Hello Troops, just did a C&P for migraines today. The PA said she can't check-off 50% without FMLA proof. Clinically I looked it up and found migraines are classified as 15 or more a month for 90 days. I provided a six month log and she did not review anything until after our interview. She also said she doesn't think I have migs as Sumatriptan didn't work for me. She also wished for a CAT scan. I did secondary to mental n Rhinitis n Tinnnitus. We'll see what happens in about 60 days...
@@antvn222 won 50% presumptive and not secondary after a 30 minute verbal wrestling match with the Examiner. Truly had to convince this PA aka Judge with no Jury without presenting evidence. BTW Raters also gave me 0% for my other claims I won max ratings for in HLR. Overall I had to fight for 4 out of 5 ratings across four months. Too bad there isn't a service to prep Vets for a 1- 2 hour C&P interrogation.
I had to go to the E.R. at the V.A. one day due to a terrible Migraine attack I was there for Hours... light sensitivity... Pain...nausea... sensitive to noise...
Could the migraines forcing you to miss work also apply to you not being able to accept a job because the conditions of the job can induce tinnitus and/or migraines?
I was just rated 0% for migraines, service connected. I told the doctor about the days I've taken off work in the past and eventually had to quit due to migraines. I submitted a "migraine buddy" document also. How could I be rated 0%?
I was diagnosed same at zero percent service connected. I think what helped me get to 30% is the fact I went to ER while I was active duty for migraines and when I got out I was recommended botox injections for migraines and traveled an hour every 3 months to get 16 painful injections done. I went from 0% to 30%
It's every day I experiencing migraine headache. Worst I ever felt is blurred vision, weird tinkle feelings through my arms and it cost me to bed rest for several days. The VA only rating me 10 percent. How can I reevaluate for migraine headache?
@Myesha I had previously wrote what you need to do, and I deleted my comment. Damn, your medication caused migraines? Gees! So you was service connected 0% at first...how long did it take for you to do the appeal?
@Myesha Thank you sis. I asked for a friend because got 10% at the C&P, then went for an increase and got a nexus and a DBQ. Should have been rated 50%, but got 30%. He was on Botox and medication. So now he needs to go for the increase again. I told him, this time get another nexus, personal statement how his life is impacted along with buddy statements. Again, based on the first increase due to the nexus, DBQ and number migraines in a month, you would think he would have got 50%.
Can I service connect a condition if I suffered an illness or injury while on Title 32 502 F Orders ?..... I was diagnosed, sleep studied, and received a CPAP Machine while on Title 32 502 F Orders. I have tinnitus and get headaches and migraines often. I've been to my VA doctor who has had my heart checked, had a brain scan completed, and more but won't just document my headaches nor give me any medication for headaches. VA sucks!
2 things then 2 questions: First, I started a log a while back on Migraine buddy but then stopped and it's been 3 months now since my last entry but obviously have continued to receive the migraines. Second, I have a Nexus letter from my doctor which states that more likely than not the migraines is a direct result of a service connected condition (adjustment disorder/PTSD). My migraine claim, though, is NOT a secondary claim and I feel that the way she wrote it makes it seem like a secondary. My 2 questions are 1). Should I restart the log since I haven't been called in a for a C&P exam yet? and 2) Do you think she writing the nexus letter may cause the VA to deny my claim since the claim is direct connection, not secondary connection?
@@cbc2919 hi @CBC... No, I never got a response to those questions. I can tell you that I was called in for a C&P exam, and received 30% for my migraines from the VA. I will assume that the Nexus letter that my doctor gave me did help in that decision. Eventually, overall with all of my other disabilities combined I received 100% PT, But that 30% really helped overall. Good luck to you with your claims.

So in my medical documents it doesn’t say “prostrating “ specifically but says “sm must lay down , be in quiet and dark settings for relief.” Will that fly or do they literally need the word prostrating? I get them easily 3x a week on a good week.
Hey CC, I suffer from severe chronic migraines and been taking off from work. I have an FMLA case which protects me from losing my job. My question how do I connect migraines as a secondary without a nexus ? I’m currently taking 5 different psych meds which each having headaches/migraines as side effects. Any information would be highly appreciate.
@@adamwoodie4029 yes, they have to take the veterans word for it. However keeping a log is crucial. You can do so by downloading the HeadApp. Record your migraines. Also, it’s just as important to get diagnosed by the va, so seek treatment. And go to all your va appointments for your migraines. If you’re currently seeking treatment for ptsd please let your doctor know what’s going on. This is all evidence.

How do I file a secondary VA claim to Tinnitus? Im service connected with tinnitus and I have 10%. I am planning on adding Migraines and Anxiety.
Same here I want to know
As soon as I know how I will pass it along to u
Watch Combat Craig. Type in secondary to Tinnitus in the search column on his page. He is a great resource.
I have. Combat Craig never replies.
To answer the question you guys are asking is yes you can file a claim for migraine headaches (secondary) to tinnitus.

Title 32 is state activation. You need to be federal activation aka active duty to be considered an on duty illness or sickness.
