    The transition using track fx roll & filter and all stop, then turning off track fx with all start [7:30] is an awesome trick! I also really like how you showed all the settings screen by screen for those fx. Thanks for doing that! I'm watching your videos and learning so much.

    Mine came in 4 days ago, and thanks to your videos, I'm already doing most anything I think up! It's not as difficult as it seems at first. And it's more versatile than I thought it was! Thanks Reinhardt! Again, I LOVE what you do with it. It's TOTALLY musical. Several vids by others mostly make it seem like a NOISE machine. I ordered mine after seeing some of your Busking videos.

    The INST input is designed for audio up to +4dBu, which is what most professional instruments output. They output a much higher voltage than consumer or DJ equipment. The AUX input seems to be designed for headphone signal levels. So the normal output of a DJ-mixer (with RCA-connectors) would not be very loud compared to what the INST input can handle. It's a bit loud for the AUX input though, but if you keep the volume down, it makes sense that the AUX input sounds better. If you use a pro-audio mixer (with jack connectors), though, I'd expect the INST input to sound better.

    Hey Reinhardt! Thank you so much for your RC-505 tutorials and performances, you have extraordinary talent! I have a 505 on it’s way, and was wondering if you could set the machine to record specific 4, 8, 16 etc bar loops without having to hit the Play Button every time you wanted to stop recording? Basically set it up where it stops automatically after the set amount of bars is done. Is this possible?? Thank you for your time

    Thanks for tips and ideas. Your music is an inspiration! I also use the Boss RC-505 and I agree the auxiliary in seems to have a little more clarity. The headphone out seems to have a little more punch too. I feel that the difference is more noticeable at louder volumes. In either case, I do notice I have to eq the bass when using the built in rhythms because the lows are so pronounced with the kick.

    I saw a guy using the same footswitch that set it up so the second switch chooses the next track. That way you can start and stop the one that is currently selected and then move to the next track to record it. Then you can use all five tracks with the footswitch instead of just two of them. Not sure how you set that up. There must be a function in the 505 for selecting the next track that you can assign to a footswitch. There is a lot of good information in your video, though. Thanks!

    The order or sequence of effect types on output might influence the final sound. A B C might be different from C A B for example.

  • @tomlitterick560
    @tomlitterick560 4 года назад

    The output effects being different for a b and c isn’t an problem with the unit or an issue. It works in series so a effect works first then gets sent to b and then c. This is done by design. I believe it is the same for input effects

    Thanks for your awesome videos. You’re so very talented as a musician, and it’s nice of you to teach and share how to use your equipment.
    Most importantly, I was excited to watch your Pocket Rocks video and see your love for Christ in action!
    Two questions about the 505:
    1. Could I run my electric or acoustic guitar right in the 505 and then out to powered speakers? Ie, can I have no amp at all? Just use the 505 as a multieffects unit for delay, reverb, chorus? (Of course I don’t expect it to creat great overdrives and stuff like that.)
    2. Is it possible to have multi-part songs? Like a verse, then a totally different chorus with different chord progressions. So far, your videos I’ve watched have the same beat/progression for all 10-ish minutes.
    Only if you get a chance to answer ;-)
    Thanks.
    God bless!

    I"m trying to get a single elongated tone to loop without a spike at the join of the beginning/end of the loop. just using my voice through a mic, with a simple hum which is a consistent sound as I make it, starting the sound before the press of the record button and continuing the hum after hitting the stop recording of the loop... I would assume it would be a clean join but it seems to pop and clip is there a way to alleviate this? Or are looping machines more designed for rhythmic sounds which have a break in the sound to loop back on?

      Hi there, I would recommend any of the two microphones in the description of this video, either the shure or sennheiser!

    • @DontFeedTheTrolls
      @DontFeedTheTrolls 5 лет назад

      The two most basic microphones you might want are called SM57 and SM58. The only difference between the two is the windscreen giving the SM58 more bass in closer proximity to the sound and the SM57 has a more even response at any distance. For vocals with lots of bass - SM58 is the industry workhorse and the first microphone for most vocalists, anything louder than a typical voice or very high pitch like bells and whistles use SM57. There's always better microphones for more money but these two are essential starter mics.

    Am I right that you can’t improvise on your loops without recording the impro’s within the rc505 , I mean improvising without bypassing the rc ?

      If you use an omnidirectional mic your going to have more issues. Other than that just try to keep your mic as far from your speakers as possible and keep it mixed down when your not using it.
