Mia Brooks i have to partly agree on this, although id love to nerd out over it woth more than the same five people, it's cool to have it as more if a hidden gem, y'know? Like some sort of treasure :D
This game was one of the most enriching games I've ever had the privilege of experiencing. This medley is expertly handled. Give yourself a pat on the back, you beautiful human being.
The ridiculous thing is that this medley barely makes a dent into the NieR:Automata OST (in terms of how much of the OST is actually covered). Its THAT big and THAT good. That being said, this is incredible and possibly my favorite video from you :D. Would love to see you do more automata covers!
Can we just "undertale" this series and then make like 10-12 months of nothing but Neir Automata covers so I can finally find peace with my meaningless and mostly forgettable excuse for a human life?
Ah, shit. NieR Automata is quite possibly the only game I bought at full prize without doing extensive research on it. Sorta just happened to be in a good place financially and went: "Hey, that game has gotten a bit of praise lately." and bought it. Hadn't even seen a trailer of it. And I am so thankful I did. Not only was the game ridiculously fun and though provoking... The soundtrack. You could have literally picked any given tracks for this medley and it would have kicked ass.
This really late but same, I’d heard about it for two years and was constantly like nahhh doesn’t seem interesting I finally decided to, I was finished recently with ffx so I obviously wanted more sadness in my life 😂
@@anonymousanonymity2815 Yeah, same here. I'm not too far into the game, I just beat the boss in the desert but I'm loving it already and the music is just a big sweet cherry on top
@@anonymousanonymity2815 I wouldn't call it outright sadness; it felt more like melancholy and bittersweet enjoyment. But, yeah, the game doesn't skimp on any of the feels it strikes you across the face with, nor does the endgame lore try to soften exactly what you have done/continue doing.
You can tell a videogame OST is brilliant when you hear a Medley and recognize every song and where it plays with no trouble. And then you start singing even though the lyrics are in a fake language that has no meaning. Completely brilliant, just like this medley. Any chances you'll do Song of the Ancients (Devola and Popola's theme that comes back from the original NieR)? It is, IMO, one of the best songs in the OST from both games, alongside Grandma, probably... I don't know, the OSTs are too amazing to have a favorite.
Underrated? By who? I'd say overrated, where many people say perfection. Don't get me wrong if I give a game a 10/10 it does NOT have to be perfect but the game had mechanical issues (actual gameplay). Outside of that I can only see it as a game since many facets of the story rely on the game mechanics, like the UI being messed with while being hacked or hacking itself.
Are you arguing that it's perfect? Look I've played Devil May Cry, Bayonetta, Ninja Gaiden, ect. There are plenty of balanced and combat systems, I do love the unique upgrade system (similar to Megaman Battle Network), but many games have done it 'better'. No two games are the exact same, except for sports games/CoD (joking), and no game completely beats another (usually they shine somewhere else). But this game IS NOT underrated.
I don't know what you mean by perfect, since a game itself can never be perfect, it's a subjective concept. You said that the gameplay has issues (I haven't noticed any). The game had its imperfections on the PC version, but it was godly on consoles. The combat itself isn't as deep as say Dark Souls/DMC/NG/Bayonetta, but it's still extremely fun. It's up there with Dark Souls and Dragon's Dogma imo when it comes to RPG combat (which usually sucks - TW3, Skyrim (I hate Skyrim btw) etc)
ruined city -> resistance camp -> desert + etc. Nier automata is the best quality game that one will keep in mind so far, no doubt. Such a nice story line, nice sound track, and nice ending. One thing that i disappoint in this game is when I realize that i can't play it like the fisrst time again.
It's October 6th 2022 I just got my switch port of nier automata. It's one of the few games that moved me the way something like zelda would have when I was a kid. A solid port
I've been putting off listening to this because I KNOW What's going to happen... and it did. As soon as I finish what i'm doing on my computer Nier Is going BACK in the ps4. I already beat it but my god I want more. This game is SO GOOD. Love your covers too! You really nailed it!
I'm a simple person: I see Nier, I see FamilyJules, I click~ [Aaaaaaah I'm so happy you made a medley of Automata songs! The series has such good music and it deserves all the love
NO YOU DIDN'T. OH MY GOD THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR THIS. THANK YOU. This and P5 are definitely my games of the year and both games had such phenomenal soundtracks.
I've NEVER been this early before to a new cover. Might as well comment for the 1st time saying Thank you For covering one of my favorite games and lots of others. YOU ROCK DUDE
FamilyJules this is why you're one of my favorite artists on RUclips. The soundtrack for this game is already emotional as it is, and you just drop kicked it to another level. I started listening to your covers since the Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past medley, and you have yet to disappoint with your work since. I may just be another subscriber, but I want to let you know I appreciate what you do and I'll keep rockin out to your tunes man. ***clicks the replay button***
I don't comment on videos but this is just absolutely amazing. You are my favourite video game music arranger and I agree with you, even after hearing the OST so many times, I still love it so you making an arrangement of this is just awesome.
Man, this was the best game I've ever played in my life. This game's soundtrack is just phenomenal and watching such an accurate medley made me remember all the happy moments I had while playing it (even a tear came out xD). My favorite place in the game is the Amusement park, so I was really excited for 4:42 . The second I hear him playing the xylophone I got goose bumbs all over my spine, what a legend this guy is. It's so sad seeing people that give up on playing the game just because of 2B's outfit and it triggers the shit out of me because they didn't even get in the best part and they are already judging it as a bad game. They don't know the masterpiece that they are losing.
This might be the best thing you've ever done. I absolutely loved everything about NieR: Automata, especially the music. You did an amazing job on this.
Hahahahaaha. I did that mission on my play through with the homing rockets which made it infinitely easier. RIP child. You never saw that giant laser to the face coming
Great video. I agree, Nier:Automata's OSTs are spectacular and easily one of the best OSTs I have ever heard. I hope you'll do more Nier cover in the future
Disappointed i couldn't find this on your spotify playlist , would have played the shit out of this. i still will on here but would be nice to have available on my phone, GREAT JOB!
Literally JUST finished this game two nights ago. This couldn't have possibly been timed better. Beautiful work, man. This is an amazing medley celebrating an already amazing collection of work.
3:49 tfw pascal takes over the goliath to fight the engel machines... (even though I am more than a year late) you have made my day man, stupendous job!!!!!
Considering what Pascal did before he was disconnected, controlling an Engels is actually much easier, but still doesn't take away any bit of the sense of power that part of the game tries to deliver when he decides that he needs to take up arms to protect his charge.
Woah, some very nice arrangements in here! Definitely liked the heavy interpretations you've given, particularly for 'Birth of a Wish'. That cover of 'Voice of No Return' was very sweet too. Really great arrangements, again!

I don't think he will cover it... If you take a look at Skar Productions interpretations of the song there is a pretty damn high bar set for covering that song...
NieR: Automata is such a special game, and the music is some of the greatest I've ever heard. Your version is a fantastic tribute, keep up the good work my man !
Great job. You're producing skills have climbed steadily. This track has a humongous soundscape. Beautiful. Hope we can see the whole slew of other great songs you couldn't get this time. Forest Kingdom, Sound of the End, Copied City, and The Tower come to mind right away.
The video speaks for itself, I don't think Jules needs my praise, but instead I will give my recommendation for Nier. For every comment that does, we maybe open up another soul to a masterpiece.
This game is 7 years old now. I haven't played it in over 6, but damn, it really made a massive impact on me. I remember listening to this when it first came out and I still find myself listening to the music from time to time.
Nier Automata is a really great masterpiece. Anyway I think this medley also makes almost the same level of the game. hahaha Thx for sharing this bro! You rock! Glory to mankind!
Amusement Park is one of those songs that I can instantly recognize. It's just so distinct, by far one of the best tracks in the game. Voice of No Return is also a BEAUTIFUL song, and I love Jules' version of it too.
One of your best arrangements yet! This game literally broke me in the best way and the soundtrack is a perfect compliments to those feelings. Thank you for bringing this medley to life In a way that helps exemplify how beautiful all these melodies are
Absolutely incredible man. I just commented on your Ace Attorney cover, and I'd love to keep telling you how fantastic these covers are on every video, but that'd be annoying. Just.. wow. I love what you do and I hope you never stop.
0:43 yeah i hate that too when you are rocking out in the woods and then a flie flys in your face but jokes aside great video ! Especially the first song really worked with this arrangment and was hauntingly beautiful. I am curious if he does the mixes by himself. And if he does did he took some lessons in mixing or is everthing selfthought.
FJ, this is seriously some of the best work you've done. I wish that Xylo came through just a tad more on the mix, but man-o-man the arrangement is top notch. Thank you for all the hard work!
Well, I definitely agree that this cover sounds big! The acoustic guitar playing over the electric guitar during Pascal's theme was a lovely touch^^ Good job once again! Automata was one of those games I started watching videos of to see if it was any good, but I was so entranced by the story that I ended up watching the whole damn thing. I regret it so much; had I not done that, I'd have bought the game in a heartbeat the moment I buy my PS4. Gotta learn some self-control, man!

LittleVmills did Song of the Ancients from Nier. Would love for him to do a Nier Automata version, want to see how he makes them distinct from each other.
I made the point of covering both Grandma and Grandma Destruction in the hope NieR 1 would get more love eventually. Really needs more love than it gets, given how much of Automata's OST derives from it
BlueRainbow101 to be fair, nier wasnt as well received as automata despite having just as good a soundtrack. Hopefully we will start to see some more OG nier songs now that the youtube music scene is picking up automata!

I made the point of covering both Grandma and Grandma Destruction in the hope NieR 1 would get more love eventually. Really needs more love than it gets, given how much of Automata's OST derives from it
Harpistry VGM Orchestra Good man! All of Taros game need love like this!
BlueRainbow101 to be fair, nier wasnt as well received as automata despite having just as good a soundtrack. Hopefully we will start to see some more OG nier songs now that the youtube music scene is picking up automata!
Well, It's really awesome, thanks a lot for such a medley, man
Woooow! I hear this and I remember your Frog Song from like 20 years ago! I love you FJ!
