Charge ur phone and pack to 100 put the pack on ur phone in the morning and for me i start at 8am to 6pm and i maintain 91% (which it does so it doesn't over charge. It’s not designed to charge a low or dead battery in an iPhone….its supposed to be attached to a fully charged iPhone and then the battery pack maintains the iPhone at about 90% for way longer by trickle charging the iPhone battery, so you can get maybe 2 days without having to recharge unless you’re a super heavy user.
Don’t use it to charge a dead phone put it on your phone after you charge your phone and your phone will draw power from your MagSafe keeping your phone charged for 4-6 hours before the patch dies then you have a fully charged phone 4-6 hours later think of it more as a second battery to your phone

That can make the phone produce unnecessary heat which leads to permanent damage to the battery while the MagSafe Battery Pack keeps taking and giving energy helping with overheating.
