Very useful introduction for complete beginners like me, thank you! I’m mostly interested in this for photos and the three-point setup mentioned sounds just right to get started with.
Hello, thank you for the great video. I'm interested in that bulb holder that holds four bulbs but I can't find anything that looks like that. Can you please direct me to what that is called or what the brand is? Thank you.
It's a 4-in-1 E27 Socket Lamp Holder with Umbrella Holder. Here's the link on Amazon UK: amzn.to/48GRCwt There's a 5 bulb version on Amazon dot com but it doesn't have the hole for the umbrella shaft, you'd have to adapt it in some way. amzn.to/3vFkJ4S I hope that helps.
@@DIYVideoStudio Thank you. I have a couple of one-bulb holders with the shaft but they can't handle the weight of even a small umbrella. I'll keep searching for a soution.
Great video! I'm using umbrella lights for photography but I'm planning to start making some videos, so it's good to know that I can use the same lighting (although I need to switch to led bulbs).
This video is underrated!! Thank you so much 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼
Glad you enjoyed it!
This is one of the best videos I've seen explaining how to correctly use this light 👍
Wow, thanks!
i learnt a lot about umbrellas! thanks
You're so welcome!
what that guy said, I learned a lot too!

Yes, the principle is the same for photography, although you will also have the option of using speedlites or strobes with the umbrellas.
Terrific video. Are the bulbs you recommended compatible with shooting video? Or do they flicker in playback?
The bulbs shouldn't flicker. I used these bulbs in my videos until recntly, when I started using a ring light.
