Bio
Multi-Instrumentalist Reinhardt Buhr has composed 17 albums in 10 years time.
At the end of 2019, his work went viral over social media, reaching more than a hundred million views across Facebook and RUclips.
Reinhardt combines the Laser Harp, Spanish Guitar, Electric Guitar, Electric Cello, Australian didgeridoo, Israeli Shofar, Spanish Cajon, Synthesizers and Piano via a live looping system to create an extraordinary symphonic orchestral sound in only a one-man improvisational act.
Reinhardt Buhr was born in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1988 and grew up with
no passion for music at all, In fact, as a teenager, he became a computer gamer and
began abusing alcohol at a very young age. His first job was at a small liquor store, where he earned 20 cents an hour. After that, he worked as a packer in a supermarket. His plan of
becoming an animator failed when he started abusing marijuana and alcohol on a
regular basis.
At the age of 19, two of his closest friends began learning the guitar. Reinhardt
immediately fell in love with it. With no formal training, the three friends simply
taught themselves how to play. A year later, Reinhardt was inspired by a Flamenco
guitar player, and began learning Flamenco Rumba Guitar from RUclips videos.
One day, he was sitting at a small roadside steak restaurant with his parents, and
there was a man playing solo guitar covers. Reinhardt approached him to make
small talk and the owner of the restaurant overheard that Reinhardt played a bit of
Spanish Guitar music.
So the owner asked Reinhardt “Why don’t you come back next week to play, and I
will give you a steak and 10 dollars in return?” So Reinhardt Buhr played his first
solo Spanish guitar gig that following weekend and hasn’t stopped since.
Reinhardt Buhr quickly became known around South Africa and formed a duo
band called “Wild Lettuce”. He and the drummer performed many national
tours. They also opened for a lot of great artists. But unfortunately, Reinhardt fell
into a dark habit of abusing alcohol, drugs, and cocaine.
This affected him, his career, and everyone around him in a very negative way.
The band broke up. Reinhardt Buhr went solo and left his hometown, hoping to
escape the drug scene, only to find himself moving in with someone who also had
a cocaine problem. The whole cycle started over again.
At the end of 2016, Reinhardt hit an all-time low. He was at the point of death. He
fell on his knees and pleaded with God to step into his broken life. When things
could not get any worse, God in His full mercy and grace, stepped in and changed
his life completely. Reinhardt and his wife, Mandie Buhr, both experienced God’s
salvation and were baptized together. They left a lifestyle of abusing, marijuana,
alcohol, and drugs, and began on a beautiful road of salvation and healing.
During the biggest transition of his life, Reinhardt was playing a gig one day. As
he was playing for hundreds of people, He experienced a voice telling him to make music
for God. When Reinhardt made the shift from playing for fame and fortune to
playing for Christ Jesus, everything about his music changed! You can even see
the transition from his earlier album called “Organic 432hz”, to his latest album
entitled “Arise”.
To this day, Reinhardt Buhr makes music to God. This is his way of worshiping
His Creator and Saviour, Jesus Christ.

Bruh. Why don't you have millions of views? Your stuff is AMAZING!
Haha please ask youtube that? :) just more motivation to work harder!
He puts Dovydas to shame.
@@targetedindividual808 does he really? I mean everybody is entitled to their opinion, and this guy is incredible, but he's also at home and not on the street, I'm sure being home and having all your equipment available to you creates a bit of a more creative atmosphere.
@@OGBlackBridge He is on the street, at least he was in Berlin and South Africa until 2020. Not sure what you meant.
Because he is a son of God and the elitist music society / Satanic pop cult hates us?
I had a chance to play with RC-505 in my past and without that i would not know how skilled you actually are with it. In your videos looks all so simple, just press a button and voila! But it's not that simple at all! RC-505 is not a simple box that do the magic, it's an instrument that needs a practice, & it needs a lot of it!
Thank you for sharing your secrets!:)
You really use the full potential of 505! I just bought rc600 and I got lots of ideas for rythm construction. Thank you very much!
You are the Boss 505. Nicely done sir!
Awesome 😎 I love ❤️ your music … you are a genius thank you for sharing this beautiful music 🎶 xxxx
Thanks so much for watching and all your ongoing support! it is much appreciated !
Man, you are so talented. Your music is ethereal and trippy. Total brilliance.
Thank you so much!
Holy shit that was fucking inspirational
You are a musical genius 👍
Great tutorial! Loved it. If I may, one suggestion for your tutorial videos is to use a wider lens or shoot from further away. Some of the angles seemed way too close in my opinion. By the way I stumbled on your channel from another looping guy, and was pleasantly surprised! Love the moody feel to your music. Keep it up!
My latest Album "Movement 3 - Berlin" (2019) is now available to download here: reinhardtbuhr.bandcamp.com

Hey dude, you are helping inspire me to better things. Thankyou!
nice stuff - like the use of unusual instruments & textures
Amazing music!
You rock Reinhardt!!!
Очень понравился этот исполнитель. Душевную музыку пишет
amazing..... Slovakia watching also
Easy.
You just have to learn all these instruments, practice-practice-practice, develop rhythm and melodic compositional skills plus a fair stack of music fundamentals, finance/buy/learn all the tech, get the house to put it in and a small van to move it with when going to perform, buy some cameras and PA gear, light the candles, develop an imagination, become a generous soul willing to share all the knowledge and VOILA! Any monkey can do it. He might not ever have time to eat or any money left for food after buying that next piece of must-have equipment but so what: skinny monkeys climb higher.
He said so himself "that is that for putting my music together in one take". Hmmm...
Humility. After all the other stuff already mentioned, becoming a decent human might be too much for some.
Thank you for your generosity of spirit Reinhardt. The music is just who you are it seems.
Blessed by your talent bro.
blessed to have people like you appreciate my music :)
Tallented AF.. Listening from ireland. You're one highly skilled human being.. 🤙
Amazing, thanks for doing this video. Pretty good stuff, I actually can listening this in a club. Cheers from Israel

Thank you so very much!
youre just brillant you creat a Really incredible ambiance....
bro what this guy does is amazing too was to honestly have him almost a billion subscribed
You’re amazing bro! Thanks for your inspiration
Great music! I agree with you that the aux jack on the RC 505 has better sound quality than the 1/4 inch inputs. I notice a huge difference with some instruments.
Thank you so much for your video. I'm just starting to record with my 505 studio set up and your video is super helpful! Love the horns and electric cello..... killer sound, keep it coming!
very encouraging. it helps a lot to understand.
Thanks a lot my friend! Leaving in 12 hours woohooo!!!
Awesome 👍 work brother. Can't wait to start experimenting it's coming in today. Keep up your amazing vids. Master looper 👍🇨🇦
Приветствую. От души,пользуюсь твоими приёмами на твоих крисивых примерар. 🎼
Thanks for the tips, I'll be much more ready to use mine when it gets here Saturday! You answered most of my questions, and I'm already sure of the order to set up my other pedals in. Thank you very much, and I sincerely LOVE what you create with it! God Bless You in your endeavors!
Thanks a lot for your kind words and appreciation of these video's! May God bless you too!
Thanks man! Blessings..
Simply amazing!
Really dope man! Ive only been looping for a couple months and you're definitely an inspiration. Wish i had more instruments. Currently im just using a midi keyboard with plugins. Didnt really learn anything new from this vid but it doesnt matter because the music was great! You really should have more subs.
Thanks a lot man!
Amazing Performance....!
Thank you for this - it's really beautiful! :)
I'm glad it was helpful to you :)
Nice boet. Really awesome
Thank you so much man !

@@ReinhardtBuhr yeah...check out my channel
Wow man 👍👍👍
Love it!
Thank you!
Amazing! I'm blown a way ...
Thank you!
Amazing!!!!
Thank you!
Excellent
Hey man! Really awesome job. I´m loving these.
If I could give some criticism I would suggest changing it up a bit. Pretty much all your songs Ive heard are almost identical. From a musical view and from a creation process aspect as well. (first beat, then guitar, then cello, then didjeroo, some more cello and horn)
Would be cool to see some different beats, patterns, instruments... etc. It can be challenging at first but thats half the fun, right? ;)
Still 10/10
Awesome thanks for the critique, do you have any suggestions ?
@@ReinhardtBuhr mmmm. Change the order of when the instruments come in. Maybe start with the cello or with the didgeridoo. Or try to make some music with a more pronounced and fast beatbox rhythm.
Idk, just some ideas.
Thanks a lot! soon there will be a lot of fresh content :) I appreciate your feedback
Pablo Santos I was gonna echo this. The underlying melodies often seem to be those two chord patterns, with the same instrumentation. But those beat machines are capable of so much more than simple 4/4 techno beats, and I would say he should lay down different patterns with his bass, to add his instruments to. Doesn’t have to be arpeggios or those new agey ambient sounds every time, he could put down chord progressions with distortion, etc. I agree though, that this guy is kick ass
Well, as a musician I would agree that many of his videos do follow the same order and beat, but at the same time each is unique, and people seem to enjoy each and every track, it's his trademark and style. If you checked his latest album and generally music since he switched to Ableton Live, he's developped his style a lot since the years of street music with the RC-505 :)
Reinhardt, amazing talent! Kom speel bietjie in Kanada. My fam het jou gesien by Café Roux laasweek!
Awesome video man! Keep it up! Since I've seen your first video I'm kind of addicted to your style. Also I'm thinking of purchasing an rc505 as I'm only using the rc 1 at the moment but the possibilities are quite limited with it. Does the sequencer have a built in kick sound or a signal is sent into it? I love the sound of it.
legend m8 love it hay
Thank you!
Hey man very inspirational thx !
What assignment did you give your footpedal?
Thanks for showing us your set up. When you busk, how do you power everything? Find a power source somewhere? I'm working on a similar setup but tryng to avoid having to find a place to plug in.
I have a video on my channel dedicated to explaining that in a lot of detail, but in short, I use a car battery and inverter :)
@@ReinhardtBuhr Thanks for sharing all this information. it is appreciated.
Would have been great to see the electronic instrumentation.
Fascinating
I love you Reinhardt but you gotta let your cameraman know to SHOW THE LOOPER WHILE YOURE LOOPING instead of zooming in your face or instruments. Thats not the only vid where they do that. Thanks for everything you're putting out for us brother!!
thanks for the video, im wondering how you set up the chanells? they are free? or 16? or how you do it ? thanks so much =)
Amazing Stufff :) One question, how do you get this delay effect? for ex. on 12:00 the horn delay effect?
Genius
wooooowww
I’ve been trying to set each loop track to a different length on my 505. How do you do that? So a short rhythm, but with a longer looped melody. It seems I can only have the different length loops on certain loops (free)..? How do you do it? I use Wavedrum, piano, and violin. I want the piano and violin loops at different lengths
Should I Buy zoom H5 or H6 handheld recorder?
Ey what Circuit pack are you using for drum samples and synth paths? Thanks! By the way, when you do the AllStart/AllStop, does it also starts/stops the Circuit?
That is correct! I am only using custom sounds loaded into it. I use no preset pack or anything. and I'm only using one kick sound from the circuit.... for now....
🎉
what's the tuning on the guitar, Basic?
How are you switching tracks on and off while both hands are busy?
footswitch
до чего же ты дядька охуенен. последние пару месяцев только тебя слушаю
No Joke they downplay real Talent!!
I like you
I don’t understand how you stopped the 5 loops and started them again? But kept stuff going?
The start/stop all button, the stuff that was going was the kick from the novation circuit
If you were a hot 21 year old girl doing this you'd already have millions of views :P
Hahaha Most probably....
@@ReinhardtBuhr It was an Elise Trouw reference :)
Yeah but she is doing very carefully selected covers, basically people pleasing. Would be interesting how successfull her original work is! Reinhardt is doing it the right way. All original and humble
I have a lot of new things coming soon! I am super excited to share it with you guys! I'm itching to spill the beans but I have to resist :) Thanks a lot for all your support and comments much appreciated! You guys are the reason for these video's!
