Couldn't you get the same "direct charging" by leaving the battery in and running an isolator? Blue sea do a 500A isolator that would handle that without the nonsense of having no main battery.
Strewth!!! My 6.6 litre Silverado 3500 uses less fuel than that guzzler, even towing a 3,500kg Bushtracker from Adelaide to Perth and back...averaged 21.2L/100 (actual...not from the computer)...and I don't spare the ponies.
ASV do the best job of converting the Rams they actually change the position of the steering box and brake booster to the right side of the truck, I won’t touch a ram from any other conversion company.

I get 12.9 combined out of mine, they actually have cylinder deactivation and can cut down to 4 cylinders. I think if I thrashed it though the bush it would be a different story.

Learn how to drive mate, I have a ram and can put it into any car park no problem, trick is to reverse in.
