I got a hundred percent for my husband but it took me many years to fight the VA finally got total and permanent he died but I fought on
I am so sorry for your loss . However- As a 20 year wife of a military vet at 70 % ( who should have been more ) I am more concerned with how you are doing and all the pain you
took on, likely without any compensation & recognition and making many sacrifices of your own . I hope we normalize checking on those vets with spouses & children - and making sure they understand their purpose can be more than helping one person who is already being taken care of either with care, compensation, and opportunities. Take care of yourself .
Hey I really respect you doing that for him. My wife is helping me alot right now and I can tell it's hard on her. That's super awesome of you. Goodluck in life ✌️
Sorry to hear about ur loss
@@applesoss8805 military spouses are THE WORST only on the ride for the benefits. GROSS.
@@johndoe-ek6vl I hope you know that that is a version of PTSD. That is her coping with her loss. Sounds like you don't understand shit about PTSD. I am literally looking for how I can get 70% and you come on here like the husband wouldn't have wanted that for her. I think you're the gross one here and the worst one.
After 8 years of fighting and being denied, the veterans appeals judge granted me my disability! It was a tough tough battle for me, having to relive the trauma. I don’t know my rating yet
Update: I am now rated at 60 percent and just received my back pay.
Been 60% for 6 years still fighting
@@beedee9534 I plan on fighting again “only,” if my condition worsens as I age.
Good luck to you. I feel truly thankful and blessed to be at 60 percent.
@@Afroricanz84 you are dumb. why are you fighting unless you are not really that bad off? my rating was pushed on me. i never applied. i was forced to retire early medically. i faked my c&p hoping i can convince them to let me stay in.
@@GETBENT1331 I’m dumb for fighting for what is deserved to me? If that makes you feel good about yourself then I’m happy for you 😉
I had insufficient C&P exam during and after my honorable discharge, which were proven in court along with all of my documents, with a special team of appeals specialists.
You have no clue on my medical history nor do you know my story.
Have a blessed one and Merry Christmas cause my “dumbness’s,” has given me such a beautiful life and all that I deserve.
@@Afroricanz84 yo, i cannot do shit because of my rating. i am restricted.
I'm not very good at articulating this type of information. Your channel is providing great information to help those of us who have disabilities, don't know how to put it in words, and don't know how to start the process. Thank you.
Thank you for the kind words - we are happy to help!
you still have to articulate everything or most of what is happening during C&P. Which is hard for vets who already have PTSD to begin with.
They also rate you based off your MOS also easier for combat MOS’s to get service connected and higher rating
I'm 70 PTSD, 30 migraines (90% total), and 14 other 0-10% ratings. hired a lawyer in March for my unemployable rating; severly injured my lower back in Desert Storm and now cant stand for 15-20min intervals.
How did it go?
@@jamestaylor1754 yeah i wonder why he just didn't go for 100 schedular first unless he wants ssdi
Great information. Thanks for sharing. I just hope the VA will train some of these doctors they hired. Because not all but some of these doctors are way off the grid when veterans try to tell them our medical condition.
We are glad to help, thank you for tuning in!
They hire 3rd party for your eval and they have absolutely no idea what your issues are. Lie your ass off to them because they aren’t there to help you.
I just had my C and P exam yesterday. It did not go well. I needed more time. She was rushing me. Too many questions way too fast. Now I wait to see what they say. I’m currently at 30% for PTSD with a 60% rating with some other issues.
@@Ornelas11B c&p are fucked.

I've been out for 14 years, and have been afraid to go to to va. I started going 2 years ago, finally, because life has not been good since I left. I thought if I hid, I could find myself. But I'm lost, and the va is making it so hard for me to get help. Because I am poor, afraid, and don't have means of a home or a phone, I can't get help, because I have to wait for them to call me, which I have no way of waiting for a call. I'm on wifi at this moment, needing to find information. But the more I find, the harder it seems to be. I only wish I could get the help I need, life is closing in, I've felt suffocated for years and I can't claw my way out of this hole I've been in.
Brother Ethan, physically go back to the VA. Tell the you want to see someone. Tell them what you write here. No matter what brother. You keep going back. Don’t wait for them. Many times they want you to get tired and give up. Keep going, whether you have an appointment or not. Make them take you serious. I have been fighting since 2017 with depression and anxiety. Now that the VA have diagnosed me with sleep apnea, insomnia and PTSD, they can’t deny the previous claim. Like or hate Trump, at least he kept the VA on their toes. He cared about us. We should never have to fight this hard for benefits we have earned.😡 The battle didn’t just stop with the war…; it still goes on for us veterans.
Short and sweet.
Great information. Thank you
Thank you for tuning in!
31 yrs it took me to go to VA. I got 70 percent rating for ptsd. I work part time a yr now . I’m slowing down . What do I do next ?
Very informative. Thank you.
Thank you for joining us!
I exhibited many of the 70% symptoms but they only gave me 50% for PTSD.
My claim was complex with various claims submitted and I am currently at 90% while pending the results of 4 deferred claims for which I attended my final C&P exams for last week.
I’m waiting for the VA to send me the final decision letter and then appeal the claims I feel they cheated me on!
Submit a higher level review.
@@cherylagyemane8672 no I’m good now. I appealed sleep apnea and won which puts me at 100% and P&T!
@@XxStonedImmaculatexX nice nice. They automatically gave u p?t? I might be able to get up to 100 eventually but i don't think theyll give me p&t
@@cherylagyemane8672 it depends on whether they think your conditions will improve or not.
I kept going to all my VA appointments just in case they checked and I gotta believe they did because they gave me P&T.
I would advise that if you’re not P&T, keep going to your appointments so if they check, they can see the status!
@@XxStonedImmaculatexX Im only at 60 n paid at 50% I have a long way to go. Ive only been out since nov 2020 n I have my heavy hitters deferred. I have sleep apnea n PTSD deferred. Now my VSO told me the examiner put me down for 70 ptsd n with the cpap thats 50. That alone would shoot me to 190. I have mild pes planus and that is also deferred. If I get 10% off of that it would shoot me to 200 but I need 210 for 100% pay. I have headaches at zero n denied bilateral wrist s in a supplemental claim right now that would push me over if all of these were to happen.
I am trying to figure out the guidelines for PTSD and my connection with my Autoimmune Disease. When you look into it, it makes since that they are connected. I end up with a flare up of my autoimmune disease after a PTSD event.
If someone is being treated with medication from the VA for ptsd mainly nightmares and depression should they file for disability! I'm trying to encourage my brother to file a claim asap! TIA
Have your brother get all of his medical records and make sure that he’s been fully diagnosed, find a VA rep and then file that claim. If he’s being seen, you’re right he needs to file.
bro once there's any prescription medication involved it's in the bag. FILE
I suffer with all of these things. Help

I have provided a Nexus letter for my PTSD claim. The VA is now requesting my medical records from my mental health treatment. I don’t really want to share them, I feel like it’s very private. Hence the reason I provided a well written nexus up front. Do I have to give them my records?
They're raters so they have a legitimate reason to see your records. Also, chronicity amd continuity of care is important. You need to show them you are actively seeking treatment.
If you want to get paid you'll turn those records over
Guess who got paid and didn’t have to turn over treatment records. This guy!
@@Teawithlee did you do anything special?
@@TUCK2SHARP I had my therapist fill out my DBQ, and write a nexus letter explaining my experiences and their effects. I also submitted a “symptoms list” a “medication list”. And I spent time writing out my personal statement, a paragraph intelligently explaining my experiences. When I went to the P&T exam the nice lady said I had already given her much of what she needed. She asked me a few questions, gave a few suggestions and I was done in 10 min. Hope this helps!
If someone has a 70% static mental health condition that finally starts to improve with medication, will the VA re-evaluate or potentially reduce based off of this improvement, even though it is considered static and has been in effect for 7 years?
Your ratings can always be reduced if shown to improve but not for temporary improvement. Meds can help but its based von the rater no body in the comment section can dictate what kind of rater youll get. They might say hey it's static or say hey he's shown improvement lets send him on a c&p. Be Careful what you say in your appointments. However, if youve been at 70% for 7 years what got the improvement all of a sudden im curious?
@@cherylagyemane8672 Thanks for the feedback, it is listed as Static on my C-File. My main question is, static means permanent according to the V.A. The past 7 years I went 5 of those without meds and past 2 with meds, finally found a combo that makes me feel pretty good and able to function. Now although technically, it should be perminant. When I have my monthly meetings with my doctor and I tell them i'm feeling better, kind of two conflicting things you know? I have been telling my doctor I am improving, just wondering since it is already rated static, could the V.A re evaluate me based on this. I know they always "Could" but how probable is it.
@@cherylagyemane8672 can the ratings improved because you are STABLE under medication. Meaning, you are only stable because of the medications or you are able to manage. But without it, you’re done.
@@chansermish2406 they shouldn't but the raters are human, they make mistakes too N ultimately do what they want you have to look at the m21 manual and similar court cases. Luckily for me im allergic to zoloft and my mental health provider doesn't want to give me any meds right now.
I got 70% for PTSD and didn’t get any compensation. I had 2 periods of discharge 1 honorable and 1 OTH. Is their any way I should be getting compensation?
I have 70% for PTSD. I am at a total of 90%. I don't know what you're doing with the VA but if you are at 70% you should be getting quite a bit of compensation. Is there anyway to get 100% ptsd without TDYU? I have social issues but I have a degree and would like to use it at least part time or work from home?
I’ve been out since 2013 and I know I have ptsd from an ied blast but never claimed ptsd only tbi. How do I go about claiming ptsd
Get an actual diagnosis, check your active duty records or you VA records. Once you have the paper trail of the diagnosis of ptsd and your appointments and it’s linked to your service, you have a great chance.
Can you work with 100%PTSD P&T even if you're deemed incompetent (to handle your finances, and after you wife is your fiduciary)by the VA?
TDIU?
Do you have to exhibit all of the symptoms in the100% rating to be scheduled that or at a minimum of at least one.
I was Rated 50.
A month after Military I went to VA to Get help, and Volunteering to go to Hospital because I was Trying to take my life.
If I get Reviewed again will it go up? My mental Health Is really messed up and I have so much to explain but it’s so hard to Explain it all.. any help????
@@armybeef68 same here brother. I went to a C&P exam for depression and anxiety after being diagnosed by 4 psychiatrists. The C&P examiner gave me a questionnaire, turned around, placed her feet on her desk, ate a sandwich and drank some juice. She never asked me any questions. I was in her office no more than 3-4 minutes. A month later I got a denial letter stating that she was more rational than the other 4 😮. What??!! Now we are here in 2022 and the VA doctors have diagnosed me with PTSD, sleep apnea and insomnia. They can’t fight themselves. I’m mad because they made me go through these hoops, get an attorney and realize that I was telling the truth the whole time!!😡. Oh and the doctor at the C&P exam was a foot doctor! Why was she given the task for a mental issue?
@@terencebanyahudah5691 that is the same thing that happened to me with my exams. I was denied so many times but we kept submitting more evidence and re opening the claim. I ended up going to the appeals judge and the VA appeal specialists on my case proved that the CP doctors did an insufficient exam. If they deny you, keep fighting, you want to get to the judge. That’s the best chance. It took me 8 years.

What’s TDIU
Total Disability based on Individual Unemployability is a benefit offered by the Department of Veterans Affairs that allows disabled veterans who are unable to work due to a service-connected disability to receive disability compensation equal to a 100 percent rating, even if their combined disability rating does not reach a schedular 100 percent.
