Oh, hell yeah! I used to always leave a potion donation at the shrine, which gives you Levitation for A WHOLE HOUR. Then you can just fly around all the towers and levels - WAY easier.
Oh, and the run speed, Kevin? That increases as your Athleticism skill goes up. So you start off slow, but then the more walking around in-game you do, the more that skill goes up and the faster you can actually go.

2. a constant effect levitate ring (even if its low power it will still be pretty fast with any speed boosting buff).
now you can constantly fly like any Telvanni should.
Also end game you truly can feel like a god jumping whole mountains, stand in lava, or just stand near vivek and let him kill himself.

Early-game accuracy in Morrowind is horrible. It's like the character is drunk and blindfolded at the same time, especially if you use a weapon that isn't in your class.
To be fair the hit detection and accuracy was awful. I remember playing Oblivion for the first time after Morrowind and going, “oh my god! I can hit things!”
Big Mac Muncher Yeah that was definitely one of the worst aspects of Morrowind and one that had the potential to turn a lot of players away, thankfully though it does get better later in the game

@@deskita One of the reasons when oblivion was first shown with actual arrows that hit enemies and swords that *Gasp!* cut the person your attacking i wept. I love morrowind to death, and understand that the earlier Elder scrolls game were more rpg mechanics than skyrim, but a mod that makes accuracy 100% is a must have for me. Ill deal with everything else Morrowind has, but hearing WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH THWACK all the time is the line.

Coming in three years late as a retro-gaming fan and I have to say the first time I got to the Ghostfence I remember thinking “this had to be so cool when it was new.” The game hasn’t aged well but they did so much with it and I really appreciate it, even 20 years later. One of these days I’ll even finish it.

I'd love to get into Morrowind, but as someone that started with Skyrim, and then moved to Oblivion, it's not easy. Morrowind is a tad dated. I'm also stuck with vanilla, so no mods to modernize it a bit. Like, I'm all for older games. I'll still play NES games or even Atari 2600 games for fun. But there's something about the like, Morrowind era of games where it feels super janky. It's like right in the middle. like, it's still an older game, but it's at a time where they were trying to do way more than they used to, but didn't know how yet.
Any tips for not getting irritated and quitting to play a less dated game?

That'd be perfect for Kevin cause he doesn't seem to intend to be any good at it, just dick around. If he wanted to try, I'd tell him to do the Warrior if he's playing redguard so he can get better attack damage OR the Ritual to heal at least once a day right off the bat.
I use console commands and immediately set my speed to 100.

But having less than like, 70 speed is miserable.

Kevin, when you steal something in the tutorial, drop it immediately and wait for the guard to talk to you. Pick it up again and the item is yours.
Also if you fess up to having the ring, you can do a quest to steal it later if you go into the general store in town and go upstairs.

This was my favorite game as a kid, I've beaten it twice, as well as all the quest lines and dlc. The movement speed gets faster as your skills increase, it's honestly ridiculous how op your character can get later in the game

Step 3: Look for the "notifications" tab and press on it.
Step 4: Press on "Scheduled digest" and set a specific time to receive notifications.
I had the same problem as you until I figured this out.
Edit: You wont receive ANY notifications from RUclips until the chosen time. I have it set to 2 hours before work. If you still need help just let me know.

9:07 that was my entire morrowind experience. I quit because I thought the game was broken. I never played again when I found out it's normal to hit something once every 100 swings.

Fun fact: the first character you see, Jiub, moved to Kvatch after this, right before it was sacked by daedra. The next time you see him is as a soul in the soul cairn. Poor dude

First time I played this game I was 9 and sucked at video games. I also got lost but instead of giving up, I became a homeless vagrant who traveled from town to town looting barrels.
Thankyou for the nostalgia Kevin. I remember coming home from primary school everyday to jump on my shitty compaq laptop to play morrowind. Was such an adventure..my first real rpg experience - the music still gives me chills! A shame Bethesda will never be able to match this game again

This is one of my favourite games ever. The story is absolutely amazing. I remember back in 2004 when I was 4 my dad showing me this game and me sitting on his knee watching him play : ). I have nothing but nostalgia for this game. I can understand if you don't like it though, it's age is showing.

@@bengal4047 I revoke my statement about House Hlaalu. After reading some more Elder Scrolls Lore and stuff, I agree that House Redoran are the best. Hlaalu > Telvanni though. It's a shame because some people in House Hlaalu were nice but there were too few of them.
I personally prefer the Telvanni, but it's fitting that the internet doesn't agree with me.

I honestly like them for the fact that even if you are a vampire, they won't care. I am against the slavery thing as well and will go out of my way to free any slaves in Vvardenfell, even when there are like 20 high level guards watching and doing so will screw me over. Elder Scrolls: Morrowind but kevin is lost for 15:46 minutes
When you give Fargoth the ring, you can go back into Arille's Tradehouse, and up the stairs. There's a Nord there at the top of the stairs who will show you how to find Fargoth's hiding spot. He says he'll take some of what's in there, but you can just keep the money for yourself. You get 300 gold and the ring, along with Fargoth still having maximum disposition with you. Also, Nine Toes isn't the murderer.

Kevin you can't steal stuff like that in the tutorial, it gets taken from your inventory.
What you gotta do is pick it up then IMMEDIATELY open your inventory and drop it; once you do this the stuff is at home base and it's not stealing when you pick it up after they bust you.

I played this game so much as a kid, never had a clue what I was doing until I came back as an adult... still didnt have a clue but I did do some main quest stuff that time around

That wasn’t the problem. Morrowind’s combat is entirely probability based. The game rolls cirtual dice for every action, including hitting things. He was missing. It wasn’t the health the enemies had, he just didn’t have the defenses to survive a fight without armor or a good weapon. He also skipped character creation. In real RPGs, you can’t be good at everything and must know what your character’s strengths are. It is the skill of your character, not you yourself. Morrowind is the last game of its kind. The last traditional RPG video game.

It reminds me of how I tried to play Morrowind. I died, died, died, got hopelessly lost, and realized that "Skyrim with quest marks (ones over the items and NPCs, not ones on the map) off and interface almost transparent" is as hardcore as I can go when it comes to navigation in video games.
