The first game is one of the hardest to go back to, especially after experiencing the later games' quality of life upgrades first in the latter games of the series
This series has a LOT of history with me. Battle Network 1 was, no joke, the first video game I ever played. I seriously cannot say enough good things about these games.
I played starforce first, played battle network later but damn this is still one of the best style of gameplay ever. Easy to learn and easy to get lost in customizing your deck as well (in a good way)
I am so hyped for the Battle Network collection. I only ever played the original but I have some of my fondest memories associated with it. I'll never forget staying with the grandparents while going through a dungeon, listening to Price is Right, just having a great time. Times I'll never get back. EDIT: To add on to my comment I will say Battle Network and the Mega Man Zero games are what I consider first when I think of Mega Man.
I grew up with this MegaMan first. Afterwards it was X and then Classic. These games are fun. There's really nothing like it, at least not that I can think of. The whole futuristic theme is awesome, and they even predicted the future, both good and bad. It's awesomely scary if you think about it enough. I still kind of hope we get to a point where we can have our own Net Navis with an MMO like world. It's just too perfect in this modern day of Smart Devices.
MMBN was a great game, a brilliant original rpg concept including a genius battle system, perfect for the early 2000s era, not to mention taking advantage of the GBA hype and Pokémon's growth hyping up overall every kind of "collectible" concept in games.
I remember buying this game and being blown away by the fun gameplay as I also watched the anime on Kids WB along side with it and recognizing the characters. Seriously, growing up in the early 2000s and witnessing technology growing in drastic ways and mega man bien all about hacking and tech, really made this game feel way more advanced than most rpg titles coming out on the game boy.
MMBN is my jam. I think 4 and 5 lost a lot of charm between the graphical changes, the story, the dark chips, the translation errors, the designs of some of the new enemies, and the novelty of an internet-ified world wearing thin, but the core gameplay and deckbuilding mechanics were always there, and were the main reason to play these games anyway. I recently went back and played the first three games, and it was still as great an experience as I remember having when I first played them in high school. It's odd that so few other developers tried to copy this action/strategy/collectible formula, because I think it still holds up really well after 20+ years.
12:45 OMG they actually sold the personal terminal and the battle chips?! I remember making a fake terminal complete with chips out of cardboard when I was a kid. I could've asked for the real thing and I had no idea it existed 😭😭 Anyway, great video as always, man!!
I adore this series, so many fond memories of playing 3, 4, 5 and Battle Chip Challenge as a kid. The world, characters, gameplay and soundtrack of all six games is seriously top notch. BN4 Blue Moon has always been my personal favorite despite the many flaws it has. I'm excited for the BNLC next year!
Wow man. Talk about blasting me back to 6th grade. This was always such a hotter for me. Excited for the legacy collection. Thanks for the video. This is great.
As a musician what they did in this game is incredible. They could only work 2-3 part harmony due to tech constraints (as with many games of the time) but on top of that the audio had to be mixed for the tiniest crappiest speakers ever made on a gameboy. And to spite all that it still comes out sounding incredible. Some of the music in the dramatic parts almost made me cry as a kid. Great work all around.
The first game was stressful overall but you wouldn’t really notice it if it’s the first game from the series you played like I did. Like…the internet was legit a maze. Some stages were stressful as hell too. Iceman and Elecman stages come to mind…Jesus The quality of life changes they made between 1 and 2 were so necessary it’s amazing, never-mind style changes.
I also started from BN1, which was the only one that existed when I found out about BN at the time. Maybe that's why I don't complain as much about the experience of playing it like many that did the reverse order. But i wont deny there were many rough parts about it that were radically evolved right on BN2. That's an innovative first game in a series, it's no surprise to find issues here and there. The first MM1 also was rough at some parts compared to the sequels.
@@carlosaugusto9821 yeah, and i'm sorta dreading those parts. Even minor things like making escape not require a battlechip or the way they handled the "add" button changed things for me. The level designs got way better as well. I really am going to just beat the story for BN1 and be done with it. BN2 i may fully complete it because of how much i love that game
As a child, I used to get spooked by the altered Mr. Progs in the Elecman stage. Also, in the Elecman stage, the invisible path coupled with the limited battery the PET has really stressed the heck outta me. Literally tried to speed through it and save scum after every progress. It was during my second playthrough that I learned that the scientist can recharge your PET battery after it went flat. And then at the later game there's viruses with aura, adding more problems to the already maze -like internet and since its BN1, to skip random encounters, you need to wait for the Escape chip to show up to run away.
@@decyst6294 I literally had to use a pencil and paper to remember the Elecman battery combinations I was doing and I can’t lie, at the young age of like 10-12, it was a fun and engaging yet still torturous experience for me.
@@Capothekid i was introduced to the series with BN2 and is held near and dear to me for many reasons. once the collection came out i wanted to start from the beginning as i’ve only played BN2 and BN3, and holy shit BN1 was not fun to play lmao the QOL improvement is insane in BN2 having never played BN1 before. i powered through it just for the sake of beginning the context of the story for the franchise. i just finished today and took about 5-7 days to complete. definitely not going to look back at it ever again now that it’s over with
I’m with ya on giving the Battle Networks the acrylic treatment. Just got finished collecting all the games CIB a few months ago. By far my favorite games as a kid. The first Battle Network definitely has its flaws, but it’s still my second favorite in the series. I’ll never forget the first time I played it!
I love Pokémon and all but the MMBN series will always be my favourite GBA era series. Star Force was fine but i preferred Battle Network. First one was a bit lacking feature wise compared to the sequels but it's still an amazing game.
Man I am so excited for this release. I had completely forgotten about these until the announcement a few months ago. The wave of nostalgia that hit me was so refreshing.
Oh my, this is the first one who is such a huge fan of this series as I am I encounter on RUclips or whatever!!! I loved playing these games back in the day! And a legacy collection is coming out. Oh man I can't wait!! These where the games I played hours on hours, forgetting my homework. Also the few games I completed, they were so much fun!! Love you make content of it, consider me subscribed! :)
OMG I really loved your video!! Battle Network has a imporntant place in my hearth, this series made me love videogames as I do now days, thank you so much for bringing this to more audience!!
This was my favorite Mega Man game to play on my GBA. I spent countless hours on this game. This channel really is a nice trip down memory lane. Keep it up man!
I'm just like you with the fact that I went from Pokemon to MMBN when I felt the burnout, but I wasn't quitting and never quit Pokemon, just played it to the point where I could beat my neighborhood's ass, then I got to chill in ACDC Town and on the net with Megaman lmaooo Loved these games and was so hyped when they finally announced the legacy collection, but I honestly hope when all the legacy collections are finished, they decide to maybe take these old games, a step further by making newer ones or something. MMBN were good games, and I'm super glad the legacy collection will have online capability, but I'd really love to see a new installation of the series too and I hope the hype from all this shows them that there's still a big fanbase for it out there. The freedom of being able to explore and jack into any electronic machine wherever and find little bonuses, strange random npcs, rare chips in a random vending machine on the side of a road or in a hallway of a building... all so cool and creative. Nowadays seeing how connected through Alexa and Siri and all these AIs we are, and with how far tech has come in 20 years since this series began, I'd love to see how creative they could get with it.
I'd like to think my tweet to you had an influence on you deciding to make this video. The answer is yes! They really hit the mark with this franchise and I can't believe we haven't seen anything quite like it in the years since BN ended.
Where do I start?!, well, I actually started the Battle Network series with 3 because my older brother was lucky enough to get blue version (I say lucky because back in the early 2000’s we were children in a Dominican household who were stuck in the mindset that digital electronics were a blight on humanity or whatever), so time went on with me not knowing the great scope the BN series until in my middle school’s library I happened upon a magazine with MEGAMAN BN 6 on the back cover and then I truly found out what we were missing. As a side note I fell more in love with Star Force simply because 1) it was in 3D and 2) I really loved the look of Star Force’s character designs and the concept of the main character fusing with his “Navi” to become MEGAMAN himself rather than simply fighting alongside each other (especially the fact that he had a canine head as the Megabuster lol) over its predecessor, Battle Network. But hey, there is enough room in my heart for more than just one series or line in a series (it’s a pretty big problem for me as a gamer but I digress).
The way you feel about the games music is exactly how I feel about Mario and Luigi Partners in times music. Also I'm not sure if it was Megaman's Battle network that had that scanner where you can scan random barcodes to level up. Remember seeing the commercial for something about that
MMBN is one of my favorite series of all time and holds a lot of nostalgia for me. I started with MMBN3 and eventually played MMBN5 and 6 with my brother. The games have a ton of charm, a unique battle system and a story that really finishes well. I cannot wait for the legacy collection to relive the experience.
Dude, I was in 5th grade when I discovered this game series. Oddly enough, Megan Battle Network 3 Blue Version was my first experience back then. It cemented my love for the entire game series. And Battle Network 3 Blue is still my favorite to this day.
Gen Z here! I was a baby/toddler while Capcom was releasing the Battle Network games so I never really got to experience the franchise as a child. I’m currently playing through the entire Mega Man franchise right now, bought all the legacy collections available in the Playstation store during the last holiday sale as they were very low prices. I’ve been really enjoying myself with the games so far and as of this comment I’m on Mega Man 5! Going in order from the earliest series to the latest, and I’m super psyched when the Battle Network collection comes out! I think the world setting looks so cool and interesting and the gameplay looks fun! That and I’m a sucker for RPGs lol. I’m even watching NT Warrior right now! I feel like the Battle Network series will end up being my favorite overall haha. Looking forward to more Mega Man videos and other games!
Wouldn’t have known about the Legacy Collection coming out if not for stumbling onto your vid. Definitely gonna buy it and relive the last 3 games. Good stuff and many thanks!
So excited to play through this series side by side with my friend again as we did growing up. We always would talk about who got which version so we could play side by side. The collection is my most anticipated game of the year.
Battle Network 3 blue was my first GBA game that I bought! God, I'm buying the collection on every system I have. I've beaten all 10 of the English versions! Have not gotten full completion on all of em, but that's the goal with this!
Hi matty i think you should make a video explaining the Final Fantasy VII games and their connection because there's a lot of Final Fantasy 7 games out there ♥️♥️
Played all the Megamall games and loved them all, combining floor grabs and sword techniques to catch those elusive baddies was epic, u always had to pack your deck with purpose
I’ve actually been genuinely interested in MMBN because of a couple of reviews done by another RUclipsr so when I saw the collection coming out I was exited but I want to wait for it to come out to try it
How I got into mmbn: Back when I was 10(21 years ago) I was searching the shelves of my local toysrus. Found a game that said "Megaman battle network 2". I was like oh? This looks cool. Bought it and played it abit. At first I was disappointed since it wasn't the same as the old games. I put it down for a year. Then I picked it back up again and my attitude towards it changed. Fell in love with it and never looked back. Have some of the fondest memories with this series.
If you like battle networks fighting system you might like Kingdom Hearts chain of memories. It has a similarly card-based structure with a reshuffle mechanic. It was pretty unique and fun and eventually evolved into the command deck system We know and love today
Completely forgot about this series! I knew I was into Megaman but I didn't remember playing the traditional Megaman games. Can't wait to re-live my childhood when the legacy collection comes out!
Ayyyyy Battle Network is not only my favorite Megaman series but it's also one of my top 10 series in general, I love these games to bits with 3 and 6 being my absolute favorites (followed by 5, 2, 4 and 1 if I were to rank them), I know I'm only a minute into the video but I love seeing this series getting the love it deserves.
Battle Network is fucking GOATed, love that shit. Not all the games are solid, but overall the series is amazing Battle Network 1: Growing pains, seriously dated and tends to drag. There are no special extra forms or functions that the series would become known for, no program advances, no Style Changes, no Soul Unisons, none of that. The post game is next to nonexistent, and what IS there is pretty much trash. Battle Network 1 is a game you play to learn the game, and get to know the characters. I find it's still fun under two conditions, 1) You only play with something that can give you save states like the WiiU Virtual Console (While you still can get it that is) or an emulator (Or the new collection that comes out soon, should it have save states.) and 2) You have absolutely no intention of going for 100% completions. Trust me, it is _not worth it_ Battle Network 2: A game that does basically everything BN1 did, again, but all for the better. There are new systems, subsystems, forms, and all sorts of neato stuff to play around with in 2. It's nothing crazy, but everything is a solid jump up from the last game. The story is even better this time around in my opinion as well, so this is where things start to really shine. Battle Network 3: The best one. The story in this one is the best in the series, everything from 2 is back but even better and more balanced, and overall this is just peak Battle Network. This one rules. Personally I'd recommend Blue version, White version is kinda pointless as there are very few differences and the differences Blue has are way better than Whites imo. Battle Network 4: The worst one, and in my opinion, the reason the series started to take a serious decline in sales and ultimately ended at 6. In terms of mechanics, everything here is mostly the same as before with one major change; Style Change is out, Soul Unison is in. Personally I love Soul Unison and since I got into the series through the NT Warrior toys, and then show, followed by starting with BN5, I just assumed fusing with dudes was MM.exe's version of when MMClassic would steal Robot Master Weapons in the classic series. Turns out BN4 is the game that introduced that, and while I adore that mechanic, and the way the game plays, what the game makes you do, the way the mission "structure" is layed out, it's a fucking trainwreck. Want a taste of how wack that game is laid out? The core of the game is a set of 3 different tournaments. Nothing is set in this bracket, it's all randomized, meaning it is entirely random whether or not you will actually get to fight important characters in the story or just random faceless nobody NPC characters. If you want to meet every single important character in this game, and by extension unlock every single soul, you will have to beat the game a bare minimum of two times to completion, and that is IF RNGesus works in your favor. Oh and since this BN3 is the game that started the whole Pokemon styled two versions thing going forward for all the games, you might as well double that cuz you've got Red Sun AND Blue Moon to think about. BN4 was the best selling game in the series, and due to it sucking a fat one, personally I believe it's the one that caused the later games to sell worse, and ultimately by the time 6 came out, well we'll get to it when we get there. Battle Network 5: My favorite. This game is extremely different in terms of how it handles things, sort of. There is a brand new battle system added onto this game called Liberation Missions. You gain a squad of other playable Net Navis alongside Mega Man, and you go through a battle field of viruses, fighting dudes to take out a big bad Net Navi at the end. The entire thing is set up on this grid like a chessboard, everybody's got their own special powers, imo it's fuckin awesome, but it's a 50/50 split with the fandom on whether this mechanic is good or not. You'll either adore it and wish the other games had it like I do, or you'll think it's something so awful you're glad this is the only game to ever have it; really doesn't seem to be a middle ground on that one. The plot is basically a repeat of the plot from 4, but done better imo. This game is an odd one to be sure, but I'll always love it for the misshapen little ghoul it is. Oh! Little bonus here, BN5 and 6 are the first games of this set of games where, imo, it's actually worth it to buy both versions, as each game has you building a different team of characters, so the stories are a little different! In 5 it stands out less than 6 but it's still the most the gimmick has stood out so far! Speaking of 6... Battle Network 6: The one that barely missed the mark. 6 is a fantastic game in a lot of ways. I will say that in terms of technical features and game mechanics, 6 is the most fun of the entire series. Seriously if you wanna play these games just for the gameplay, 6 is the best. You also might wanna stick to it just for the gameplay because while 6 has a story I personally find extremely interesting and something that COULD have been good, it really sorta just trips over itself in execusion. Won't spoil anything but the game really bends over backwards to try and make sense of things that just don't make sense, and there are plot contrivances that just don't work for me here, one of which happening right at the beginning of the game which really just put a sour taste in my mouth going forward. Don't misunderstand me, the plot isn't bad per say, but it's just really messy, and ultimately, like I hinted at with 4, it feels like it wasn't finished. 6 does not at any point while you're playing it feel like it's going to be the finale to the series, and I think that's because it wasn't supposed to be. I am certain that thanks to the series declining, which again imo is 4s fault, the devs were told at the last minute to make the game end with a finale to the series, and boy do you feel it hit you like a wall when the game ends. It's good that the game overall is still incredibly fun, one of the best in the series, because woof that ending is sloppy. tl:dr These games are legendary. RR knows what he's talking about, give these games a shot if you haven't played them.
Hey Matty I'd love to hear your thoughts on "Baten Kaitos Origins" on GameCube. I remember liking it as a kid and it had a unique card based combat system. Think JRPG but with cards to choose the attacks. If you haven't played you should try it out sometime. Thanks for all the great content.
This honestly feels like a dream come true! I wanted the BN Legacy Collection since the very first MM Legacy Collection came out! I've waited all these years 😍
Battle Network 4 Red Sun was my intro to Mega Man games. Before then I only knew the franchise from the anime that game on fox kids Saturday mornings. I loved the gameplay so much it ruined the classics and the X series for me.
Found my way here due to my hype for the Collection! I loved playing these games back in the day. I started with 3, which remains my favorite of the series, if not my favorite game of all time. In the years since, my GBA has died and I decided to let someone else enjoy these incredible games, but I did hunt down a copy of the DS version of BN5 for my 3DS, which I continue to play to this day.
2 more days man. 2 more!!! So jealous you got to play the game a week before the rest of us. I came across this video seaeching for more reviews just to calm my excitement. And im glad i did because i feel the EXACT same way as you about megaman and battle network. My days off will be spent on the net.
I grew up with Battle Network, specifically 3, like, I knew of mega man and barrowed the gameboy version of Mega Man 2 i believe, but BN is where I truly started my Mega Man journey, with the Zero series being next and my second favorite. However, since I started with BN3, I dont have the memories of playing BN1 as my very first Battle Network, (although i have indeed played it, i have videos on my channel please check it out) but I bet when BN1 first came out, it was great, but as soon as 2 was played, then 3, I bet every Battle Network fan can say without a doubt, that Battle Network 1 is TERRIBLE
I could never beat blue moon or team colonel. They were the only two I ever had outside of star force 3. So now not only am I pumped to play the collection but also pumped for these videos.
I love this series so much. When I think of Mega Man, I think of this series. The Battle Network games was one of two series I played more than any other on GBA(the other being Pokemon)
Battle Network 2 was the first game I owned for the GBA and I had no idea what MMBN2 was when I first saw it inside an EB Games. I knew I liked Mega Man, but was not familiar with the battle network series so my cousin bought it for me and am forever grateful. I ended up playing all six titles and I still find MMBN2 to be my favorite. Something about the series puts me in a happy place.
I’m fully with you Matty. Battle Network and the NT Warrior anime are my Mega Man. I grew up with these and love them. Also goes for Star Force. I really hope we get a Star Force Collection afterwards, too!
I remember when I first played battle network, I really liked it (as I was already a huge mega man fan when I got around to it). I started with BN5 (team protoman) and going back to the first game wasn't a disappointment. I remembered having a good time with BN1, but ik it gets a bad rap because it's not as good as it's sequels (which is true), so I replayed it over this past summer, along with BN 2, 3, and 6, and yeah, BN1 actually holds up for the most part and I thought it was really good despite needing a little refinement and quality of life changes. BN1 clearly left some work for the sequels to improve upon, but BN1 along with its sequels certainly lived up to my expectations.
I can only hope the series gets bigger after release. The feeling of seeing this grow into something greater and more advance would be amazing. Just hope I’m not too old when it comes
I will forever be amazed at HOW did they come up with such a great battle system that combines so many specific parts from many different genres into this MASTERPIECE of a system for Battle Network. ❤️
I’m so excited for the remaster, my first one was battle network 5 double team DS, after playing that I went back and played all the others as a kid for the gameboy advance, and now I plan on picking this up for my steam deck
found this channel a week ago and my first time being early! I loved battle network I only owned the first one but it's one of the few gba games i did beat aside from pokémon and the legacy of goku games 😂
Now you mention it it is a deck builder with action game play. Its funny looking back in the early 2000s we had 6 of these games and kingdom heart chain of memory was also this weird action deck builder game. They were at least a decade before deck builder game become so much more popular on the indie scene.
I still hum the opening music to myself all the time. And that last thing you said about this series taking you away from pokémon I never really thought about it but I think it did the exact same thing for me. I didn't really have too many friends that stuck with pokémon but I probably would have but I love this series so much it makes sense I didn't really have the pocket change to also get it. Also holy crap didn't realize all my boxes were worth that much lol. Hopefully they're not in bad shape
What we needed was a remake for all 6 not a legacy collection. Imagine having them all be linked together completely, including transferable chips from game to game. The later double versions would be fused together to have access to all the forms without having to chose one set over the other. Have the battles in all the games have the same in-game mechanics chip wise. Have all the style changes be tied to a code like in the anime that you can use in battle like in bn6. Examples of possible remake paths they could have taken.
This game was sitting on my gaming bucket list for years but I was too focused on Mega Man X and Zero series so I held off on it When Capcom suddenly released the Legacy Collection I attempted to play it for a bit out of curiosity but then I couldn't put it down, and now I'm already half way done with Battle Network 2, these games are amazing
I love the Battle Network series too! I've not played them as much as I'd though. Thank you for alerting me to those BN styled clones! I wish listed them on Steam!
I've been trying to get into Battle Network as the Mega Man X Series and Pokémon Gen I-III, as well as Final Fantasy VIII & X, Kingdom Hearts I, Chain of Memories, and KH II were my Faves growning up. I should love it, but for some reason it's been taking me a while and I take breaks. Although I get the feeling that after I complete the First Game I'll be hooked, and it'll go faster and be easier to get into. That's how I had to get Into the Zero Series.
It is , I loved this game when I was younger, the whole series was amazing, got a bit repetitive towards BN 6 but it was a wholesome storyZ and Star force was waaaaay ahead of its time
2 is for me the best to start with, because 1s online world was real bad, really easy to get lost due to how samey it was, but 2 for me was when they really stepped up and it became an actual beast, ofc it kept improving, which is why it kept getting better and better. Really excited to go over all of them again.
I still have MegaMan Battle Network copy (albeit its label is damaged) but it was a big part of my childhood even tho the game was already over 10 years old then
The first game is one of the hardest to go back to, especially after experiencing the later games' quality of life upgrades first in the latter games of the series
It doesn't suck, it's just a Mega Man 1 reference bro
if you HAVE to play MMBN1 play OSS remake it pretty much on par with MMBN2
The first game got a DS remake and it got full English translation patch. You might want to check that
@@mzxa9988 the ds version is actually soooooo much better
Eh, I like it that your hp doesn't decrease after each battle and you don't need to link out frequently.
My childhood. These games had me absolutely HOOKED to my Gameboy Advance. I can't wait for the HD collection next year!
The only mega man series that I got into. This, yu gi oh, Pokémon, and naruto ninja council got my blood pumpin when i was little
Same for me too. Played all those kinds of games haha. Love the nostalgia!
This series has a LOT of history with me. Battle Network 1 was, no joke, the first video game I ever played. I seriously cannot say enough good things about these games.
This is a great game to start on. I wish I could remember my first but I was like 3. I'm pretty sure it was OG Super Mario Bros. Or Zelda.
U should read the manga
I played starforce first, played battle network later but damn this is still one of the best style of gameplay ever. Easy to learn and easy to get lost in customizing your deck as well (in a good way)
I am so hyped for the Battle Network collection. I only ever played the original but I have some of my fondest memories associated with it. I'll never forget staying with the grandparents while going through a dungeon, listening to Price is Right, just having a great time. Times I'll never get back.
EDIT: To add on to my comment I will say Battle Network and the Mega Man Zero games are what I consider first when I think of Mega Man.
Wait so you only played the 1st battle network game??
If so, wait til you play 2 and 3. Those games are so beautiful
Same. These were the first Mega Man games I ever played. Fond memories of Mega Man Battle Network 2 and Mega Man Zero 1
@@Whoosh12345 Zero 1 made me feel like I didn’t know how to play video games, especially when my mission rankings was always a C or worse
There is an indie clone that I'm aware of, I can't remember what it's called though.
Nevermind Matty said it
MMBN was a great game, a brilliant original rpg concept including a genius battle system, perfect for the early 2000s era, not to mention taking advantage of the GBA hype and Pokémon's growth hyping up overall every kind of "collectible" concept in games.
The watched the anime on GMA Network dubbed in Filipino.
5 is great actually it did the whole dark chip story much better, I'd say is on the level of 2. It's just 4 that's the outlier of all the games
This was my first Megaman, and honestly after trying the old ones, this is my favorite in the series
One of my favs on the GBA. I still giggle every time I hear 'Jack in'.
I remember Battle Network from the brief cartoon show on TV. It was fun for the time.
I knew you loved Battle Network. Great video! These games got me through elementary and middle school. Such a massive fan of this series
12:45 OMG they actually sold the personal terminal and the battle chips?! I remember making a fake terminal complete with chips out of cardboard when I was a kid. I could've asked for the real thing and I had no idea it existed 😭😭
Anyway, great video as always, man!!
I’m glad I found this channel. Relieving so many old memories!
Bn blue moon is also one of my favorites despite the flaws
Loved these games, played em all back in middle school. Was such an awesome series. (I remember the anime being pretty good too)
Iceman and Elecman stages come to mind…Jesus
The quality of life changes they made between 1 and 2 were so necessary it’s amazing, never-mind style changes.
@@Capothekid i was introduced to the series with BN2 and is held near and dear to me for many reasons. once the collection came out i wanted to start from the beginning as i’ve only played BN2 and BN3, and holy shit BN1 was not fun to play lmao the QOL improvement is insane in BN2 having never played BN1 before. i powered through it just for the sake of beginning the context of the story for the franchise. i just finished today and took about 5-7 days to complete. definitely not going to look back at it ever again now that it’s over with
To this day the music to this game is in my soul.
play all 10 games and when the collection goes out gonna replay them just as much and yes im super bias and hype for the legacy.
I'm just like you with the fact that I went from Pokemon to MMBN when I felt the burnout, but I wasn't quitting and never quit Pokemon, just played it to the point where I could beat my neighborhood's ass, then I got to chill in ACDC Town and on the net with Megaman lmaooo
Loved these games and was so hyped when they finally announced the legacy collection, but I honestly hope when all the legacy collections are finished, they decide to maybe take these old games, a step further by making newer ones or something.
Thank you for covering my favourite game series ever ❤
Literally my same exact experience.
A beautiful man (Matty) and a beautiful game series (Battle Network).
Wouldn’t have known about the Legacy Collection coming out if not for stumbling onto your vid. Definitely gonna buy it and relive the last 3 games. Good stuff and many thanks!
The aesthetics in these games are *chefs kiss*
It’s crazy how under appreciated this series is.
So excited to play through this series side by side with my friend again as we did growing up. We always would talk about who got which version so we could play side by side. The collection is my most anticipated game of the year.
Some of the best games of all time. No lie.
Battle Network 3 blue was my first GBA game that I bought! God, I'm buying the collection on every system I have. I've beaten all 10 of the English versions! Have not gotten full completion on all of em, but that's the goal with this!
So stoked on these! Surprised they’re adding so much with the online. And a physical!! Woo
Thank you for talking about the Mega Man Battle Network games, my favorite series of all time.
This was my pokemon growing up. Looking forward to the switch release.
I’ve actually been genuinely interested in MMBN because of a couple of reviews done by another RUclipsr so when I saw the collection coming out I was exited but I want to wait for it to come out to try it
I'm so excited for this series, like you, battle network means everything to me so I'm excited to watch all your videos on the games!
How I got into mmbn:
Back when I was 10(21 years ago) I was searching the shelves of my local toysrus.
One of my fav series ever, I love to see they are bringing it back //
If you like battle networks fighting system you might like Kingdom Hearts chain of memories.
Not all the games are solid, but overall the series is amazing
Battle Network 1: Growing pains, seriously dated and tends to drag. Trust me, it is _not worth it_
Battle Network 2: A game that does basically everything BN1 did, again, but all for the better.
I've waited all these years 😍
The collection is confirmed 59.99
I got my start with Battle Network three blue. Was such a good game. Already like 2.5 hours into Battle Network 1 and I’m loving it!
I started with 3 white, my friend got blue and we didn't even coordinate! I was so stoked to find someone I could link battle with
I could never beat blue moon or team colonel. They were the only two I ever had outside of star force 3. So now not only am I pumped to play the collection but also pumped for these videos.
My friend put me into this game years ago and I’ve played it every since. It’s odee underrated
this game really pushing your skill into test based on your card deck. I'm not really good at it but i like the battle mechanic
I love this series so much. When I think of Mega Man, I think of this series. The Battle Network games was one of two series I played more than any other on GBA(the other being Pokemon)
With all the love Capcom’s been giving Mega Man, the Battle Network Collection is what I’ve wanted most.
Never played them. Super excited to.
Played only the first one as a kid and I'm SOOO excited for the legacy collection!! I'm going to enjoy beating all of them so much.
Battle network !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
I’m fully with you Matty. Battle Network and the NT Warrior anime are my Mega Man. I grew up with these and love them. Also goes for Star Force. I really hope we get a Star Force Collection afterwards, too!
I love this series I already pre-order this game for my ps4 so I can feel like a kid again this game brings me back so many good memories
Collection for next year!!!!
I loved battle network I only owned the first one but it's one of the few gba games i did beat aside from pokémon and the legacy of goku games 😂
i was playing this and listening to green days american idiot album. my god the nostalgia
I still have my copy of Mega Man Battle Network 3 Blue on the GBA. Loved it as a kid. Can’t wait for Nintendo to drop Battle Network Collection
Now you mention it it is a deck builder with action game play. Its funny looking back in the early 2000s we had 6 of these games and kingdom heart chain of memory was also this weird action deck builder game. They were at least a decade before deck builder game become so much more popular on the indie scene.
When I started playing this game, I often compared the Net Navi characters to their robot master counterparts in classic Mega Man.
I played until the 4th game * think and was very much into them. They got repetitive eventually but I used to love the series
This game was sitting on my gaming bucket list for years but I was too focused on Mega Man X and Zero series so I held off on it
When Capcom suddenly released the Legacy Collection I attempted to play it for a bit out of curiosity but then I couldn't put it down, and now I'm already half way done with Battle Network 2, these games are amazing
I love the Battle Network series too! I've not played them as much as I'd though. Thank you for alerting me to those BN styled clones! I wish listed them on Steam!
I have never played MMBN but it looks so cool. I am also excited for Multiplayer
I got the Legacy collection for Christmas and can't wait to play them.
I loved this game and completely forgot it existed.
I Subscribed because you are a fan of the Megaman Battle Network Series! Lets go!
It is , I loved this game when I was younger, the whole series was amazing, got a bit repetitive towards BN 6 but it was a wholesome storyZ and Star force was waaaaay ahead of its time
Megaman bn3 was my first video game that I've owned. Has amazing replay value. More story after completing the main story. beautiful game
2 is for me the best to start with, because 1s online world was real bad, really easy to get lost due to how samey it was, but 2 for me was when they really stepped up and it became an actual beast, ofc it kept improving, which is why it kept getting better and better.
Really excited to go over all of them again.
The game that gave us Mr. Match and ever changing Fire Navi while having an Arc
You remind me of Blessious, another gaming channel! Keep up the good content!
I still have MegaMan Battle Network copy (albeit its label is damaged) but it was a big part of my childhood even tho the game was already over 10 years old then
MMBN series will always be my favorite, the one I love the most is 3
