    6:22 One reason our cars feel sloppy when shifting fast in the high rpms is because it has something called a Clutch Delay Valve, it’s located between the clutch slave & clutch master cylinder.
    You can swap in an after market clutch slave / master cylinder that doesn’t have a clutch delay valve, aftermarket brands like hybrid, k-tuned, etc or you can actually get an OEM one from a 2001-2005 honda civic “EM2” that doesn’t have a delay valve.
    Another thing you can do to remedy that sloppy shifting feel is replace the shifter bushings with something better.
    Also consider a lighter weight flywheel & upgraded clutch, some people recommend the dc5 flywheel in the cl9.
    May be worth looking into!

    • @KiwiCarLife
      @KiwiCarLife  2 года назад +1

      It's not really the clutch delay valve that causes the issue I'm talking about. It's more the engine mounts are much softer. It needs a torque damper or something

    • @Regan-n7g

      My CL7r has the same issue, I'm granny shifting and even at lower rpms I can still see my passengers lurching forward too.

    • @ivogiev
      @ivogiev 19 дней назад

      The delay in the cluth master can be remedied by drilling a whole in the part itself. Vtec academy channel in you tube showed this procedure in one of their videos. Maybe to fix the engine sloppiness, performance mounta are the way to go. If oul pump with balance shafts is used, probably no cons will be present after such swap.

    Next step is to get a 50° vtc pinion and a tsx cams if you don't want spend a lot, and RRC intake manifold + bigger throttle body, and you will get the same behaviour and power that the EP3

    • @ivogiev
      @ivogiev 19 дней назад

      Which cam exactly from TSX is the upgrade? Maybe the intake one, cause the K24A3 factory exhaust is I believe not worse than the K20A etc. Regarding the 50 degree cam gear-I see that most gains are found arround 30 degrees , so maybe the 50 degrees one is a bit over kill. Do not know, but if the 50 degree gear fails, maybe valve to piston contact is possible, so worth thinking if those last 5 degrees to 30 are really so important.

    • @Esdru221
      @Esdru221 19 дней назад +1

      @@ivogiev yes, the upgrade is on intake cam (speaking of OEM cams) if you step to aftermarket ones, you will change both of them. About the VTC, it depends of the engine and his mods, some likes more 30-35 and others about 40, but in general with OEM cams you probably will need a little more angle, and with aggressive aftermarket ones, with 30° will be enough. That's because usually that cams has a non VTEC lobe very big. Finally, with OEM cams and stock compression you don't need to worry about piston - valve contact because is not gonna happen. With upgrade cams the risk is real so you need to mechanically limit vtc angle

    • @ivogiev
      @ivogiev 19 дней назад

      @@Esdru221 , thank you for the detailed explanation. Can you please vlarify how do you limit mechanically the cam gear to safe value,presumably 40 degrees although should be camshaft specific I guess? Maybe a good approach will be to machine out the OEM 25 degree (if not mistaking )gear to about 40?

    • @Esdru221
      @Esdru221 19 дней назад +1

      @@ivogiev yes, the most common is mechanicing it, you can use the tracktuff pin limit too. Basically is a piece of metal that limit the degree reach of the vtc gear
