    I am a toyota fan but man, hilux and fortuner is waaaaaaay too old exterior design and interior as well. lack of tech features. toyota getting lazy

    Let’s admit it. We deserve a better Toyota. This is a glorified Hilux with wide kits. That’s all. It’s no match to the Ranger Raptor.

      Not much. With gas price, and its consumption. BUT, for the right buyer of the V6, absolutely. I think they'll enjoy its response since less lag.

      i love ford but i wouldnt say this is just a hilux with body kits. sure its the same engine but its tuned to have 20 more hp and 50 more nm of torque. as for the ford, i really wish they come out with a V6 everest to compete with the grs fortuner. and yeah the 3.0 v6 gasoline is nice but id like to see a 2.7 v6 diesel added to the mix. imagine going to the gas station and the clerk accidentally puts diesel in the v6 raptor because every other raptor that they've seen are all diesels 😂

    Overrated, overpriced, and the ride is still stiff. Nah, I'm not even looking at a Toyota product unless they make drastic changes in the production practices. The new Triton is value for money.

      Bringing tacoma here would not be wise because its in the same midsize segment of the hilux. It might not sell well too. Because afaik its made in the americas so it'll be significantly expensive.

      The Ranger V6 also beats or is on par with the Tacomas in the US, and the V6 Raptor that would be available here in the Philippines is significantly cheaper than a Tacoma.

    the problem with the raptor is reliability! In fact, any Ford product has reliability issues! Maybe it rides a little smoother, but that goes away quickly when you’re stranded on the side of the road with your macho Ford pick up truck!

      I agree the Fortuner and Hilux really needs an all new model. It may have ADAS but the interior material, design, and space is so outclassed by the MUX and Everest. And those 3rd row seat and how it folds needs to goooo ASAP!

    The Hilux is a good option if you want a reliable longer life span. The Raptor is Refinement and Features. If you ask me I go for the Hilux.

    I think Toyota should make a GRS & GRS Plus wherein the difference is the suspension setup and instead of the leaf spring it should be coilsprings for car enthusiasts who just like performance, comfort & power.

      We dont have moose, elk, or bucks here, but Vince did get to do an emergency lane change at 70km/h because a tricycle suddenly tried to enter the road on the way to the shoot. Hilux did fine.

      Sa flywheel at dpa nakakabit sa body ng sasakyan sila nagsukat nyan ang nasa papel na nakasulat kya kung sa wheels kna magsusukat ng horsepower cympre bawas na yan kc..

      Yes. Lahat naman ng sasakyan ganun. Yung 224 hp, & torque ay yun yung max sa stock. Pero in real life lower siya talaga. Ex. Sa single turbo ng ranger/everest 168hp pero real life siguro nun nasa 150hp lang.

      they still have the Hilux Mild Hybrid as their last hurrah for this generation of Hilux. Expect TMPI to bring that in before the 9th Gen Hilux. As always, mauuna ang Australian market sa launch ng all new Hilux 9th gen. If the Aussies have it na then expect around 4-6 months before we get it in our market.

    I just gotta say this here. IF I WERE TO BUY A PICKUP TRUCK FOR WORK HORSE PURPOSE, I'D BUY THE BASE MANUAL OR BASE AUTOMATIC.
    That car is UNDERSPECED. Toyota is lagging in innovation and customer demands. Lets face it, reason you'll buy this is because of the BRAND.

    this GRS seems to be more in line with the wildtrack then the conquest on ranger sport. the fact that toyota wants to make it sporty but still keep the leafs at the back makes it easily in no way a raptor competitor. better have a conquest 4x4 modify than this.

    This Hilux body was launched 2015. You are better off waiting for the 9th gen Hilux.

      I agree. When our fam was looking for a suv, fortuner nasa isip ng erpats kasi may 2016 hilux kami, sabi ko everest na lang. Kung gusto mo ng fortuner wait na lang sa next gen. Lugi kasi sa offering ni toyota sa ibabayad mo e. Went with everest, happy with the choice kasi maluwag siya tapos goods na EPS siya like yung xpander namin. Laking bagay sa long drive di nakaka pagod masyado. Ganda din ride. Talaga

      agree sir matagtag nga. but for being a utility work truck, it is second to none though, the ruggedness of the vehicle itself and that leaf is unbeatable. competitors may also carry a ton but the squat is really concerning, the company currently work in has hilux, triton and navarra. but only hilix can go offroad and still carry alot of equipment. i would prefer conquest than this grs though.

    The Ranger Raptor is in a class of its own, and the Hilux GRS is still below that level. The only thing Toyota can boast about the GRS is its never-ending and undying "RELIABILITY." With that, we get overpriced old junk.

    Ecoboost engine is more than a decade old compared to the 2.0 bi-turbo diesel engine. In terms of reliability, the ecoboost engine is better.

    I had 2017 Hilux 4x4 same powerplant as this one replace it with 2022 Next Gen Raptor.
    Toyota is really a decade behind in all aspects.
    If Ford deciphers aftersales strength of Toyota, I think is just a matter of time they'll overtake the PPV & PPV SUV market pie.

STILL Rough ride, claustrophobic interior space, outdated tech. come on toyota has been milking this gen kac ung mga fans subrang blind bimibili parin kaya yan d nag uupdate ng new gen. After 1 year of research na punta aq kai triton super ganda. Mas malapad nga c hilux sa fender pero mas malapad c triton sa space.
