelled amazing just washed up on shore. They still do, and will make you a hefty chunk of change if you find one. Thing is, if you pull a chunk of ambergris straight from the whale, it smells like rotten death. It only starts smelling amazing once it's been exposed to air for a good long while.

@@SuperWeenieHutJuniors oh yeah, i totally agree. I can't stand being too hot. I'm from Oregon so nowhere near what the other parts of the country have to deal with but these last handful of years have been a lot hotter & drier than it's been most of my life here. I much prefer colder weather. Like cloudy days, not freezing cold but anything is better than hot weather.

They would have to add a g and an e because it's "colon". And ancient people weren't talking about colons bc they didn't have that word. But.... it would have been funny a joke..

Weird or not, you did not mention the famous texts of the Bible, the Song of Songs speaks of roses and more on the lips of the beloved who dwells and wanders in perfumed gardens. Archaeological excavations in Israel prove how well developed the industry of perfume was thousands of years ago. The poet of the Song of Songs famously asks her friends to lay out apples for her to lie on while she was waiting for her beloved-may be fruits were also an ingredient in ancient eastern fragrance.

Musk from the anal glands of the civet cat is used for making perfume. It’s not related to domestic cats at all (though the image made me laugh). Surely no one is going to sniff their pet’s rear end to find out … ?
